I watch Chris and your videos religiously.. and vantageles, PA Mining.. I watch as much as I can because I love iron and sometimes see how people do things different and better than me. I can't help that you don't see my face or hear my voice as if I'd asked it in person.
Manufactures recommend this kind of behavior with this type of machines. You should, when possible, have the drives on "the back" in order to protect them, I have to say, seeing Chris operating as smooth and careful as this made this top notch operating.
LamborghiniRulez is spot on with all the emissions garbage they are putting on all the new tier 4 stuff. The back has been made larger to house all the extra piping for the DPF and what not.

I'm in my 40s but never too old to learn. What burned me up is that you didn't say a word to another poster who did NOT ask any questions, and flat out said Chris was doing it wrong. Let that one go, but jump on my case for asking perfectly legit questions.

How come you keep the tracks perpendicular to the ground on the descent. Aren't you leaving yourself open to tipping if one of the tracks hits a soft spot?
When everything is measured to work with that 316,of course it will perform good,put it on a hill I choose and then see how good it is,those mounds were strategically placed at that hight
theodore bormet you’d have trouble climbing the hill if you don’t do that. And the way he was turning the Tracks actually lengthens the life of the undercarriage

Well that's the right way to go up a hill, its the wrong way to come down though, you should of never turned the undercarriage around, you should always walk up a hill and always back down it to save track gear wear.
@@reverandhale863 You're supposed to *dig* with your final drives behind you, and that's not really a hard and fast rule either. Coming down a hill with your tracks backwards is fine as long as you lift them up and keep them level before you land to soften the impact on your final drives. Turning around like this can be good though if your pedals are difficult to accurately press backwards, which just varies from excavator to excavator. Some of them are easy to track backwards, and some aren't. Also can depend on how your seat is adjusted.

I just prefer to be lever when doing down the hill. Keeps you from falling out of the seat and the machine tends not to slide as bad.

I m guess the reason the drives must be at the back is if the track is worn or loose it can't skip over the drive sprocket then ?

good job,but dont do that in my machine,excessive wear ,those machines are to expensive
