    I had to laugh at 11:57 😳
It started out perfect after the drain bolt, no water, clean oil. But when the oil pump broken cover, then the oil pump, THEN your hand full of sludge, slappy rods!! O Lord .Get the book fast, but you seem to be gungho to dig deeper so keep diggin. What could go wrong. I own a '51 A that I mow with a JD No5 7foot power mower. Lots of fun and emotion. My uncle gave me my first ride on his A when I was 6 years old on his dairy farm in Hammondsport, NY. I'm 73 now. Thank you for your indepth looks into the A.

Thanks for watching! I love to dig in to these old tractors and I don't stop until they are fixed after I got this tractor running again it's probably one of my favorite tractors

The pressure line from the oil pump to the filter head is broke, or else you broke it pulling the pump down. You shouldn't have been able to pull the pump out without first unhooking the oil line from the top. The main bearings are babbit also, so check those too.

As a professional armchair recliner supervisor and retired mechanic ,, I will not offer any advice or opinions or information that may or may not be in some way useful .. In fact I just like watching like I did as a little boy and marvel at your work skills and interesting projects .. When I grow up I wanna be like U ... LOL

I'm sorry for being a know-it-all, but you should have waited for the book. You have to remove the crankcase cover first and remove the oil line from the top of the pump before pulling the pump from the bottom.
By pulling the pump first, you either broke the oil line or it may have already been broken. If it was broken, that's why you had no pressure. The screen was dirty, but it didn't look dirty enough to have no pressure at all.
I would definitely advise not dismantling the governor without that book. Incidentally, it also has an oil line attached.
If you have to pull the cylinder block, there is probably an oil line that goes to the valve train that has to be disconnected first. When I rebuilt a B last year, I forgot about it and it pulled apart just like the oil line to your pump. Frankly, I thought I knew it all and didn't check the book first.
    Good luck with the project!

It was good to see that Wilson checked out the new rims and gave his approval!

Beet juice is the only way to go be nice if the sodium chloride is phased out and beet juice is the only weight for tractor tires at least in this part of the region.

You are very welcome my friend! I’m so glad it cheered up your day!! I love seeing your projects. I’d think that clogged screen coupled with whatever they put in the oil could be a part of the issue. I was thinking STP Oil Treatment or as we always called it “ oil pressure in a can”. But I look forward to all these projects you do. So very interesting and you explain them so well. Thanks again!!

With all of the blockage on the oil pump intake screen it would be amazing if you had any oil pressure at all. No oil getting into the pump equals no oil getting out. In my view, that's like installing a positive displacement pump in an empty crank case without any oil. Inadequate oil pressure would also at least partially explain a very good reason for the excessive bearing wear and bearing debris in the crank case. This should be another fun project for everyone and TH-cam followers as well. Nick, North West Farmer

The oil pump in my B was in just as bad of condition, with no oil pressure. But a good cleaning and flushed crankcase, reassembled and had great oil pressure. My bearings were in better shape, but there was some play, but hasn't been a problem since. Good luck, and waiting on the next video. 👍

Would all the crud in that screen be enough to decrease oil pressure? Fun project!

All of the sludge in the screen depleted most of your oil pressure. Hopefully your bearings aren't total junk. I should send you the operating manual for my 37 A to look over or photo copy. My 37 has been in the family since 1944.

are you saying “ beet juice as a weight in the wheels “? calcium chloride is corrosive to steel.
does the beet juice go bad? or in the environment it is in, nothing will happen to it. why not
just water? great video, nice to learn about the items of how additional weight is added to
a tractor for better pulling capacity.

Water will freeze and trash tires and if you use the tractor break axles

I would go ahead and build it now rather than half do it now and rest of it later.

What size rear tires ya puttin on the 720? I got a gasser with 13.6's on 12 inch rims I need rubber on and was thinking of going to a 16.9 but have to get some 14 inch rims. That A will be less money, work and stress then your ex old lady was I'm sure😆

Project tractor? Even a brand new tractor requires some work, even if it's wiring/adding monitors.
