    The sticker on the lid/box is backwards so when you open the lid it's right way up for anyone looking. Static tops of boxes have the sticker facing the front

    Chiropractors and back surgeons love those heavy tool boxes. Can’t imagine working residential and moving these around the hallway and staircases. The bigger and stronger the box, the heavier it gets. I’m switching to tstack, VersaStack and festool tool storage.
    These heavy boxes are perfect for exterior projects except the part when you need to get them in the truck.

    4:00 the reason it's like that is so when you open up the box the logo isn't upside down. My RIDGID pro organizer 22-Inch modular tool box has the same thing the logo faces that way too but when opened it right side up. They don't want some one to see an upside-down logo

    Your tools are gorgeous!
    I try to keep my tools clean and I get hassled by co-workers, but I agree with you that it shows well to the client that you care enough to take care of your tools, you’ll likely also care enough to do good work and be respectful of their space as well.
    Yes, the guy with the filthy bag of dirty tools may do great work and clean up after himself at the end, but along the line, what does it look like 1/2 way through?
    To me, whether it’s someone’s home, their office, or their multi-million dollar construction project, it doesn’t just matter what you do, but also how you do it.
    16:05: Regarding the collet issue on the Gen 3 impact, I can report that at least in my case, I needed to purchase a replacement set of my Gen 3 Combo Kit around Black Friday (M18 Gen 3 Fuel Hammer Drill, Impact Driver w/ 2 5ah batteries # 2997-22) and it indeed included an impact with the upgraded collet, which contains two ball-bearings for bit retention, rather than just the one that they have contained up to now. I’m not certain how widespread their distribution is yet, and whether the bare tools and or various combo kits already contain this upgrade, but for me, if they included one in this particular kit, which seems to be their flagship combo kit, especially for big promo’s like Black Friday, then it means that they are starting to make it out there into the world, which is a great thing. As for the bit retention issue itself, watch testing at VCG and a handful of other tool channels, like you have described it your limited run ins with it, it seems to largely happen when pulling the tool out after an operation like boring a hole. It seems to be happening most often to people with self feeding spade bits (especially the larger diameter ones) when they are being pulled back out of the hole. In watching much of this testing, though, I never quite get a good picture as to whether they are pulling the tool out while still in forward mode, or if they putting the tool in reverse before pulling it out. Since I don’t have occasion to use the self feeding bits all that often, I’m not 100% certain whether it would even make a difference one way or the other. However, I feel as if it would be pertinent to know, and could potentially be at least a contributing factor to the issue. I think I was told years ago that when drilling a smaller hole, it’s better to continue running the drill in forward rotation as you are removing the tool from the work piece, because it will leave a cleaner hole. But by their design, a paddle bit (or spaddle bit) is never going to be easy to remove from the hole. They are essentially flat objects spinning in a round hole. But in these time test videos, or head to head tool tests, they are trying to drill multiple holes all at once as fast as they can. Needless to say, when this spinning flat bit binds up in the hole, most often on the way out, something’s bound to give. Maybe better the collet than your wrist, but, perhaps it’s not just an either or choice. As Vince and others have pointed out, losing the bit from the driver mid task, is a recipe for disaster, especially when working overhead or at height.
    Thanks for another great video.
    Sorry for the lengthy comment; Ramble recognize Ramble, I guess.

    Classic question for you. M12 vs M18? I work in a machine shop, not doing production so I dont think battery life would be a biggie for me. Just sick of shared shop tools and finding them when I need them more than anything. Curious to how you think the m12 impact and drill compare to the bigger. I like the space saving on them but if power is a big sacrifice might not be worth it.

    • @KompleteTechCrew
      @KompleteTechCrew  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve Over Utilized The M12 Impact Driver And Hammer/Drill Driver For Quite Some Time. I Stand Behind The M12 FUEL Line Completely. If You’re Not Doing Anything Heavy Duty, I Would Recommend The M12 FUEL Line. M18 Is Slightly Larger And Much More Powerful.

    • @MrEdfinn
      @MrEdfinn 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@KompleteTechCrew Yep not very heavy duty at all just some assembly here and there deburring holes yadda yadda. Loved the idea of the smaller footprint of the tools and batteries. Some of the more mechanic type tools they seem to have m12 (die grinders, rotary tool) would probably fit right in at a machine shop.
