  • @quinoah_
    @quinoah_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Hold up, how did you get the animation to work on your character just like that?
    Is it because the animations works seamlessly alongside the mannequin rig? You were just able to drag it onto your character and it worked?

    • @PrismaticaDev
      @PrismaticaDev  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yep - the character uses the UE4 skeleton so there was no retargeting needed!

    • @quinoah_
      @quinoah_ 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Dang, that's kind of amazing lol.
      Another question: Is it possible to animate in Mr. Mannequin here using a custom character? Ideally, you'd want to be animating on the character you've modelled, and not a mannequin.
      At around 1:15 you switch the mannequin model, would this tab perhaps be where you'd import a custom model? If there are any tutorials out there for this, I'd appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction. Thanks, and great video!

    • @PrismaticaDev
      @PrismaticaDev  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@quinoah_ sure can! The tool comes with some rigging options (for rigging to the UE4 skeleton setup, custom skeletons will come in the future) and then it will be set up and ready for animation. Jim Kroovy has a great video on his channel where he rigs a character in 10 minutes

    is there a way to combine retargetted animation data and blender animation data at the same time. Like if i make a character waving in blender, but I have an idle animation I like in unreal engine, can I combine both in unreal? I'm trying to figure out a clear pipe line using retargetted animation data so that I don't have to do frame by frame all the time.

    for making this simple animations have you tried recording while playing animation , grab any control and start moving it , while playing your animation (with autokeying), youll see it will record every single frame, thats a nice thing, you can even play the animation slower so you can make that more accurately,
    i really wanna try that with VR, because that would accelerate so much the process of animating anything.
