Ooo, Winsor and Newtons! I have a 12 pan set. I'm personally not good enough at watercolor to judge their quality, but watercolors are cool. Glad you're trying this! Though I may not be good, I've still got some tips. Firstly, the ring at the back is to stick your finger through to more conveniently hold the case like a palette. Secondly, please use watercolor paper!!! Notice how the paper is buckling and curling, and how you're fiddling with the paint trying to get a flat wash, which wasn't achieved. They can be solved with one easy step: watercolor paper! They're thicker and hold the paint much better. Bonus tip: you should swatch on white paper to get a better idea of the colors. Enjoy!

I don't have much experience with watercolors either, but switching from my old shabby powder-like Ikea watercolors to the Cotman watercolors really contrasted the quality between the two. I actually do have watercolor paper, but I found it AFTER I recorded this video since I bought it a while back hahaha
The little ring on the bottom is to keep it from falling when you outdoors you put you thumb through it and it stays there without falling! Great vid btw!
There set here is extremely expensive so i decided to buy individual ones one by one, when my old cheap ones would finish. I received them today and boy they were just extremely wayyyy smaller then this. And the paint wasnt as hard as pan paint should be. They were like thick and sticky like tube. They were like powdery cheap bad. I came here to see if i really got scammed. I did :((( i hope they take it back

Kiran Citra I mean I understand that but isn’t the purpose of water color paint or any paint to be able to mix Any shade of a color you want
DragonballArtz i find that purple is one of the hardest colours to mix as they become very muddy and dark
You can always mix the different reds and blues to find a shade of purple you like! Mess around and have fun with it
