    Thank you for this project. I used the same type of beads with an Indian head nickel button. Fun!

    A really good tutorial. I like the way you show the materials with notes at the beginning. A lovely bracelet. I've seen something similar to this with elastic thread and 8mm beads. You could also use a Sharpie to mark one of the ends of leather to help keep track while threading beads on. Think I'll be going to go and make this soon.

      Thank you! I think it would work fine as long as it is close to the same diameter i.e. 1mm to 1.5mm. Or you could use it double stranded to make it that thick.

    Hi,
    I would love to make this gorgeous bracelet! I would like to ask you if the jump rings are 4.5 mm 18ga or 6mm 18 ga. Thank you!

    • @pumpkinglassgallery
      @pumpkinglassgallery  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Marley! The jump rings are 4.5mm ID (inside diameter) 18 gauge. We always go by the inside measurement because it is the most important if you are making chainmaille. A 4.5mmID jump ring in 18gauge measures about 6.5mm in OD (outside diameter). I sell the ones I use on my website at this link: pumpkinglass.com/products/jump-ring-open-45mm-id-18ga-silver-plate-qty-48. Thanks for watching the video!

      Thank you for this information Teresa. I did check the jump rings out on your website, but I reside in Canada, and it states that the shipping cost could not be calculated. Can you help me with this. I did send you an email as well.

    • @pumpkinglassgallery
      @pumpkinglassgallery  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Marlee I could not figure out how to make my website calculate Canadian shipping correctly. I can give directly into Go Shippo however and create the shipping label from there. It seemed really high however, $15 to ship a small padded envelope to a random address I entered in Toronto. If you are still interested, just let me know what jumprings you would like, the quantity, and your address. I can calculate the shipping and send you a PayPal invoice. Thanks for your patience; I have been out for a surgery for several days. Best regards, teresa

    Great tutorial! I didn’t see you sell the buttons, where is best place to get buttons that don’t show copper with wear? Thank you.

    • @pumpkinglassgallery
      @pumpkinglassgallery  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you so much for the feedback and excellent review! I actually do sell the buttons, I’m just really bad at having the time to add everything I sell to my website! Most of the buttons I use are made by Tierracast. My experience has been that they make the highest quality plated findings for jewelry making. Those I price at $2.49 each. In addition to that, I have several buttons that I use and are pictured in the examples that are zinc based pewter for $.99 each. They are solid with no plating so they are shiny silver through and through. I can post them in the next couple days and send you a comment to take a look!

      I sell them Sheryl! They are the nicest plated ones I have ever carried. Technically they are regular open jumprings but they all out of the bag already tightly closed, perfectly flat and aligned. @@pumpkinglassgallery Excited to try these! I think I'd prefer closed jump rings though - what would be the size for those, are they 6mm?

    • @pumpkinglassgallery
      @pumpkinglassgallery  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@tamarafisher5583 The outside diameter is 6mm, yes. We go by inside diameter for chainmaille makers. Even though mine are technically open rings that I use, they come so nicely closed with flush ends that I have to convince people in classes I have that there is indeed a split somewhere even though you can’t see it.
      I forgot to tell you I added an actual picture of the rings I sell so you can see it here: pumpkinglass.com/products/jump-ring-open-45mm-id-18ga-silver-plate-qty-48

    Instead of 6/0 seed beads, can you use 6mm round gemstones? Will those work?

    • @pumpkinglassgallery
      @pumpkinglassgallery  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      So sorry Cindy! I didn’t see your question. A gemstone would only work if the holes were large enough to string on the 1.5mm leather. Most are not that large. Also a size 6/0 seed bead is actually a 4mm. If you were to use 6mm stones, you would need larger jump rings that I used.

    Purchased the supplies to make this bracelet but I am not getting the chevron pattern. I just looks stacked on top of each other. I bought size 6 seed beads, 1.5 mm leather and 18 gauge 4.5 mm jump rings. Did I purchase the right sizes?

    • @pumpkinglassgallery
      @pumpkinglassgallery  ปีที่แล้ว

      You did purchase the correct sizes. A couple things I can think of-
      - make sure the beads are compacted down against each other on each side of the ring. If the beads fit tightly on the leather, they won’t drop down against each other to make the jumprings angle on their sides between them.
      - make sure you purchased 4.5mm 18g ID rings. That means the inside diameter is 4.5mm. If it is a 4.5 OD ring (outside diameter), that means you are actually using a 3.5mm ring and that is much too small to work correctly. If that is the issue, I do sell the rings on my website- pumpkinglass.com/products/jump-ring-open-45mm-id-18ga-silver-plate-qty-48

    • @wendyslaughter8255
      @wendyslaughter8255 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you. I believe it is the diameter of the ring. I will check out your online store.
