I'm a full-time biology college student, and my life has gotten stressful.
I have good grades, but my main reason why i dislike school is because of how they force people with social anxiety to do a presentation in public. Because i have social anxiety and my teacher gave me a 3/10 just because i did the presentation privately with him, like it's not my fault I'm very anxious about being judged... Maybe try and help me with my social anxiety in tiny steps instead of forcing me to do a presentation in public knowing how judgemental my classmates are.
it's also because i have been touched inappropriately and being catcalled by my classmates as a so called "joke" a lot of times and I felt really uncomfortable when they did that to me + the teachers didn't do anything when i told them about it but normally they would act up when someone is chewing gum in their mouth.
@@R4INB0WSGL4MI swear to god teachers dont give a shit about problematic students (disordered people, bullying or IPad kids), they have their favourite students and pay all the attention to them. There is also a case where the class has like 3-4 bad students that can very likely fail the final exam, but they cant see that these students literally tell "f... off". Yet all other and good students are left behind, with lowered grades that they should be and no actual attention as the teacher actually cares about the whole class rather just a few people
The fact that a decent chunk of the problems in this video are because of crappy teachers really does suck a lot. It’s exactly why I want to be a teacher, because I truly believe every student needs at least one positive role model teacher.
The thing about school (At least in the US) is that 1. Its funding system is really bad (Most of the school’s money comes from the area’s taxes. If this is a low income area, however, the school doesn’t have the money to provide a decent education because they don’t have the money for it), 2. Teachers are underpaid, 3. Bad parents (I mean, we all know what IPad kids are right? What happens when they start school? Also, it seems parents expect teachers to teach children life skills like manners or being polite. That’s not a teacher’s job, that’s the parent’s job), and 4. Standardised Testing (In the pursuit of passing hundred of tests, the idea of actually UNDERSTANDING a concept rather than KNOWING it is completely lost).
At least, that’s my thoughts. Maybe I’m just stupid because I didn’t pay attention in class.

Fun fact as someone who works in healthcare...the amount of suicide patients we get directly correlates with a few school seasons, one is the start of school...next is testing time...next for some reason is the week before spring break and winter break...

I know! When my parents were in school they didn’t learn how to diagram sentences *and now I have to do it?* It’s really frustrating that they make us learn how to do things that were once way ahead of our grade, but now we have to do it because the school system just likes to make things harder for students.

I think this is a good thing (learning part) but the problem with schools is they really rush the syllabus. I just wish they slowed down a bit.
the idea of school is a very good one. have kids, which are at the prime of their learning capabilities, all in the same place to teach them about the world around them and how it works. the problems is that it needs A LOT to go right for it to work properly. one of those things that need to work is money, except nobody wants to pay that money, least of all the government (they'd rather throw it at spyware, military, and highways). which means worse teachers that don't make any effort to make their subject fun to learn and just expect the kids to pay attention (and the OTHER kind of bad teacher i will not be describing), no effort against bullies, which makes some student hate people in general, not just school, less then appetizing lunch, among other things. add on top of that the bad/busy parents that expect the bad teachers to raise their kids and you have a receipe for a good idea turning into a disaster.

Idea of school we have now is that school should create mental slaves used to following orders without question.
This model started in prussia where it served state to brainwash obident citizens working in factories and fighting state wars.
Sitting in classrooms for 5-8hours listening to teachers who usually read stuff from often flawed schoolbooks that waste rescources and which are against school being free dont serve learning but help state in breaking and molding Kids into its loyal properity.
How well it works depends on how efficient is state
So essentially your arguement only boils down to. Reason 1. Schools don't have enough funding. Reason 2. Students can't be bothered to learn (skill issue in my opinion). Reason 3. Teachers at best put in the minimun effort; they get underpaid, so being good doesn't matter and this ruins school because no one is putting in enough effort or money.
i mean, at least in my country like 70-90% of things teached at schools is useless in times when you have access to same knowledge and its not some survival knowledge only specilised knowledge. school should teach us things we need to learn like basic survival and financial skills, especially in high school. a child only really needs to know how to read and do math efficiently. the other subjects are just a waste of time for people who aren't into them.

I feel like History/Geography needs to be included more and pushed forward. I'm a geography/history buff and seeing people surprised that Africa isn't a country (IN THE HIGHER LEVEL HISTORY CLASS MIND YOUUUU) makes me worried about where this country is heading.

I could actually related to that fr! You see, as a quiet student and the innocent shy person who isn't always a social butterfly because of lack of socializing and poor communication and I still have friends who support me who aren't that bad and mean that will understand my feelings, issues unlike my classmates, teachers and family members. Most people at school doesn't seem want to be friended me with a quiet person. But at home I wasn't a quiet child at all, you see I don't always act the same when I am at home vs. At school days. I'm okay going out on public such as shopping on malls, supermarket etc. I'm still a teen struggling in life, still learning from this cruel world we are living in. Society is bad and even when schools has rules such as no fighting, bullying, no weapons, vaping, drugs etc. My high school and other schools as well still caught up doing it. Students becoming criminals, hiding drugs (to sell to other minors) in their uniforms/bags and sometimes devices and possible weapons and stabbing kids on a fight.
My mother wouldn't understand that her mother was abusive and not sympathy/empathy, understanding she is, and doesn't seem like no emotional intelligence at all. As I grew up in a household with a complicated family (relationship) and religious problems between my mom and my family, even I. My mother ended up with a wrong man who she haven't been married to him for much years, decades ago and then they have me before marriage. Then few years ago, my biological parent male made a fool of my mother as I seen him posted evidence on social media that he finally married to another woman that ik. 2nd, I was inappropriately touched by my parent (not my mother) when I was around preteens 11-12 ~ "I felt upset, curious, -blank- and disgusted. Why did he done that?! As I tried to pushed away from his arms he had me *what the hell is gone into him?!* it's like a devil controlling his mind and body, and I didn't know what's going on, until I realized I was touched inappropriately. I didn't know what to say, my mother was closed to the room, doing her cleaning business and I didn't know what to do, I was worried and concerned that what if she finds out. Well I guess she didn't know about around that time because she didn't see anything. Well she did the right thing to give up with him.

At my school you don’t even have to fight back. If you were involved in a fight, you get 3 days ISS, doesn’t matter if you got beat up and couldn’t fight back, they don’t care.
Story: I was using the school bathroom during passing period (rookie move, I know) and when I went to open the stall door, someone was blocking it, so I rammed it 3 times to try and get out. On the 3rd time, the guy had moved away, and it hit him. He then got mad, held me by me armpits up against the wall (leaving marks) and then chased me in the hallway where two teachers had to grab him. And for some God Forsaken reason, I got pass (basically detention) he did too, but why did I get it? Because He acted like a fool and blocked me in? I was God-d@mn horrified and then they gave me detention.

I agree with this. School wasn’t my happy place. In 7th grade, which was 3 years ago, ppl bullied me all the time even tho I was a very friendly boy. I felt suicidal and stuff like that :(
And in 4/6th grade, I had sexist teachers who talked bad bout boys, which is just not ok.
Because of the bullying and stuff, in second semester 8th grade and on, I started homeschooling. School just isn’t a good place.

Same, nearly every single one of my classes talk forever. The teacher can yell and they start right back. Not only are they loud, but annoying. One kid tells me to shut up even if I answer a question he asked, and another kid won't stop insulting people and making annoying noise. And overall I just feel out of place, like the only guy who knows when to listen.

No matter HOW fun schools make themselves… I don’t know. I’d be happy.. but what am I working towards here? I already see adults struggling out in the “real” world, so I’m kinda js waiting til I have to work my ass off til I drop dead at my desk. But I guess I would LOVE learning if it was actually interactive and entertaining, even if I’d only have so much of that fun before it got taken away. WE GET DETENTION FOR BEING LATE TO THE NEXT CLASS AND I HAVE HER 4 TIMES A WEEK AND SHE CALLED A BLACK KID A MONKEY AND THE N-WORD AND GIVES THE ASIAN KID HALF TIME ON ASSIGNMENTS. She is so racist, also sexist and is apparently a pdf file (checks out cus I saw her having shrex with a kid and I got suspended for 2 weeks because of it). Also when this year's year 7 class was learning about shrex she got completely naked and asked if someone wanted to demonstrate how it works (seriously why is she allowed 1km near a school)

A lot of people say and claim that if we did not have school we wouldn’t have any knowledge, but never once do they mention that before school was invented there were astronomers, scientists, engineers, artists, and mathematicians so I want everyone to ask themselves; do we really need school now I don’t want people saying “no” I want people to give me a reasonable explanation to why I am wrong because if no one can explain why I am wrong then I will continue to make my claim and stay with it until someone can prove me wrong

I agree man this system is out dated. Maybe back in the 1950s this shit worked out for people but now with inflation rising and housing becoming more expensive and new adults coming out of high school learning no new skills to help them out in the real world, it just isn’t working. It’s kinda stupid too humans as a species has evolved and now we got all the worlds information in our pocket(phone) we don’t need to push out school anymore. im honestly the opposite, the students in high school are definitely worse but i enjoy high school more since some of the teachers have actual emotions instead of only being fully positive, obviously high schools where everyone is super serious and never does anything fun is bad, but sometimes it’s nice to have teachers that act like human beings.

School has some major problems. The only two classes I don't see bullying in is science and band. Science because the teacher will genuinely damage you whole career if you talk during class when you're not supposed to, and band because every band teacher has the wrath of a God and the powers to go along with one. My band teacher fucking teleports I swear, he despawns and respoawns. He is a fucking npc. The rest of the classes have bullying in em. Ive heard people yelling at a Trans kid "Im TrAnS" over and over before out in the hallway during reading and the teacher did nothing. I've dealt with some bullying many times before. Some people would yell "GYAT" at me during gym continuously and face no repercussions even though they where technically swearing. If I try and stand up for myself the bully usually plays victim and I get in trouble. I hope these issues get fixed in the near future.

It's wild that a good portion of the school problems is either the teachers being forced to teach for a test that's pretty much the same test year after year so you don't learn anything or the under stimulation that causes bullying and "attention disorders" not all people learn the same way but schools are designed to not care about that at all and only cater to a certain learning style even if the teaching ends around 5th or 6th grade where the only time you'll learn anything new or useful is on your own time witch they then limit your own time by making you take the nonsense home and work on it there the education system does not care about your learning or well being as long as you can pass the test that only changes in form every few years

@@MemeOlution In 5th grade I had one of those annoying teachers who blames everything on the internet, like when we said “satisfying” she would scream at us saying that “we were using it wrong”, she also put WAY too much pressure on this one kid who was a slow worker.
The worst part is that I was forced into her class because they “wanted to give me help with writing” (FYI the 5th grade hallway had 6 teachers, 2 ELAR, 2 math, and 2 science. Each side had 1 of each teacher for the respective subject. At the start of 5th grade, I was on the other side without the science teacher, and like 2 months before the first semester ended, they switched me over to the side with the teacher, got it?)
The school I go to is also bad at handling with bullies,one time some kid tried beating up my friend over a game and the teachers did nothing to that kid but instead punished me and my friends for making him mad by not allowing us to not play the game anymore.Teachers nowadays 💀💀💀💀
Part of the problem is that teachers don't want to deal with bitchy parents of a student they want to punish. Instead, they roam free with no punishment.
I am forever grateful that my mom was able to homeschool me and my two siblings for a few years. We had all gone to public school for a long time, and eventually we grew tired of the bullying. Also, the math curriculum we used came with videos that took you through equations step by step, and that was much more helpful than anything the teachers in public school did

I got traumatized from school in kindergarten because I was unfairly punished multiple times (for forgetting things), unfortunately that means I have to constantly be on guard because my teachers love overreacting to things and believe in "community punishment" which means I have to constantly pick up after my classmates so I don't have to relive that moment, unfortunately I'm also scared that when I'm picking up after them, a teacher will come in and misinterpret my actions as rule-breaking. If I ever have kids, I'm homeschooling them and telling them that regular school is horrible so they homeschool their potential kids. Sorry for the rant.

True story a teacher of mine tried to get me arrested.
And another one wouldn't get a kid to shut up and even during a lock down allowed the students to stomp and scream but when I yelled to get them all to quite down she screamed at me like "You're yelling during a lock down!"
And on graduation day it dawned on me how depressing my school years were and I tried to resist but I cried and a staff member came up to me and asked me if I was crying because i would no longer be going to school I said no and she said oh, then walked away... never came back, not another word or anything...
Been learning stuff lately in school that I have 100% sure are useless in life (at least in the majority of scenarios)
I'm in the 11th grade. I've been stressed due to how much work since my school switched to the 7- period system for only 4 days a week. Now granted, I barely get homework but sometimes I feel that we are expected too much to get so much done. It's close to summer break, and I regret not doing some of the work I'm expected to do. Puts a lot of pressure on the shoulders. A lot of the assignments on computers, but it takes time to do it as on paper...
Okay but what about the fact the teachers arent getting paid enough for this mess nowadays? 🥺
Most means well and its rare to get teachers who just don't...teach, leaves their jobs when their students needs them most, let alone don't do their jobs well for various reasons.
(Unless your me because teschers leaving us was very common during my Kindergarten to 8th grade years in school 😒)

On my country teachers on daily basis break laws, and make up 80% of their own work by giving homeworks and making countless tests why there are no official reuqirments for this.
Yet they complain that they have too much work while smarter ones dont waste time on tests and homeworks and dont complain and admit to having a lot of free time 😂

I’m an 8th grader. And honestly school is very stressful, most the time I get the stuff done immediately so that I don’t have to worry about it and get my brain fried. I even do wrestling, MMA, and other sports causing more brain frying about the work. 💀

This reminds me of multiple situations in my life. The times I got bullied and the school did nothing. The time I was being chased around for an entire recess by a bunch of kids calling me names and I had a literal mental breakdown and was trying to rip them all apart and the school finally realized it was going too far. The times I was SA’d in school and the school promised they would talk to the kids about it and they did nothing. All of the unacceptable teachers and bus drivers they hired that made it seem like they were trying to punish children for being alive. I could go on for a while, so here are just a few examples. Anyways, schools are terrible and mine is slowly but surely getting rid of summer break and there’s nothing I can do about it……. _yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay_ ……………..

As a student I say that I'm bloody thankful for school. It gives me SOME kind of future. Every bigger man before 19th century was educated and school gave it to everybody. I consider half of these "depressed" students as overreacting. The other half is truly depressed. The problem are governments neglecting the education and not the actual school

Right now I have a teacher who told us that we’d have time to finish an assignment at the beginning of the next class period and then the next day told us that she never said that and made us lose points for not doing our homework, and told us to check the online resources if we ever weren’t sure if we had homework.
One day I wasn’t sure if we had homework or not, so I checked the online page, and it said we didn’t have any. The next day, I walk into class, and we had homework. The teacher proceeds to tell me, “You shouldn’t have checked the online page, you should have been paying attention in class”.
Reason why people find school boring is because it became mandatory. Before that such things as learning was quiet rare and only an elites wherr able to afford that, or even being able to access it. Now it become widespread to the point that it's hard to find unique since everyone have access to it now. So it's not a surprise that they find it boring since there is nothing special about being educated anymore. Only exception are poor countries or regions of thoes countries that have less access to it, but appreciating when they do able to have it.
Weird teacher's are quiet a problem, but that also comes from the fact of widespreading since schools hire a lot of people to cover all the subjects in school resulting in grabbing whoever there is on market.
Schools are also focusing on non-teacing stuff such as teaching politics or stuff that country want to tell to kids. Teachers have different opinions on life, so it's no surprise that they start tell kids completely different stuff from each other, resulting them growing with mixed opinions about the life and politics.
Bro for real I wanted to learn how to write CV’s for jobs, do cooking classes more often and financial lessons but INSTEAD I end up learning about all the LGBTQ genders, religion and getting bullied for liking Nintendo.
I'm surprised that College Board or college in general wasn't mentioned, especially when the parts about money came up

In that case I’d expect you to know the difference between “there” and “their”.
