Luke 13:22-30 To be "saved" from what and from where? "Saved" from God's wrath and from hell. The guy who asked Jesus in this Gospel seems to realized that it was very hard to follow the 10 Commandments and the other Jewish Laws. At first there were just 10 God's laws for the Jewish to abide but then after years and thousands of years gone through then the laws keep added up until hundreds of laws to be abide. Imagine about a Jewish guy does achieved 1 of the 10 Commandments and he is unworthy in front of God and then think also another Jewish guy who hardly achieved 9 of the 10 Commandments but still he is also imperfect and unworthy in front of God. At Jesus’ very moment the 10 Commandments had been added with another few hundred of Laws by the Jewish people. It makes the burden more heavier until no one can get through the “narrow door”. Which is impossible for human. Jesus just wanted to highlight to that guy that striving at the narrow door is really useless. No one can satisfy God from all humanly doing. Jesus wanted the guy realized that all kind of strives are nothing in front of God. God had sent His only begotten Son to them but then they neglected Him. Jesus is the only way to get into the God’s Kingdom. Jesus is the Grace from God so that all people can get through the narrow door. After they being arrogant and keep neglecting Jesus, the other races from all around the world can now received God's Grace through Jesus and lived eternally with Israelite’s God in His Kingdom. This is how I look at this passage. I am very sorry for my English is not good. God bless you all.
