The African Game of the Century | Al Ahly - Zamalek | The Cairo Derby

The Cairo Derby is one of the most important fixtures in world football. Al Ahly and Zamalek have incredible traditions, and have won an incredible amount of silverware, both on the domestic and continental level. Amongst Africa’s biggest clubs, 2020 saw them face off in the CAF Champions League final.
In the 2011 Arab spring, saw the Ultras groups of both these clubs, Ahlawy and Ultras White Knights had a pivotal role. Since, the massacres of Port Said and Enppi has led to Egyptian football being played without fans for nearly a decade. In 2020, with the world locked down because of Covid-19, these two giants faced off in what many consider the biggest match in African history.
