J Boss61 nahh his criticism is valid. Charron is a genius when it comes to freestyling, flips, and scheming off the top. But as far as putting together top tier quality rounds, there is something lacking. Diz pretty much just points out the things that hold Charron back from being one of the best battlers

Dizaster pointing out the poignancy on the Trevor D Custom Jewelry bar is legit. Pat creates the perfect set up for a bar that would normally fall under a category of being too specific (in this case, a bar which is too deeply rooted in battle rap culture), and renders it understandable and a "Hit" of a bar to a wide audience. In other words, because of Pat Stay's set up, knowing Trevor D Custom Jewelry was once a primary sponsor of KOTD is only an additional pay-off for long term fans, not the end-all be-all of Pat's punch. This is the perfect example of good writing vs bad writing which Diz hampers on multiple times throughout the battle. Edit: I don't watch a lot of these, but really enjoyed Diz's contributions. Don't know if that's common on here, but the level of analysis on the critiques was insightful and entertaining.

Pat's first verse from the jump was the essence of rap - outside of battling; something that can hold its weight to fans outside of battling. It was art and lyricism. It was better written than anything Charron did, even if his stuff was more "clever." Being smart gets you so far, being artistic and masterful gets you equally as far, if both are done to the same caliber in their respective fields.

It's Regent Park not Regis Park, and that flip was crazy. Pat said the Jane and Flinch line so Charron flipped it using a different Toronto hood. He knew the crowd would eat the DMX shit up, took the gas right out of Pat's joke. Diz always says you should rebuttal your opponent's strongest moments. Charron did that perfectly, who cares that the setup wasn't perfect, it's freestyle. Pat still washed Charron in my opinion but that flip deserves more credit, that was crazy.
I highly doubt that was a rebuttal.. he had a BUNCH of “you’re a crack head” bars. & that was about him losing his chain, mostly.. not a rebuttal. BIG STRETCH
The topic about whether a sports bar is "good", or how to judge the quality, permeates what I believe is the problem with battle rap as a whole. It's almost impossible to objectively judge two battlers in a style clash type battle. If two people are of similar styles, and their bars have similar content, then judges who essentially "get" the "inside" jokes those people might reference (whether sports, music, boxing, video games, movies, etc etc) can judge each performance equally. But in style clashes, or when judges aren't on the "in" for what one person might reference, it's impossible. An example would be one battler has a killer scheme/round/bar about Lord of the Rings. To someone who understands it, it might be the most complex fire bar in existence. To people who aren't huge fans, it's going to sound and be mediocre. So it's forcing the culture to basically choose between basic, easily accessible but usually not crazily complex bars that most everyone would get versus super deep, specific bars that everyone might not get. At that point, which is better? A simple bar that everyone gets and reacts to, or a complex bar that only certain people get a react to? It's a weird dance that battlers have to walk, essentially choosing the audience they want to perform for.
Empire Lifts Back Cuz Apple makes the iPhone and people play games on them but I think it was just a straight forward bar anyway like no metaphor to it

I think the “when this blade I throw goes into your apple it’s game over.” I think it’s a mortal kombat reference, Kanos fatality is something like that I think…
Keep in mind Pat got Organik to ban Hollohan from the stage, which 80% of Charron's 3rd was based around that angle. Charron had to scrap the majority of his 3rd because of this. That whole "mad right now" scheme was freestyled, the angle about him being autistic was originally scrapped, etc.
Pat is genius at interweaving prior or current angles and schemes with double meaning bars and double entendres: “I’m Rocky II, you’re trying to play Apollo. Its telling you something Corey: It’s time to change your boxers.” As in change your boxers from Apollo to Rocky like you should (who Pat’s comparing himself to) as well as tying in the dirty boxers angle from earlier. You know what rhymes with Dizaster's preferences? I dunno, like faster sentences... But this is actually great to see how Diz's mind works through his own "rules to rapping the best handbook". His standards are borderline obsessive in areas, and incredible all at once. I feel like his eventual spawn will grow up to be an astrophysicist/ successful mainstream rapper, with a noble peace prize and an oscar earned along the way...
Nah, he has a ton of respect for Charron. He knows he's more than capable of doing better. I mean he bodied DNA on 4 hours notice. Shit, afaik Charron has only clearly lost freestyling or super short notice to 1 guy.(Saurus like 4 times lol) The critiques would be way different if they watched one of his smack battles or something more recent.
He literally says that he thinks charron beat tay rock and suge, he gave him a lot of credit and said he was good and that this battle he was off. He even says that he himself has had terrible performances. @ 39:00
Of all the recurring schemes that are (mainly) overused, I think Pat's "He's mad right now" is definitely one of the best and he's able to make it new most of the time.
Diz was yappin all dat shit about Charron's "royal flush" scheme before he delivered it saying it's predictable etc.........then went on to get it wrong xD
Epitome of Canadian battle rap? What about Bender/Arcane? Also important to note that Charron threw the first round on purpose. His strategy from the start was to win rounds 2 and 3, and his 3rd round was also a throwaway angle he pulled out because of the Hollohan drama.
Kyle rocking the anticon sweatshirt. Loved the No Brakes vid. Less is Orchestra was best album of last year! Not as into their current lineup but Dose One is top of my list as far as creatives w prolific output. Underrated af. RIP Brendan Alias Whitney! Who produced A7pha and LEO!
Look, I hate to be that guy to disagree but everyone watching is playing too much on Diz and Avo’s biases. Diz can’t stand Charon and has been mad jealous of his success as a battler for years, never gives him props and been ducking forever. At the time of the venue it was pretty close, and they don’t even bring up a HUGE issue... Charron was told to change his 3rd round right b4 battle so the last round he talked about was just stitched together shit he NEVER INTENDED to rap about, he discussed the drama in length in an interview after battle. That said, if you remove the obvious bias I disagree I had the first 2 rounds debatable with pat taking 3rd.
Diz is just discounting everything Charron says or does, but no real critique of Pat; and at the same time not giving much respect to Charron’s good stuff.

Diz watches are up there in the rankings IMO. Seems like he breaks down bars and schemes as well as anybody. Doesn't play the fence. Gives you a concrete solid take. Geechi, Hollow, BDot, Day all great too
Yo Diz, Charron is a dope MC, he should get a battle with you without having to beg
Charone is embarrassing to watch. I misspelled it on purpose
Lmao how cute
If Diz only knew he was smokin them blunts watching and listening to one of the most amazing battle rappers that lived before he got took too soon! RIP Pat Stay!! When he battles Pat you could see the love in both their eyes they even shared jokes at each other man!! DIZ you the best My G
man forgot how amazing orchestrated pats rounds were in there. remember the ppv being so fire
Blackout 5 was one of my favorite cards EVER !
1:25 the way he spins the wheel on time with the music and your reaction to it haha always come back for that part
And yeah, for Diz, it's not a wierd ending in the second. He, like you said in Verb battle, here comes back to boxers (refering to both, boxing shorts and his dirty boxers). It's a great ending ma dude
Have you guys done Pat Stay vs AYEVERB?I wanna see some of his best battles especially after him coming in second for COTY.. I think people will understand the overwhelming support for the work he put in when you guys actually playback his battles. I may have missed it if you have.

50:25 Charron freestyles and flips Pat Stays swega genesis line. Dope AF, and Avo agrees it’s dope.
Diz is just hating, what’s up?
Then does a multi verse (prewritten) rebuttal...and gets an eyeroll from cracksmoke suckerpunch.
100% agree (see my comment)
Yeah it's a banger
I kinda feel diz didn't get it ..must have missed it in battle
@@MichaelCorleoneLFChe was saying both of them saying it was trash😂
So regardless if the rebuttal was good, it’s a rebuttal of trash😂
L & Kira smile down on you Dizaster
DaSeanceDoesStuff facts
Best wheel spin on watch ever
this is, 20 mins in, one of my favorite Watch episodes in recent history, but can we get one with Diz blazed like this plus illmac? For the culture?
Just battle him already diz 😂😂😂🤣😆
You know what rhymes with Dizaster's preferences? I dunno, like faster sentences... But this is actually great to see how Diz's mind works through his own "rules to rapping the best handbook". His standards are borderline obsessive in areas, and incredible all at once. I feel like his eventual spawn will grow up to be an astrophysicist/ successful mainstream rapper, with a noble peace prize and an oscar earned along the way...
James Hubert Faster Sentences? Master penmanship!
Your turn keep this shit going 😂😂
That real wheel spinning music right there lol
Wasn't that Benjamin button/crooked eye/butt into my business scheme just a reference to the crooked I - Joe budden beef?
"watch his jeans, look, his Knee Grows" 😂😂😂😂😂
50:34 Diz is so pissed Avo liked that corny line...look at his face 😂 He was waiting for Avo to react to it lol
im dying bro that's too funny when i clicked 50:34 and saw his face, im in tears
The welcome to my home bar rhymes with " from the concrete I rose" ( which is a Tupac reference) about 6 bars before, which is extremely unorthodox.
This is one of my favourite battles of all time
Diz hates Charron.
SBPS or he loves Pat Stay.
lost a lot of respect for diz because of this
Nah, he has a ton of respect for Charron. He knows he's more than capable of doing better. I mean he bodied DNA on 4 hours notice.
Shit, afaik Charron has only clearly lost freestyling or super short notice to 1 guy.(Saurus like 4 times lol)
The critiques would be way different if they watched one of his smack battles or something more recent.
Diz has excellent commentary and insight
Epitome of Canadian battle rap? What about Bender/Arcane?
Also important to note that Charron threw the first round on purpose. His strategy from the start was to win rounds 2 and 3, and his 3rd round was also a throwaway angle he pulled out because of the Hollohan drama.
Diz's insight is fucking great
Some of the numbers on the wheel have better odds than the others..
😂😂😂 haha the tiny sliver is arcane vs caustic.
54:50 "he's snitching,
HES RATTING"😹
Respect to that anticon hoodie
I gotta be honest I watched alot of these Dizaster is the best guest by far serious n smart with his option great job
i think the knife apple bar is a reference to baby's arm holding a apple, it holds some... relevance
Diz is a masterful genius perfectionist wordsmith.
Diz, stop ducking Charron and battle him already!!
Great video! Love Diz as guest!
That Death Note theme was pure🔥🔥🔥
Mike P is Charron 2.0
Charron's 2nd was actually really dope
Pat said kit himself, he lost the 2nd. I agree with pretty much everyone, Pat 2-1.
Diz commentary is amazing
34:31 “I don’t know what this is” 😂😂
Diz is just discounting everything Charron says or does, but no real critique of Pat; and at the same time not giving much respect to Charron’s good stuff.
Charron was 99% garbage
We need Dizaster, Hollow, and Geechi or Dizaster, B. Dot, and Geechi as a cast lol. I’ve never seen Dizaster outside of his aggressive maniac battle form and he’s hilarious 😄.
LMAO YO DIZ CANNOT STAND CHARRON ESPECIALLY IN THE THIRD ROUND LOOK AT HIS FACE LOLOL
LOL
Pat stay vs Ice got a view from this. Yes he was on a cycle LMAO
Yeah Pat won hands but Diz clearly hating on Charron.
Could y’all do A. Ward vs. Charron?
