Having loved books all my life I ended up with over 4,000 and that's without keeping 95% of the many fiction paperbacks I read. I converted our smallest bedroom into a library but realised I had arrived at a time in my life when I don't have enough years left to be able to read them all again so have been reluctantly downsizing my collection over the last few years. Not been easy but am now down to just 500 so over 87% gone. I collected antique books too the oldest being a beautiful book about butterflies from 1788. Love all your book related posts and the way you talk about them, I love poetry too x
I have a fever and this is just the most soothing thing to experience right now. I love how you organise your shelves by interest/theme, and your reading taste is so interesting!
Mauve I love your vids and your book taste! The idiot + Either or, rebecca, In the dream house, my year of rest and relaxation and literally anything by sally rooney are my faves too!
How perfectly timed, I was just about to compile a reading list for the year :> I keep seeing Rick Rubin on various podcasts, and I’ve been contemplating whether I should check out his book, so the Mauve top shelf seal of approval was exactly the sign I needed ✨
I wish I could say! I heard that rubber plants really don't like change, so I leave it in the same place and water the same amount every week, turning it a little bit each time. It's been in the same room for years now. That's all I've got, I'm sorry 😂😂
I love James Salter. I found A Sport and a Pastime in a charity shop, and then I read everything I could find of his. 'All That Is' is incredible. HIs memoirs 'Burning the Days' is great, too. Sort of on this, all the contemporary and popular writing I've read lately has been by women. I've found some great books and writers who are now staples for me. But I also want to find some new male authors for something a bit different. Any you can recommend? Maybe some of the Argentine or Mexican books you have?

The candle tapping was so lovely! I’d def watch a candle collection video or generally talking about scents while tapping on candles
Ooo candle collection!! I'll have to add that

Thank you! I hope you feel better soon! 🍵🤗
The way I live and breathe for this specific mauve tradition
Just read Drive Your Plow for the first time this month... it's quickly become one of my favorites as well, that ending was a total gut punch!!
I also put my favorite/5 star reads on my top shelf!!! I’ve not seen anyone else also organize their shelf like that but it just feels right to me lol
Right? It's like they deserve it or something 😂
these are one of my favourite videos from you I’ve rewatched your other two bookshelf tours countless times now 🤍
Yaaaaay, it's Mauve Monday! Thank you so much for the calming bookshelf tour ~
Mauve I love your vids and your book taste! The idiot + Either or, rebecca, In the dream house, my year of rest and relaxation and literally anything by sally rooney are my faves too!
All phenomenal books!! We have amazing taste if you ask me 😛
Your colour book flip-through is still one of my all-time favourite ASMR videos.
Thank you! I want to redo it with better audio! It's on my list for 2024
Mariana Enríquez "Things We Lost in the Fire" is amazing, too!
I loveee your book videos! Its so fun to learn about books I’ve never heard of and see books that I’ve read/are on my TBR :) happy new year!
waited all year for this video 🎀
Really beautiful collection. Love your videos Mauve 😊
Thank you 💜😊
Have you ever heard of the book Elena Knows (Elena Sabe)? An Argentine novel that kind of reminds me of Drive your plow over the bones of the dead
I haven't, but you better believe it's getting added to my list!
OH MY GOD!! I HAVE THE EXACT SAME CLARICE LISPECTOR BOOK (but in portuguese!!!!) i didn't know there were english versions!!!! so cool!!!!
How perfectly timed, I was just about to compile a reading list for the year :>

Javier Marias! Also Yuri Herrara
i still remember watching your first bookshelf tour years ago in 2019, sad you removed it from your channel i didn't find it.
I think the one from 2018? It's still on my Patreon! 🤗
I'm not sure of you've answered this before, but do you have a favorite genre of books?
Fiction in general! Probably literary fiction (although who knows if that really counts as a genre) -- so attention to language and character
Who doesn't like an artsy fartsy section! 😄
Great video ❤❤❤
Thank you! So glad you liked it 🤗
Have you read Blindness by José Saramago?
I haven't! Is it worth picking up?
Yes it is
Oh wow, how many languages do you speak?
Can you believe that just yesterday I saved the last bookshelf tour because I was in need of some recs? You read my mind completely
At your service! 💜
