In 1937, for the first time, Ford Trucks had their own styling, which was very distinctive from the Ford car line. Design wise, Ford had definitely stepped ahead of the competition with its new grille, split windshield and completely redesigned cab. Your Revell model features a stock flat head V-8 or custom manifold with dual carbs and high compression heads, vintage truck wheels and tires or steel wheels with dog dish hub caps, a '38 grille and hood, optional headlights, wood stake sides, lowered suspension, dual exhaust and surf board. Authentic decals for factory stock and custom graphics are also included.
    Features
Stock flat head V-8 or custom manifold with dual carburetors and high compression heads.
’38 grille and hood, optional headlights, wood stake sides, lowered suspension, dual exhaust.
Two sets of wheels and tires.
    Surfboard.
Molded in white, clear and transparent red with chrome plated parts and soft black tires.
    Revell 854516 85-4516 RMX4516 4516
The Ford line of cars was updated in 1937 with one major change - the introduction of an entry-level 136 CID (2.2 L) V8 in addition to the popular 221 CID (3.6 L) flathead V8. The model was a refresh of its predecessor, the Model 48 (itself based on the Model 40A), and was the company's main product. It was redesigned more thoroughly in 1941. At the start of production, it cost US$850 ($15,302 in 2020 dollars [2]). The Ford Line bore several model numbers during this period: For domestic 1937 production in the United States Ford Model Numbers for 85 hp V-8 equipped cars was Model 78 and 60 hp V-8 cars was Model 74. Models 81A and 82A in 1938, and Models 91A and 92A in 1939.
The 1937 Ford featured a more rounded look with fine horizontal bars in the convex front and hood-side grilles. The front grille was V-shaped, rather than following the fenders into a pentagon shape, as on the 1936 model. Faired-in headlights installed in the front fenders were a major modernization found on both the Standard and DeLuxe trim versions, and the introduction of an all steel top for the passenger compartment. The Standard could be distinguished from the DeLuxe by the body color radiator grilles and windshield frames while the DeLuxe had walnut woodgrain window mouldings and exterior trim brightwork, and a woodgrain finish applied to the interior window trim.[1] A larger water pump was used to help aid in cooling.[3] 'Slantback' sedans gained a rear trunk door, though space was limited, and 'Trunkback' versions continued gaining sales. The station wagon had seating for eight passengers. A 4-door "convertible sedan" with roll up windows was offered in small numbers in the DeLuxe series.[4] Also, new seats were used.
Introduced in 1935, Ford's Model 50 pickup shared many of the styling updates that applied to the brand's passenger-car lineup for the same model year. It was powered exclusively by the legendary Ford flathead V-8. Production of the successful model came to a halt in 1941, when Ford shifted its considerable production might to benefit the war effort. By that time Ford had produced more than four million trucks.

I've built a couple of the earlier releases of this kit. One of my favorite kits. It goes together so easy that it might as well come pre-assembled. It's a great slump buster kit also.

And that's the way all dashboard gages should be designed for models imo. Perfect. I've been thinking that the next time I have gage decals I should drill out the holes for them in the dashboard and mount the gage decals on a spare piece of flat styrene and glue them in just as shown here. Very nice kit. Also, nice demo of how to use modge podge for the windows. Tyvm. Really nice job.

You do an amazing job with the detail you put into the models you build, and you give a great review of the kits, along with tips for building them. As always, thanks for sharing.

You must have boxes of extra parts lying around after all the kits I've seen you build. It would be cool to see if you could put together a sort of "junkyard dog" just improvising and using spare parts. Sort of like a teenager living near a scrapyard with a small budget and a lot of ingenuity'. Great job on this Ford!

Another amazing build ! These trucks are very rare nowadays. I have only seen one 1937 Ford Pickup in my life. It was blue. I really like how you did the Sage Green with the black fenders. I already have an idea for how I would paint mine if I can get my hands on this one. I would go with a Stock build and go for a little darker shade of green with black fenders and paint the stock wheels a pretty yellow. And I would use those beautiful wooden bed rails. And I really like the " Lemon Grove " decals ( makes me want to drink a cold glass of lemonade as I'm building it ! ) And I used to work in the produce department of a small grocery store years ago. Can't wait to get my hands on this one ! Awesome build as always Chris ! Keep up the good work ! Thumbs up !

"Shaka... when the walls fell" - you know, it's been a while since I saw that and I've forgotten what that meant, but happily the captain figured it out so that's ok :)
I must say, your skill with the spray can is really impressive to me (most impressive 😉) you seem to have worked out exactly how to get the right amount of paint on without flooding the part. Even using an airbrush I'm still prone to such errors. More practice on my part I think.
    Take care. Thanks :)

Very impressive detailing and your color choices are perfect in my eyes! Really looks like a fun kit to build. I do like the gauge idea, going behind rather than stuck in.
Please tell me my vision was obscured by lighting, but it appears the inner cowl sides under the hood are gray, not sage, in the photos at the end. Is that something we need to be aware of when painting the interior tub?
You do such a great job with detailing, I hate to say anything about the paint. I can see myself overlooking something like that, and then wonder how to fix it.

For those who wish to add more detailed wheels on this kit as an upgrade and improvement;over the no name wheels that comes in the kit,Round2 Models sells a 1/25 scale stock and custom tire set,for AMT,MPC,and Lindberg automotive kits;but can be kit bashed with other 1/25 scale kit manufacturers. The biasply stock and custom tire set from AMT;are fully branded as either Goodyear or Firestone continentals that are whitewall for the stock biasply tires, and red stripe for the custom biasply tires.
So you have two different wheel options in the AMT tire set to choose from.
