Does it matter if you use a keyed shaft?
You have to use a keyed shaft. If you don't there's nothing locking the wheels or the sprocket into the axle so you likely have a scenario where the shaft or sprocket is spinning freely but you're not moving. You could weld the wheels and sprocket to the shaft but the heat might warp it then you'll have alot of vibration and it would be a nightmare to change the wheels if needed. You could go the route of a dead axle cart then your shaft doesn't move and you have the sprocket attached directly to one wheel only and the wheel itself has a bearing and not the whole shaft. It's much cheaper but doesnt' do so well if you go offroad as traction sucks.

What is the width from the end of one tire to the end of the other tire? Also what is the diameter of that keyed shaft?
36 inch keyed shaft also 36 inch from 1 tire to another

yes tats correct all the stuff is from princess auto its actually not called an axle but a keyed shaft
what kit is that, link it please
its not a kit, but all parts are bought from princess auto except for the nuts and bolts
It's not a live axle if other wheel free spins
