2017 YZ250X - Rock Candy Mountain Trail Riding (05-27-2017)

- Took my bike out for some trail riding at the Rock Candy Mountain Trailhead. Second time I've been out there. This is edited down from two hours of riding. Some of you will get bored, but that's ok. That just means you don't like dirt bikes.
I have a 2017 YZ250X with a SmartCarb and Scott's stabilizer. STUPID amounts of fun to ride BRRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAPP!🤘

nice ride, done it plenty. you need to stand up as much as possible. you'll ride better & be less tired at the end of your ride;)
I took the ATVs on that same trail! blast!
I love the trail not many people will go with me though 😂
How is going the yz250x in enduro? The kick start is a problem in trial enduros or start easy?
I had to play with the jetting for a few rides to get it where i wanted it. This might have had to do with the spark arrestor i put on it, but it was running rich. Got a JD Jetting Kit, which had some different jets and after you do it a couple times its super easy to swap jets in and out. Now its running awesome. I want to add a gnarly pipe. I hear that helps with the low end power, also might play with gearing and add a larger gas tank, but to be honest I ride it all over steep mountain stuff and it runs awesome.
The kickstart is not an issue for me. It fires right up every time, especially if the bike is already warm. First kick. I did foul a plug once, so but bring extra plugs and get the high performance plugs and dont have it jetted too rich and you'll be fine. You will also need to add hand guards and a maybe a skid plate. Bike is sick though. The more upgrades I put on it, the better bike it becomes. It would be cool to ride a new KTM, Husky, Beta, etc. but I have no desire to sell this bike. It's sick.
Also, I'm just out riding for fun. If you're racing competitively, electric start might be a little faster, but for what I do I don't notice it at all. Also, kick start never fails like electric start can (if everything else is working properly haha).
I own 2018 yz 250x 62 hours and first kick time even . Mid Alberta Canada not far from mountains . Great bike climbing sand hills with a nobby. Would be incredible with a paddle I bet. Just a beast.
This bike doesn't have electric start?
nope! it was significantly cheaper than the other electric start bikes, though. doesn't really bother me
I was just curious cause the FX does. You would think this day and time everything other than the MX bikes would have them and even some of those are coming with electric start now

thanks for posting,, next time on the rocky bits.... try standing up, it makes it much easier!( former trials rider here)!
Nice video, grew up riding those trails back in the 80's hard to beat the Capitol forest & straddle line.
Thanks! I've only been out there a couple times and need to explore more for sure. Those trails feel a little faster than some other ones. It's nice to be in 2nd gear!
