    People including tourists watching Jessica's hair like " is it a celebrity ? " knowing Marrakech is a famous celebs meeting point. As for what you can do : little trekk in the Ourika Valley , Balloon ride with Ciel d'Afrique , waterskiing or wakeboarding at Waky Marrakech, Quad or buggy , and of course camel riding. You could visit the Ouzoud waterfalls a bit kms

    • @jsueiro1
      @jsueiro1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ha! Yes, I get asked for autographs all the time. Just kidding, but people do ask me how I do my hair a lot. So much that there will be a vlog about it at some point. Ha. All of your suggestions are on our list. I hope we can make them all happen. Which one is your favorite? Does riding the camels hurt them?

    There are many charming cities. You can visit Chefchaouen, Tetouan, Tangier, Vandiq and Martel in the north, charming cities.
    You can visit Rabat, the capital of Kaza Blanca. You can visit Afran, Azro and Fez. You can also visit Tiznet and Warzazat. Don't miss the chance to hug the sand, desert and camel rides in Marzuka. All these cities, the places I've told you about, and more, are really great and charming.

    LOVE THEM!!! I was afraid you would miss the snake charmers! 🐍. Heres the rule about negotiating..he starts at 100%, you offer 50% of that. Always smile and be polite...then start walking away... he will come after you or send a child to fetch you. If you like him and the way he treats you pay 60% to show good faith and respect. Jessica I bought a pouf and a hmmmm...the long cover ups they wear..dont remember the name...and shipped back to Canada. Wasnt expensive...by ship not air. The shoes unfortunately wont last long bc of the way they produce them but enjoy them while they last. Morocco may have to go back on the bucket list! Thanks so much.

      We are usually pretty good at negotiating, but the wow factor got us at first. Luckily we came to our senses real fast. Ha. Yeah, that is what I thought about the shoes, but my plan is to only wear them in the house. I bought two just in case (wink). Yes, come back to Morocco. It really is magical.

      It's because of people like you they are hungry for money and are trying to con everyone. I'm pretty you have overpaid for everything and you bought in Marrakech. Their first asking price is actually about 300% more than actual selling price. This applies to taxis.

    Hi Guys. Awesome video!
    I love that you guys take the time to show the food and talk to the locals. Keep up the great work!
    There is another youtube family in Morocco right now. Their channel is Knorpp and South. They travel with their NINE kids.
    They just did a video of them in the Sahara desert riding camels. :)

    • @WorldTowning
      @WorldTowning  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi River. Showing food is something that we have always shot, but we never showed because we thought that that actual adventures were more interesting. And for the most part in Europe, that was true, but here in Morocco, the food is a character in the story of this adventure just as much as the location or what we are seeing and doing. Having shown it a couple of times now, I am totally getting into talking about the food. Like anything else, we will get better at it with practice. We love showing the experiences. As far as the people, this is something that we always wanted to do, but being in France and mostly non-English speaking places, it's hard to get interactions without an interpreter. Anyway, we will continue to show the prople as much as possible as interacting with locals is at the heart of this WorldTowning journey of ours. I know that this is long and drawn out response, but it is a great comment. As far as Knopp and South, we would love to meet up with them if the opportunity arises, but I fear that they are way too far ahead of us at this point. It would have been epic.

      Fez and Chefchaouen City will be towards the end of our experience. In about a month. Can't wait. We can see the Atlas mountain and the snow peaks from our campsite in Marrakech. It is stunning. We will cross them to get to the other side. Not sure where we are going on the other side, but we will be there as well.

    There is a company called 4x4 Camel, owner is called Adil. He will take you from Marrakech up into the Atlas mountains in his 4x4, take you to a market where the locals shop, an argan oil co-operative, Moroccan tea on a river bed and the BEST part , lunch with a Berber family on their roof, looking at the snow capped Atlas Mountains whilst eating the most incredibly soups, vegetables, tagines and couscous that they have made for you. One of my all time life experiences. If its in the budget I would highly recommend. Jessica def get a Hamman! A traditional bath at a spa. For not very much money you get a full scrub with black soap they wash you like a queen, wash your hair, rinse it with silver bowls and then you get an Argan oil massage after. UNREAL! Enjoy guys. Morocco is Magical!

    • @jsueiro1
      @jsueiro1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for the recommendations. We are spending the weekend with a Berber family and doing almost everything you mentioned for a very fair price. Can't wait. What is the best city to do the Hamman in? Fez, Marrakech, Chef? I don't want to miss this. Living in an RV for 8 months, I think it is time for some pampering for all of us. Thanks again.

    • @RS-uc2tc
      @RS-uc2tc 6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Amazing! SO glad you guys are getting to do that! What an wonderful experience. Just be sure to cover up including shoulders legs and ankles if possible, this will make the family feel more comfortable. There are some very famous traditional baths in Marrakech, you may feel more comfortable as Westerners in the modern Spa's or Hotel Spa's as they cater to the more modest inclinations for us! For example the traditional hammams people are separated by sex and are completely nude. The more modern spa's are used to people wearing bikini bottoms, choice is yours either way! I will warn you.. in their culture breasts are just another appendage like an arm, so you get a really good wash and massage on them too! Fantastic for your muscles and glands but something very foreign to me when having a massage so I did have to stifle a few giggles! Perhaps a time for just you to indulge! I felt like an absolute QUEEN during.. they wash your hair for you and rinse it by filling up little silver bowls with water from their hot running basins... I just sat there there whole time thinking this must have been the life! Def get an experience with a massage after too if you can, it follows the bathing perfectly! I can personally recommend the spa at Rhiad Kheirredine www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-g293734-d1873436-Reviews-Riad_Kheirredine-Marrakech_Marrakech_Tensift_El_Haouz_Region.html as I stayed there. I can also recommend Les Baines de Orient www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Attraction_Review-g293734-d8647023-Reviews-Les_Bains_d_Orient-Marrakech_Marrakech_Tensift_El_Haouz_Region.html both were incredible experiences. I am sure there are marvellous ones all over though! I guess Trip advisor if you would like to do one in another city other than Marrakech. The Baths are all over as people didn't used to have any plumbing in their homes and washing every day is obviously a very important part of islamic culture. Your Berber house will probably have a cute little steam room they will show you were the girls wash themselves as well. I can't wait to go back.. I will live vicariously through your videos until then! :)

      @jsueiro1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh my gosh, THANK YOU!!!!! We only have a couple more days in Marrakesh, but I am making this a priority. Ha, funny. Well, I am used to this as I have had massages and scrubs in many different parts to of the world, however I will still probably giggle. Gets me every time. I am looking into reservations now.

    • @WorldTowning
      @WorldTowning  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      As far as languages, the Moroccans speak mostly Moroccan Arabic (Darija), Amazigh (Berber) and French. What we are finding is that there is a growing number of the population who speak enough English for Jessica and I to get by. But we do have our secret weapon, the kids. The kids are fluent in French and pitch in when we can not find an english speaker. We are finding that those who speak English welcome the opportunity to practice the language and for those who don't, they totally appreciate the fact that the kids can communicate in French. We have yet to have the need to break out the google translate app to get by. Languages are such a great asset to have in this travel life.
