I honestly didn't think too much of the spear at first. As I started using it more, after getting a really strong drop, I found the speed to be incredibly fun and its become one of my favorite playstyles in the game
I’m surprised that neither in the guide nor in the comments the C6 exploit was mentioned. It breaks this weapon and makes it one of the best WPG breakers in the game After starting C6 you keep pressing ZL and there’s a repetitive hitbox in front of link that does insane amount of damage
A lot of maps have you running through long stretches of hallway like areas, which makes Link’s spear even more fun to play with! I love charging through the enemy lines and having them fly in the air!
I am too i am doing a second playthrough because i did not understand any of the combos on my first for a long time. I need to make a proper build for it
It's a bit similar in terms of DPM although you don't get the special move recharge as her. However, you can build at least three/four different builds with spears and they all work very well. I went all out with range and it was super funny.
Spear has a funny Glitch on C6. Holding guard during And after C6 causes the enemy to get hit with a bunch of phantom Rapid fire hits. It does a good amount of damage as well. The funny part is that the enemy you hit goes into Maximum Overdrive and moves like 100% faster than they should.
@@junglejuicejuno Use the 5X and then Y while holding ZL (block), then Link will have a hitbox in front of him hitting the enemies for a ton of damage bery rapidly. Keep on mind this glitch accelerates the enemies by double, so they will recover faster from stunning. Basically once you finish the X and use the Y Link will jump in the air in his C6. If you use ZL at that moment the glitch activates. It's extremely brutal but dangerous because of the enemies recovering faster.
It would be really cool to see an extra segment for each tutorial that shows you killing a difficult foe, like Calamity Ganon. This will help viewers see all of the play style strengths in practice together. Great guides! Really hoping this game gets more content soon.
Best spear damage is 170, which is quite nice honestly. It's very funny the fighting style with spears and it's also not that important the speed attack ++ compared to other weapons, I have a couple of builds, from range to flurry rush and all of them work surprisingly well.
The spear has a glitch, when you perform your c6 if you block right at the end the hitbox stays active for a longer time I saw it in peco's stream (Sorry for my english)

The Royal Halberd might not be the best spear anymore, because the Savage Lionel Spear has a ridiculously good growth rate, capable of reaching 281 power if I'm correct. About 60 power higher. Furthermore, with the last DLC, you can now remove hidden seals and customize the weapon even further.
I thought at first I wasn't using it right because it was so simple, and by all the other characters you listed they were way more complex than I gave them credit for, but with this guide, I see I wasn't that far off... Guess it's just weird going from one hand to spear or two hand
When you show Hidden Seals for the Halberd, the Attack Range seal has the Attack Speed icon. You may want to fix that, because it could confuse some people.
I feel like, in a subtle way, that KOEI Tecmo made Link's fighting style with the Spear to be somewhat like a combination of both Yukimura Sanada's and Zhao Yun's styles, the Poster boys/characters of their Main Title series, "Dynasty Warriors" & "Samurai Warriors" Atleast, that's how I see it and I rather enjoy using the spears
The spear, along with several characters namely kohga and the great fairies, are movesets that I will never understand how to use. I simply can't get it enjoyable for myself, im way more of a rush down player. Its very weird hearing people talking about how good and strong these are when I can't get the same results. Nonetheless, very great video and I can't wait for more!
The first game received a ton of DLC, and while I doubt AoC will receive as much, I'm sure they will at least eventually add Astor and Sooga as playable characters. There's also Purah and Robbie. Beyond those, however, who knows?
Do you plan on making a guide to getting max power weapons? I can't even find a list of what the top base power levels ARE so i know when I've found one...
Terrako is so fun. My advice is to charge his special (ZR) while using his attack strings. it can be released at any point without interrupting his attacks, and his strong attacks change how he shoots it.
Of all his weapon styles, spear is the best imo. Its fast and powerful enough to get the job done without any odd gimmicks to worry about. His sword+shield is too boring and slow imo and the 2-handed weapons are fun but has a bit too much going on for my tastes on such a basic character you have to drag around everywhere on the story missions like Link.
Imo the spear is one of the strongest in the game, though not quite the level of broken-ness that his other weapons and the great fairies achieve. Super high speed, damage, and very effective at forcing weak points, it doesn’t really have a weakness
@@hydromobile8729 oh I agree I think the spear is better than impa. I think impa’s very good but not anywhere near broken. Her clones and regular attack string are fantastic but most of her combos aren’t great, her area clearing isn’t all that, and she doesn’t really have a way to force weak point gauges
@@mcbanana1473 If you play splitscreen somebody can have sidon and then use stasis but if you are playing alone you just have to wait until the weak point gauge opens and link spear is really underrated probably because they dont know how to use they and probably say this you just stab the aponent and that's it but it is the best dmg dealer in the game
The spear is fine as a weapon, I just don't like it's playstyle. Which sucks because spears are actually my favorite weapon type in BotW. On the other hand, his two handed weapon, which was my least favorite in BotW, is my favorite of his in this game. Funny how that happens, right?
NOTE: Just to let you know, if you Dodge Cancel Spear Link’s last Combo (C6) when in Mid Air, it will leave a 5 Second Hit Box of continuous Thrusting which does A LOT of Damage. Its best for WPG Shredding, better than C4 XD

All you need to know: Magnesis is a built in Lightning Rod. Use it and the enemy will take damage.

If You do c6 gaurding at the right time will do masivve dmg so the spear is impa level maybe better
