THE DAYS 101 DAY 1412 PART 1 OF 4 SHORT LIVED SERIES THAT AIRED ON ABC STARRED Laura Ramsey, Evan Peters, Zachary Maurer, Marguerite MacIntyre, and David Newsom
Correct 12 years later from your post and 20 years later from the show. I watched all 6 episodes and I was very entertained. A great show that very likely had 3 or 4 years of life. I live outside of Philly so all the more that I was into the show.
Man. This is one of the shows I remember watching when I was 13, thinking it was the greatest ever. I had the biggest crush on Cooper, loved the music, and was obsessed waiting for a new episode every week. Cancelling this show is one of the most ridiculous cancellations ever. It hurt almost as bad as losing Pushing Daisies. It seems like every time something really good premieres that isn't some cop drama, it gets cancelled.
I know you commented 9 years ago but same! I was around the same age when it premiered and I was obsessed with it too. Right on the cusp of the “emo/punk phase.” Seeing Evan Peters every week was overwhelming as a young teen girl... sigh. I was SUPER bummed when it was canceled.
I had forgotten about this series. What disappoints me about this series is that it isn’t on iTunes or any streaming service! Thank you for putting it on here.
This was the greatest thing when I was 14. I idolized Cooper, I wrote because of him and it super bummed me out when the show got cancelled. Thanks so much for putting these up.
"Hands Down" by Dashboard Confessional was in the series premieres of The Days and One Tree Hill. Years later Evan Peters would play a character on One Tree Hill. Mind=blown
OMG! I forgot that Evan Peters is on Phil of the future (tv series) and Sleepover the movie (which Alexa Vega is in that movie) because he look different (probably because of his hair).
HIS TATE RING BABSHDB BUT SERIOUSLY HE IS A BABE AND EVEN THOUGH HE IS LIKE TWICE MY AGE, HE IS AMAZING AND MY TOTAL IDOL. THANKS FOR POSTING THESE HAHA.
For those who like "Behind the Scenes" trivia: This was a great show dealt a bad card all around. The series was actually passed over completely during the 2002-2003 pilot season although John Scott Shepherd pitched it to all the major networks, including The WB which at that time was known for series along this genre, and aired two other well known and successful shows in the Tollin/Robbins Productions library--"Smallville" and "One Tree Hill". The production company believed in the show enough that it struck a deal with Unilever, which at that time owned Sears as well as dozens of other brands including Lipton Tea, and Dove soap, and through Unilever's production arm, MindShare, struck a deal with ABC to air the show for a low license fee in exchange for a guarantee that the entire series would air over six consecutive weeks with no interruption regardless of ratings, product placement on the show (the entire house was furnished with Kenmore appliances and occasionally you'll see a box of Lipton Tea or Dove in the background) and a set amount of free advertising time during the hour the show was broadcast. The show was then ordered straight to series with no pilot produced, and shot in Calgary, which at that time was still only the home of a handful of major productions (including the aforementioned "Smallville"; today, Calgary rivals Hollywood in terms of the number of shows produced there). To ABC's surprise, the show was actually a qualifying hit, especially during its summer "off season" when, in those days, the networks aired virtually no new programming. At the conclusion of the season, the network considered renewing the show for another summer season, but stopped short when the network's ship came in that season with major hits in "Lost", "Desperate Housewives", and "Grey's Anatomy" (previous to that ABC was struggling as the "#4 Network", which it is again presently). Although "The Days" did not continue after its 6 episode season, the network did work with Unilever/Mindshare again two seasons later and picked up "October Road", another show that was skipped over during the previous pilot season. That show did find slightly better success, and survived to see 19 episodes over two seasons. Back to "The Days": when the show's sets were being struck after its cancellation, an employee of the show auctioned off some of the props, and yours truly got Jack Day's Law Degree from Villanova, as week as Dr. Sharma's psychology degree (Nathan's doctor on the show) for $25. I also received an exclusive behind the scenes DVD featuring footage of the cast and crew while filming the series finale. All excellent keepsakes from an amazing show!
@@jeffmartin3758 I LOVED the original score music! At some point you had a website that featured clips, and I downloaded some of them and put them on a CD (sorry, I know you didn't get paid for that, but still glad to have! I never sold any bootleg copies so no one else has it unless they got it same way from your site...promise! :P ). I have a lot of that stuff in storage right now, when I find the DVD I'd be glad to make a copy to share with you. If you'd like to send me your mailing address, you can email me at thewvnetwork@live.com. It will be my pleasure to copy and mail for free. Do you have good copies of the episodes at least?! BTW, the DVD itself is all mostly candid, the information I wrote in my previous post I got from reading a variety of different articles (some actually from "Variety" lol) over the years. I enjoy learning about production schemes, especially "special arrangements" such as was made for this series.
@@jeffmartin3758 Another question for you: This version of the episodes--recorded in HD at a time when I still only had standard def at home--was missing 5-10 seconds of Evan Peter's narrative at the beginning of every single episode, but yet your musical score is still heard. My standard def copies have Evan's narration completely intact. As an example, this clip started with the words "The address of my prison is 821 West Olive Street", but this copy of the episode is missing "The address of my prison is" and then it jumps back in with the house number. I would have completely understood if the music was missing too and it was mute, but I am mystified how the music plays but the narration doesn't! Do you have any idea how this malfunction could have occurred?
@@mattw7276 Matt!! I'm not sure what the issue is with this TH-cam upload of the Days?? Strange....I just ripped my Days dvd's which the network provided me. I would love to see the BTS Days dvd thanks so much!! I will email you with my address. I'm completely fine with you having my cues. I can send you the whole lot of them if you'd like:) Talk soon!!
It's very subtle, and a little difficult to hear, but can anyone decipher the song between 3:27 and 3:43 (right before Hands Down)? I've been trying to figure it out for 7 years with no luck whatsoever! And thank you for uploading! You're fabulous!
@@jeffmartin3758 hey!! I rewatched this scene just the other day to listen to the music. Would you ever consider making it available? I'd love to listen on loop. Thank you for replying, even 8 years later!!

The writing is amazing. How was this show canceled? Totally underrated. Evan Peters had the best lines and his delivery was spot on. Awesome show.

One of my favorite series of all time, I can't understand why they did not do another season...
brunopierre12345 I am totally agree with you. I wonder why this show got cancelled.
I used to watch this show when I was 14 years old. It is too bad that the show got cancelled. It is in 2004. Also, I like the narrator on this show.
I have honestly been looking for anything "the days" related espically episodes since well 2004 lmao thank you soooooooooooo much!
