I found it interesting that you seem to have a different understanding of where Age of Sigmar is at at the moment compared to what I hear from Vince Venturella and Rob The Honest Wargammer, I assume that it because you may be always one step ahead of the meta doing a lot of your gaming on Tabletop Simulator? Hearing Skaven is the best army at the moment blew my mind, it's absolutely against what I have heard everyone else say about the army :P

Slaanesh are one of the best armies, the problem is that building and painting 88 blissbarb archers has made people quit the hobby so they don't do great in stats 😅
As a Skaven main myself, I can't really argue with your points. Was initially confused why you put them at S tier, but the Masterclan Pestilens list really is stupid strong. Other clans have certainly have their strengths, but they're generally all just glass cannon setups. Skyre/ Moulder are more A/B territory, while Eshin feels like its more C tier.

You can add to the 5+ ignore to make it 4+, 3+. You're not likely to go beyond that, but since it can be done at the end of any hero phase, it can happen pretty quickly. Yes it costs 5 points, but really that'll pay for itself. OBR "mid" even though it wins all the tournaments.... Sure.... Tell me you're biased without telling me you're biased. I thought this was an objectively competitive ranking, not your opinion. It's not that the ogor heroes are too expensive, it's that they suck. 5+ save. Speaking of armies that have no variety. StD. 45 warscrolls and there's 7-8 good ones. Dude 🤣 haha wow. Skaven is not that strong. Skabikk makes you not be able to contest objectives? Not really, do 10 wounds to a 6+ save and the prayer no longer does anything. Sure plague censer bearers are dumb and triple bell is hard to deal with, but it's not obliterating tournaments. So I don't know what data you're looking at other than your own experience? That's not at all competitive if you ask me. Otherwise if I didnt comment on something you said it's because I generally agree and you made good points.
My issue is so many armies are very match up dependent, get a good one and chances of winning rocket. Get a bad one and you rely on your opponent messing up. At the moment it's my major frustration with AoS
Also the gap between S and B Tier is so huge that there is sometimes no reason to actually try to really win, if you happen to bring one of those armies…

I play a lot of KO and I would say what you said about Skaven that we don’t have any bad match ups, just less optimal ones. we make the other armies have to adjust to us and we can still play our game, and we can in a way that no other army can dictate if we want to commit every single unit or retreat everything.
It gives you a wizard for a turn 1 battle tactic, which khorne has trouble with. The sigil of tzeentch is incredibly good and probably the best endless spell in the game. You can make spawns in the enemies shooting units or in units that want to charge. This can potentially lock down high amounts of damage or stop battle tactics that rely on charges or even stop the enemy from taking objectives. Then they have to kill the spawns and you generate blood tithe.
@@corbinwinsor225 You can also hit your own Khorne units with it and on a 3+ ignore and generate more blood tithe. The thing is just a crazy farm for it.
He means including the Coven of Thryx Regiment of Renown in a Khorne army, along with Skarr Bloodwrath. The Magister and the Burning Sigil create Chaos Spawns that you add to your army and then simply suicide them and Skarr over and over for a wealth of Blood Tithe and summoning etc

Is Suffocating Gravetide too short of range to help deal with Clanrats on the cheap? The range and move seem clunky at flying over hordes of rats. Also possibly Weirdbrute Wrekkaz vs the Clanrats for Iron Jaws. 25 more points than the rats but their output is pretty high.
When you say nerfed do you mean when there new book came out? I am asking because I am wanting to get into AoS and I am a bit worried if I have to find other supplements for the army as well. As in where do I find them etc.
Man, as a Skaven player for 8 months, I'm gonna tell your right now we are FAR FAR from being over-powered. On paper sure we have alot of stuff, but it's only really viable IF it works and IF your opponent doesn't do literally anything. Lemme explain: (Keep in mind, this is from 1000pt army perspective, as no store in my city does AoS at 2000pts except for tourneys) We get outshot by KO even with two cannons and no amount of screening can stop a flying B-52 bomber. Also forget about More-more warp power cause they can just auto unbind. Seraphon can literally charge through screens of clan rats and eat your leaders, and even the basic saurus warriors can simply chew up a unit of clan rats in one turn unless you take them reinforced. Also, their leaders buff the hell out of their stuff so good luck trying to score points when Koxigars are unkillable monsters on objectives. Finally, I had a game where against Slaves to Darkness, I sent 20 plague monks with Rabid-rabid and foetide blades on the charge against his Lord, and did 42 attacks, several at minus 2 rend. Sounds cool right? Not so cool when out of all those attacks 3 actually make wounds, and then on his turn, just heals it all for his heroic action. If we get nerfed, 1000pt Skaven armies will basically become unplayable, and even 2000pt is a struggle for us 😭
Whats the right way to make desicions when playing comptetitive AOS? I know thats like a vague concept - but theres got to be some basic run down or checklist that high level players use to identify main threats, board state and choose battle tactics right?
The army always had a bit of a damage problem and the nerfs just made it worse unfortunately. Still playable but it's very much an uninteractive tactic scorer sort of army in a lot of matchups.
Fascinating. Why would you ever play this garbage if not for the spectaculqr miniatures. So many good games to choose from if you don't care about the minis.

@@smugybear No you cant. Khornes spell ignore is very specifically only for enemy spells and endless spells.
