It's easy to be an investor during the good times. It's hard to be an investor during the hard times. If you want to be a successful investor, YOU MUST be able to master your emotions and continue to invest in both types of markets. Especially when assets are on sale.

The stock market behaves the way it does, because there will always be people who: - sell at highs bringing it down - panic sell due to it dropping, bringing it lower - buy at the lows, bringing it back up - buy back in while it's rising

@@oneiljerry9460 Investing with a professional is a great way to build a well-structured investment portfolio. That's why I've been working with "Eileen Ruth Sparks" on my transactions. Since most traders tend to go into the market and get out at a quick 10% to 20% profit, I've learned to be patient with the market. However, because it trades at a P/E ratio of 40-50, they miss out on the enormous returns.

Be honest. Everyone's portfolio no matter what it was in from a 5 year perspective still looks awesome. We have had it easy. The baby gloves were on. No one could lose. Even the speculators won.
Now we have 8% inflation which has to get stopped before it turns into hyperinflation. The solution is simple. Bring interest rates back to what they were 10 or 20 + years ago. Yeah it will crash the stock market if the FED rapid fire unloaded 10 years worth of assets.

Hi Jeremy. There might be another risk factor coming up that no one is talking about right now. Omicron ba5 and new variants of the virus. Right now Portugal is going through a wave of the infection with ba5, and here in Denmark the health authorities are talking about giving out vaccines for the most vulnerable parts of the population . I just read and article in a danish newspaper where a danish ICU proffesor said that if the infection spreads in the second half of the year and over the winter we might have to go through a new lockdown. Not because its more dangerous than the former variants, but because of a limited nummer of ICU beds and a health system that is still impacted from the hard work under the previus waves of the epidemy. And the danish health system is a relatively well run health system with high quality care and support. ICU medicine was even invented here in Copenhagen, Denmark, during the polio epidemy in 1952. What effect do you think that a new wave and a potential lockdown in many countries during the second half of the year and over the winter will have for the economy? Nobody is talking about this possibility right now. Greetings from Denmark.

In high inflation times, most companies struggle to grow or even maintain profits. 1974 was a 'bad year' and if you'd bought in then, your shares would've traded sideways until 1982, with the value of the dollar dropping in real terms. If you'd bought into real estate, you would've seen your investment rise with rents. I'd rather own real estate than a random firm in the S&P 500 right now, provided I could service the mortgage. The only companies I'd touch right now are top of the line tech firms like Google or Microsoft, REITs and oil stocks with strong exposure to LNG.

It’s not true that the only people who lose during a downturn are the ones who sell. Many stocks will never revisit all time highs. It’s also nog as simple as, “buy businesses you believe in”. For example, some people believed in Peloton. That stock is never going to revisit all time highs. When that stock crashed, money was destroyed.
Mechanically, it works like this: a person buys a stock for $100. It loses 75% of its market cap. The person sells at $25. $75 per share was destroyed.
I’m firmly in the “never stop buying” camp, but these market conditions are going to destroy a lot of money through unprofitable, speculative businesses. The things to buy are index funds and shares of established, profitable businesses which are down due to temporary circumstances (HD, TGT, JPM, GOOG, etc).

Planning to sell energy stocks which I kept buying when oil was down since 2020 in Jun/July to buy great companies and growth stocks at a bargain for the long term 5-10 year out. Continue to DCA and buy the dip for the next few years.

I invested $2500 of my college fund into Meta options and am currently 75% down. I don't know what to do and can't afford to lose this money. I'm obviously new to the market and this is a big lesson. Any
    one got some golden advice?

Never said they won't cut down on Netflix cause it's either food or Netflix. Don't beloved me? Look at UK. Food or heating. People choose food over heating.

I do not understand why you keep on buying small caps and bet on small businesses. Why not buy stocks like Abbot Labs, Anthem, Cintas, Biontech, Sony, Walmart, Generac or diversified such as Berkshire, Investor AB or companies making money like Mercedes, Porsche, BMW or Volkswagen. In general i would say there is no need to hurry.

Porsche had hardly grown in the past 10 years, its all time high was way back in 2007. BMW has gone up 30% IN 10 YEARS, thats horrific rate of return. Mercedes is lower now than it was 5+ years ago and Volkswagen hit its all time high over 5 years ago and is lower now than it was 12 years ago, they are all slow growth companies that will make you no money. He doesn't like buying into "etfs" so that's why he doesn't hold Berkshire or ARK etc, plus Berkshire has been very slow growth over past 5 years. Jeremy is invested in Walgreens which in my opinion is better than Walmart as is offers a much bigger dividend and is less than 1/5th of the p/e ratio of Walmart while doing just as good and having more room to grow than Walmart does. All the medicinal companies you mentioned seem like good companies to get into, Jeremy just doesnt seem like the guy who wants to hop on that sort of train but they do seem like good plays to make.

@@Mooshimoca Do not forget dividend yield of 9,53% - worldwide stocks are only 8,5% in average per year.
