Woah, Luminous, this is really, really good! There's a kind of dark and sinister presence here that's quite different from the more lively and adventurous feel of many of your other songs, and it really speaks to your versatility as a musician.
I love that supporting layer that has what I would describe as a fizzy, acidic kind of texture - perfect for an Earthbound remix, and especially for the theme of a water-dwelling creature. And those detuned string synths/supersaws really add an unsettling feel to the mix. Also, that constant 16th note rhythm in that low-mid-range synth is awesome, how it sort of undulates in and out, with a constant (de)crescendo... I love the wide variety of sounds here - you really maxed out on the instrumentation!
I'm also a big fan of that chimey instrument that has a music box-like quality to it, which I first noticed at 1:29. I feel like music boxes or one of those instruments that can either make a song sound cute or horrifying, depending on the context. And there are other parts with crystalline textures used throughout that have kind of an eerie vibe, which further add to the atmosphere.
I also like the filtered percussion you used here, and it definitely did make a difference! It sounds less bright, and more on the gritty and dark side. The snare used here is really cool, too, with an intense "doom march" sound that reminds me of the snare used in Star Fox SNES. Awesome job on the percussion and drums, and the extra tweaks you added to shape the sound further put in a lot of work here!
Man, your music just keeps getting better and better - and I'm happy to see your efforts rewarded as your channel continues to grow steadily. Keep it up, Luminous! 🌟

      Thanks again for listening, Equalyze!
I’m glad you noticed the musical texture I was trying to create throughout the song. I was going for an atmospheric/ambient tone, so I’m glad that I was able to convey that :)
btw, congrats 🎉 on 300 subs! you deserve each and every one of them, dude :D

@@LuminousVale Hey, I really enjoy your music, so it's honestly a treat for me to listen. And thanks for the congratulatory words! I had a lucky surge of support these past couple of weeks. :)
Also, I was exploring the rest of your channel, and I saw my name under the category of people you're not subscribed to, but still like a lot. I'm flattered, but at the same time... oof! 💀

After Sony took the soundtrack down, I've forgot how unique this soundtrack is with all the ambiance, echo-y vibe.
    *And you nailed it.*

I think the main leitmotif needs to be louder. Aside from that, really good.

      Thanks!
I probably could’ve gave the ostinato some “meat and bones”, in retrospect (probably should’ve made the drums quieter too). I was listening to the original, and noticed that it was much more prominent there. I’ll try to keep in mind these things when doing future remixes.
      Appreciate the feedback :)
