Same here. I downloaded a "best of melodic death metal" compliation torrent and it had at least one song from each of those albums. I was hooked ever since.
@@VulgrimOfficial ive heard of in flames before that album, but i was into nu metal at the time so in flames wasnt on the radar…killswitch engages alive or just breathing came out and changed my music taste and somehow that branched out to in flames, soilwork , dark tranquillity and all that Gothenburg sound
I remembering burning this cd from kazaa over my christmas break in highschool and using it as a soundtrack for when i played dead to rights on gamecube....thats my youth in a nutshell
I heard this song for the first time in a small venue with about 500 people in november of 2002. The place was packed to capacity and these guys were warming up before the headliner In Flames. I was mainly there for In Flames, but these guys blew my mind. I'd never seen a frontman with a charisma quite like this. I still remember it as if it was yesterday. Man, what a great show.
Can we just agree that this song is amazing?! Incredible vocals... both cleans and screams, heavy but also super melodic guitar, solid drums, great fills, a shredding guitar solo, matched with a melodic guitar solo, climactic bridge section, perfect placement of the keys throughout the entirety of the song, and then finish it off with that powerful chorus!!! The early 2000's Swedish Metal scene is, by far, my favorite to date!!! Take me back.
One of the best metal albums to come out...every song on this is a hit...when I was 20, this came out...cant believe how long this has been out. Hasnt aged at all.
Natural Born Chaos is Soilwork's masterpiece and a classic of melodic death metal. It was Soilwork embracing a venture into hooky choruses and melodic leads without compromising their integrity. And of course aided by Devin's production.
+MikeVonDoom - I had a guy audition for vocals for a project I had going on right after this came out and he showed it to me and I was blown away. I was listening to Iced Earth, Nevermore, Stratovarius and HammerFall at the time and this CD singlehandedly changed my life as well. To this day, I wear a Soilwork hat and try to spread the good word about Swedish heavy metal. People need to know about it.
+MikeVonDoom I know what you mean, that part is pure bliss wish it was a little longer and would progress into different chords, even though it's kinda perfect the way it is :)
This song was what introduced me to this amazing band, been a fan ever since. I dare say they still do well even now, they've experimented with some albums while never going too far into one direction. Yes albums like Sworn to a great divide had a very different sound to it and I'm mixed about that album, but it never felt like Soilwork went out of their way in changing their ''identity'' just to get more mainstream fans into it. I've heard many metal bands convert into something that don't sound anywhere close to where they started , and I'm thankful that Soilwork stayed ''loyal''. I prefer the 2002 - 2005 era as well as their 2010 album, but they still deliver some good tracks that i enjoy.
What An Album !! Thanks Devin For Being Part Of It.... 2002 was a year dream In Costa Rica, Discover That Band...I Was In The SYL Wave !! Really Love The Band, Saw Them Live And It Really Wasn't So Good... Threat Signal Had Stole The Night !!
i remember clearly that when i went to see soilwork at ozzfest, they opened their set with "stabbing the drama" and ended with "as we speak." regardless of what they played in between (which was, i believe, "light the torch," "nerve" and "blind eye halo"), those are some solid bookends.
Dude was only 23 when he recorded this album. I'm 26 and can't come close to reaching his level of mastery. Voice still cracks like I'm some high school kid when I try to do vocals like his 😒
Lyrics: As we speak the stable table turns As we speak I should have known we're burned And I guess I'll never never learn Which of those faces Who makes it all turn As we speak I'm going deeper down As we speak with a terrible sound A feeble holy bastard son Has it only just begun? (I turn away) Fading out alone Was a lifetime worth it all? (Fading out) Fading out alone As we speak we turn to stone As we speak we turn to stone As we speak a young man looses his mind As we speak he kills what's next in line A broken down mother asks herself why Is this the end of her precious time? As we speak... a conscience leaves without a trace A silent departure to a silent place What do we know About the anger? That starts to grow Don't despair Time will heal your torment Don't you dare? Spend your days in hell So beware Faith will bring you treason While you stare... (I turn away, turn away) Was a life time worth it all? (Fading out) Fading out alone As we speak we turn to stone (Turn away) Fading out alone Was a life time worth it all? (Fading out) Fading out alone As we speak we turn to stone (Turn away) Fading out alone As a lifetime turns to stone!
If you remember "extreme rock" came on at 1-2pm, sometimes till 3pm, on MTV Saturday nights!? then you remember seeing this video. Heard it once, got hooked immediately. Took forever to find there CD's at the time but we'll worth the backlog.
+Jeremiah Sanchez I totally remember. It was before Headbanger's Ball was reinstated in 2005. I remember it coming on about 11:30 pm to midnight on MTV2 back in 02-03. It was how I discovered these guys, as well as In Flames, Shadows Fall, Killswitch Engage, and Lamb of God. If I remember, they even played the Lamb of God video, "Black Label" occasionally! Of course, they also played Staind, Godsmack, and other random Nu Metal alongside it, as well.
+Steven Manning You mean when Jasta from Hatebreed was hosting. Yeah that's when I thought Metal was coming back. Good time for Heavy music. Too bad it didn't grow bigger. Soilwork, Lamb of God, Shadows fall, Unearth. Good shit.
Steven Manning hell yeah man! that was when metal like this was showing more on tv and become less harder to find. I would smoke a bowl then wait for this to come on. When they stopped it, I was pissed but then found there CDs and other bands like them such as in flames and susperia. Good shit though, I thought I was the only one ha ha ha.
Sd Ny na brother it was before headbangers ball came back on MTV. It was the only time metal was played on TV and it was played late or rather, early early Sunday morning (1am-3am my time at the time).
This song is insanely good. I thought of this band. This is the first song that came to mind. And is it a blaster. Holy sh%t yeah. And thats a solo. Still buzzing in 2023!
Beautifully awesome song. LOVE IT. Speed's melodic voice is so AMAZING here. Looks like we're floating to another dimension or something. Can hardly wait to finally be at their show here in BRAZIL, next month!
This is honestly Soilwork's most profound and melodic of their singles. Why does it not have more views? Kind of blows my mind that Exile has more views.
This album, in flames reroute to remain and dark tranquility damage done opened my eyes and ears to a whole new world in 2002
Really, Reroute to Remain opened your eyes. I think this is a very difficult album xD
I thought I was the only one. The “white cover albuns” will always be my favourite ones.
Same here. I downloaded a "best of melodic death metal" compliation torrent and it had at least one song from each of those albums. I was hooked ever since.
Three amazing bands, I actually have the Come Clarity album cover tattooed on my stomach
34 years of age still feeling young with this song pounding my ears!
Same here ! also 34 and i still remember when i was so full of joy when i bought Natural Born Chaos, i was at school of course, really good memories.
Just started listening live album
I remembering burning this cd from kazaa over my christmas break in highschool and using it as a soundtrack for when i played dead to rights on gamecube....thats my youth in a nutshell
35 here and yes too.
I am trying to hold on to 39. Fuck 2020
One of my favorite Soilwork songs. Perfect blend of aggression and melody.
Anyone Still Playing This Masterpiece In 2024?.
here 😁
'türlich
It's in my daily. That's why I'm here. Funny.
EVERYDAY
Alot of memories ❤

"Once A SoilWorker, Always A SoilWorker".
Man I love this band so much I have all of their albums!!! SOILWORK KICKS ASS!
Can we just agree that this song is amazing?! Its been 10 years since this album came out and it still feels like it was yesterday. Good music never gets old.
Album recorded and produced by Devin Townsend... what didi you expect this song to be ? Just great ! Devin rules.
That break after the first verse still makes me wanna tear the world apart.
One of the best metal albums to come out...every song on this is a hit...when I was 20, this came out...cant believe how long this has been out. Hasnt aged at all.
20yrs and 12 albums later they're still kicking ass and taking names!!!! How many other bands can say that?!?!
Tellement bon ce son ça faisait des années que je ne l'avais pas écouté.
Natural Born Chaos is Soilwork's masterpiece and a classic of melodic death metal. It was Soilwork embracing a venture into hooky choruses and melodic leads without compromising their integrity. And of course aided by Devin's production.
I do love FNF and STD I fell in love with those albums years ago but this album gets better and better with each listen i miss this era of Soilwork
This list is all over the place. Most fans either like new stuff or the stuff before 2002. You like it all. A true fan.
An absolute masterpiece. I bow my head to this song.
I bought the album because of the section from 1:14 to 1:33. 2002 was the year of changes for me.
+MikeVonDoom - I had a guy audition for vocals for a project I had going on right after this came out and he showed it to me and I was blown away. ***** personal reasons.
+MikeVonDoom I know what you mean, that part is pure bliss wish it was a little longer and would progress into different chords, even though it's kinda perfect the way it is :)
Thumbs up to canada's owm metal genius for this production on this Album ! DEVIN TOWNSEND !!!
When I'm driving this is a wonderful album to get up n go places with... VROOM VROOM
Bjorn and Howard from Killswitch NEED to do a song together. Their vocals would compliment each others' so well
Bjorn sounds more like Ryan from DH than he does Howard. The comparison is fair though!
I’d would love to see a collaboration between the two.
Con SOILWORK!!....23 años rockeando🤘🤘🤘😎
SOILWORK RULEZ.....been listening 2 this band since i was 15....24 now and they NEVER GET OLD
Exactly. They're THE best band ever in my opinion. No band has ever had such a great impact on me. Every song just tells how awesome they are.
Heard this song when i was 20. Now, at 40, this song holds something dear to me cheers to soilwork

One if the greatest bridges EVER
This song is extremely amazing. NEEDS MORE PLAYS! This song alone was a major influence on my musical life. Hat goes off.
Great Song

Such a great álbum from a awesome band
Bjorns vocals are top notch 🔥 🤘🏻🤘🏻

As we speak the stable table turns
As we speak I should have known we're burned
And I guess I'll never never learn
Which of those faces
Who makes it all turn
As we speak I'm going deeper down
As we speak with a terrible sound
A feeble holy bastard son
Has it only just begun?

Don't despair
Time will heal your torment
Don't you dare?
Spend your days in hell
So beware
Faith will bring you treason
While you stare...

(Turn away) Fading out alone
Was a life time worth it all?
(Fading out) Fading out alone
As we speak we turn to stone
(Turn away) Fading out alone
As a lifetime turns to stone!
Love this! Peter with hair, Ola without a beard and Frenning doing a great solo!
Can't wait 4 the new album
This is not only one of my favorite Soilwork songs but fav Metal songs. The breakdown after the chorus gets my blood pumping.
I found this album when I deployed to Iraq in 2008. I’ve always loved it since. Good band
It's not just 240p, it's OFFICIAL 240p! ; )

As we speak we turn to stone!
I know these guys know their legends god bless
I think natural born chaos is a masterpiece of modern metal. One of my favourite albums of alltime for sure.
Probably some of the most melodic metal drumming imaginable.
Indeed one of their best songs. One of my favorites for sure. That whole album is great.
Legendary Song!
College days! a lot of nice memories with this awesome and band!
2020, 38 yo, and that remembers me when I first listened to Soilwork. 🖤
This song is insanely good. I thought of this band. This is the first song that came to mind. And is it a blaster. Holy sh%t yeah. And thats a solo. Still buzzing in 2023!
this song just put me in a time machine and took me back about 4 years.
**reminisces on good old days** 5 Stars

One of the best songs all time
This song has the perfect elements put together. Love it.

Great song, pretty sweet video. "As we speak, we turn to stone"
this is the kind of magic that happens when you combine talent with the producing talents of devin townshend
Their best song for ever
Loved Natural Born Chaos!

Wow this is the 1st time i have seen this Band or song and i already like it..
BEST lp of soilwork
These chorus vocal harmonies are insane
listening to soilwork since a long time now, remembering me to so many things .................... =)
I love this song, and not because it's my favorite by Soilwork. It's because this song made me want to hear more of my now favorite group.
Best music in the world. Best band. One of their best songs. Swedish metal ftw.
Top 10 songs of all time.
Awesome mix of growl and melodic parts....Rock on SW.
The best Soilwork song.
My favorite album of all time...ever. hopefully their next album won't suck like "Sworn to a great divide"
SAUDADES ADOLESCÊNCIA
This is honestly Soilwork's most profound and melodic of their singles. Why does it not have more views? Kind of blows my mind that Exile has more views.
I remember when I first brought that up to them! We had a good laugh for sure.
awsome music love it
This song is wicked!!
best Soilwork song in my opinion
Best Soilwork song.
Gotta say, i do agree with you guys. It reminds me of bad times, but at the same time, it cheers me up. Strange indeed
My favourite by them...
the best band in melodic metal history. (not just melodic death metal --- melodic metal)
Love that "O" face at 2:47
I love these old school musicvideo style :] And I love the song as well!! :D
Greatest song of Soilwork
Soilwork RULES!!
Natural Born Chaos is such a damn good album.
I've always wondered what the sound effect is at approx 1:48. It sounds like the old msn messenger tone.
god damn this is the best example of melodic metal ever.
Maybe not the best Soilwork song, but FOR SURE the song with the best chorus O__O HOLY SHIT that was AMAZING
best soilwork song SERIOUSLY !
