Your presentation skills - impressive! Kept me engaged with the various topics! I look forward to finding more of your videos! I have also subscribed so I won’t miss out! Thank you for sharing your knowledge and talents. 😊
Thanks for showing the Sizzix stencil and stamp tool with the hinge adapter! I love buying plain journals and stamping on them for gifts. It's just what I needed!!😍
First time I’ve watched any of your videos. I like your presentation style. Very easy to understand you show closeups, etc. This video has great content ….now I want all of these! Thanks for sharing. I’ve also subscribed!
saving up for the sizzix stamp platform. Will give my Misty to my grand daughter. How about a thin silicone mat for the inside? They clean off from EVERYTHING! Have a big one in the card room & the art studio (actually have 3 in the studio :)) Just a thought.
Thank you Erin! I love your tools list and darn it, now I need that Sizzix platform. Yes, so much yes. Die Hard is absolutely a Christmas movie. I loved the Famous People coloring book and bought that for my 5th grade class. My favorite tools for the year.... not sure any of them are new, but they are ones I use over and over. Linkable alphabet set, quilting clips (with the grippy points sanded down), my Glassboard Studio magnetic work surface mat, the Ott light desk lamps with cordless recharger and my repurposed antique brick mold into a tool stand. Happy New Year and happy creating!
That coloring book is great, such a fun way to introduce so many inspirational people!! I have a glassboard mat too, i ti wonderful, i did not use it as much this year, but it is a wonderful tool!! Love that you love Die Hard!!!
@ also on Team Fallen ((Olympus Has Fallen, London Has Fallen, Angel Has Fallen) and there is a new one out early next year. Gotta love some fake shoot-‘em-up for the holidays 😊
Hi Erin...I always enjoy watching your vids. The Sizzix Stamp & Stencil Platform is on my wish list. But first, I'm working on destashing (donating some, selling some) crafting tools & supplies that I really don't use anymore. I think with time, our needs may change and what we thought was so great just isn't serving us anymore. Brand name used tools in good working condition (die cutting machines, dies, stamping tools, are fortunately very easy to resell. Happy Holidays Merry Christmas! 🎄
I have the Tim Holtz platform that originally had that style hinge..then stamping up developed a similar one with 2hinged plates...both were pulled off the market because the Misti brand sued....I realize this one has a second hinged plate with a rotation plate..but I'm surprised that Misti hasn't already sued them! I love my Tim Holtz positioner better than the Misti...it has the same main plate as this one..with one side has the prefect height for red rubber cling stamps and the other side for clear stamps... Good luck to the company that developed this! I would love to use that rotation plate!
I also love my Tim Holtz platform waaay better than the Mistis I have tried. I also now have a spring loaded platform that works great. The lack of sides makes it so much easier to do batches of sentiments, overlay large stamps, stamp on envelope flaps etc….! Misti’s owners are selfish and over reaching imho r/t how they have sued others for similar items to theirs….NOT copies. I refuse to buy anything associated with that company ….
Neat reviews, Erin! Btw, Catherine Pooler stamps are photopolymer rather than acrylic. Acrylic stamps are cheaper, not as high quality as photo polymer, and sometimes don’t stamp well.
You are completely right, i even know the company she uses, and they are wonderful. I have a bad habit of saying acrylic when in fact i should be saying photopolymer, but that is a mouthful, lol
Great info!! I enjoyed your video very much! My Favorite 2024 tool is a hair tool. Curls and blows heated air. I take off the hair attachment and blow around my alcohol inks. 😃
I watched you for the first time yesterday and really enjoyed your work I even liked and subscribed! Looking forward to working through your back catalogue ❤
Wow! Love all your favorites: Do either of the sharpie pen / markers work in the cricket marker / silhouette machines fantastic video filled with such detailed information! Merry Christmas! Blessed New Year…
I have not tried to put them in a machine, but the bullet bin barrel is defiantly too big, but the brush tip might fit, but again not sure how well a brush tip would work in a cricut or silhouette.
PS My favorite new tool is the Tonic Studios - Tim Holtz Rotary trimmer. I"ve had it about a year now. It cuts like butter and, as a card maker, I always need to cut a layer just the tiniest bit smaller and it does that perfectly.
I am sure Misti will be coming after Sizzix too in due course as it is just another version. I have the Tim Holtz version which I love but I bought it in Italy and found another at a swap table, yeah!
Yes...I figured Sizzix made sure there would be no problems with any infringements with Misti or any other stamping platforms. For one, it's very different. And it's not just all about "the hinge." 🙂
Someone probably already suggested this, but since you have two sets, you can use the one set to color the opposite end of the marker on the other set so you can see what the color is.
The stamp and spin might be great, but glad I checked out availability of extra grid sheets - hard to find with high shipping cost or minimum order for free shipping. If they become hard to find, you will have large doorstop.
Thank you so much I really really enjoyed watching you tell us all, about the top 5-things you think are the best 5-things that you think are best for 2024. I don’t think Rocky Two is a Christmas movie at all.
it all depends on what type of coloring you want to do, so this is a hard question to answer not knowing your budget, preferences, or type of marker you are looking for (water based, pencil, alcohol based, paint based, etc)
@@andyplans_843 if you have never used alcohol-based inks, I always suggest get a cheap set from amazon, they are not refillable, but they get the job done and lets you know what colors you like best, you can get 120 colors for around $40 Then start to add a couple at a time the higher-end ones, they all work well together, so then it does feel like you are breaking the bank. Stampin Up had to quit selling their positioner because of a lawsuit by the makers of the Misty. This base sure reminds me of Stampin’ Up’s positioner. I don’t get it.
The tool is siliar to the Tim Holtz tool and others, but you also have the option of using it with stencils, that you don’t have with any of those other tools.
There are a few bundles you can get for the Sizzix stamping platform. When it first came out it had the platform and then also the stencil attachment (the non-Sizzix stencils adapters were not included). When the stamp and spin came out, you could by the bundle with the stamp platform, stencil, and stamp and spin as a combo. The journal hinge adapter is extra, there is no bundle that includes this at this moment. I hope this helps. I linked all the options in the info section fo the video :)

Way too big stamping tool- even if my desk is totally clean (which it never will during card making process) I won‘t have enough space to place it. Also, I need something flexible underneath to get best results with photopolymer stamps. Will keep my Stamparatus forever…

Thanks Erin for sharing these tools. I didn't know that Sizzix plans on making more additions to the one tool; that sounds pretty neat rather than always having to buy a whole new setup each time there's a new release/addition.

What's the tool you're using to rub the top of the positioner tool over the stamp?
I am wondering the same thing 🙂
It's a stamping pressure tool. I like the one from We r makers best because it has corners
Just use a white board large eraser. It's works great. I use a magnetic one. It sticks to my craft cart so that I don't lose it.
it is my chuckie, i also tend to use any other flat tool like a glue bottle or even my hand to make the stamping easier :)
Is the Sizzix platform magnetic?
no, it is a sticky mat, so no need for magnets
I'm curious... do the new platform additions work on the old Tim Holtz platform?
I am not sure, I do not have the time holt platform, so I am not sure

How come you don’t store your ink pads upside down?
I have not thought to do so, do you store them upside down?
A long long time ago it was done before quality improved. No need now - none of the pros that I'm familiar do it. 😊
