@@YouMissedAgainTimes32024 not necessarily. The movie reused the themes of the games, but didn’t really change them. The only times it did this that was with the original theme for the film. Which, you didn’t get to hear a lot of because those tracks were cut for the licensed music. The track “2 player game” is a good example of this.

@@Swaggless you might know of basic synths its other type of sound aside from Samples (which super mario world uses) and FM Which is PSG Pulse is basically waves in square and can vary in width The famicom uses pulses for example

And I am not talking about recorded, I am saying the program and hardware implemented as software, that can recreate and play back the tracks perfectly. Read up on it if you are curious.

Modern day AI can learn to make well rendered images and follow guides to what sounds appealing to the ear. Great tools for filling in gaps when you're looking for something that doesn't need to be new and interesting. Innovative new ideas however require human creativity.

1:02 got to the territory of finding the copyright free version of well known songs so every few notes is the right note, but the rest are weird octaves of the other notes
I thought the same for AI music, but then all the music generators suddenly got ridiculously good out of nowhere. Mostly Suno and Udio, but I think there were some other high-quality ones that popped up.
To be honest, AI text kinda startles me, almost like a liminal space in how it's familiar, but not. I almost feel as if the AI messed up things are gonna infect me somehow & alter me. But never the music, just the text.
This low-key sounds like as if Grant Kirkhope (composer of the Banjo-Kazooie series) had a take on this theme. 0:25 - 2:11 sounds like the outside world, and from 2:11, it could work as an "inside caves/buildings" variant.
This feels like those moments when your brain is trying to remember a song and changes constantly
