- The poison meta is very popular right now, but how does it work? When should you NOT use it, what affect it has on Ronin's burn, damage tests, and more. Back in December 2023, Ragnarok Mobile introduced an updated control for MVPs that enabled poison and burn to affect MVPs in certain instances and in the field (including void). This has led to some great tech to use poison damaging cards and gear to deal great damage. However, it is complicated, so I'll explain it simply and use damage tests as examples.

I have various pieces for the poision metal, I’m main ronin (for now), I have found in pve airship if you go with some1 who has the tail the best option is going offhand card 20% depo chimera 5% (final dmg) then you keep all ur full burn set and your dmg is higher than burn for around 15%, I called hybrid since your not making the poision status (so you don’t loose the 10% skill dmg on tail), for me works pretty well and I skip the problem of keep in mind if someone on my party have the poision meta
Thanks for sharing your experience and the hybrid build. That makes sense, so you don't have to modify your gear too much.
Does the Disaster Arcane Rune, which increased abnormal status attack take effect on poisoned targets?

Hello, can you do a step-by-step guide how to unlock rathgricy?
You have to choose knight and go down the paladin class tree. Once you are divine avenger, do museum and isles brave to get a job change voucher while being a divine avenger. Then choose Rathgricy (which requires a job change voucher)
In pvp does poison and curse coexist?

Yes, jorm can use that and then do AA. I tried searching around TH-cam but some don't open up their gear. They just say they use poison and chimera
Hello sir. Sorry im confused with the poison tail part. If you are equipped with poison tail, sleep, freeze, curse and stun, only the dmg to poisoned unit from the tail hg will take effect even if you have gears that says dmg to enemies under abnormal state/negative effects?
It is a bit confusing. So for the state damage part, poison takes priority so if for example you are bleeding and you are poisoned, I think the extra damage to bleeding gear/skills will not take effect. However your overall state is both poisoned and bleeding so you still gain benefits from abnormal status DMG increasing things. You will still see damage for both bleeding and poison too. This overriding of states is only in this one formula

In some leaks it says increase dmg to enemies under abnormal status, but now the actual headgear says increase dmg to enemies with debuff. Is the cc status like poison bleed stun freeze fear sleep and curse considered as debuffs?

Bro, base on my test base dmg inc from ronin's berserk rune still apply to target in poison statsus so its must be final dmg inc not status dmg

@@WobblyWallaby u can re-test by yourself bro because when i test it its very confused. My setup is ronin with berserk rune and lv 0 status vulnerable. When use lily tail, my dmg higher than when not use = % dmg inc from berserk rune. I really confused about it 😂
Would the computation be the same for pvp?
Yes, in Ori's video, she mentioned how you could purposely poison yourself so you won't get damage from burn calculations from ronin.
I was able to get 141k damage fire element basic attacks with 2 stacks of burn and 155k when adding poison tail. Poison tail doesn’t seem to interfere with burn, so does the interaction fail only when adding chimera or lod?
Is this with Ronin? Or another class like Begetter?
@@WobblyWallabyI tried with runemaster. burn from fire breath and combo breath, and fire element auto attacks.
Begetter’s homunculus can’t use final damage effects of poison tail and chimera star, so it doesn’t interact at all with poison.
I'm not 100% sure how the damage are calculated, I think Ori looked into the code more in her video. I did confirm by testing another comment that the -25% fire reduction from burn DOES work with poison lily equipped. I had hit my wife in PvP with the tail on and saw the reduction take place. If you use two sources of burn, I'd imagine the reduction would increase more, so it makes sense you are seeing great damage even with the poison tail equipped.
Can the poison effect be triggered in magic elemental locked classes? Like NoGu magic build and Doram earth damage and more.
I think in Ori's video she used Genos to show stuff. I can try it out for other magic classes
Yes. It will still works. Element locked classes have nothing to do with the effect of demon lily

@@perkiro11 poison will be first priority in all of abnormal statuses. Thats why classes with bleeding effect skill will not benefit from this build.

so mvp in WSA can be poison and burn at the same time but calculate dmg only "dmg to poison" , the question is "if mvp got burn it cause -25% fire reduc or not?"
I confirmed in a test vs my wife's account, that the -25% fire reduction DOES happen, even if I wear the poison tail.

There is one misleading point in your video. The damage increase the ronin get from the advanced rune Bersek Breath Rune is not compromised by the poison status on the target. That damage increase is directly calculated in Slash - Light formula and it's not part of the DoCalcStateEffectDam ones.

Does this work on Heinrich classes?
It should work, many classes use poison and Heinrich doesn't worry about burn damage so you should be fine
Does it work on void mvps? , there’s no indication they are poisoned and doesn’t look like they lost hp to poison
I thought it was suppose to work from the patch note. But I also noticed the same thing about no HP loss. Maybe they nerfed it in void :(

no for CC, its for elemental attack
there's a purple relic which give u more dmg on enemy with CC
is it good for PVP jorm? since jorm has poison in snake form
in pvp we need high LUK to inc the chance and duration for poison even with chimera star card so take it in mind
but jorm field can reduce enemy CC RES by 50% and there's a HG for head that also reduce 50% CC RES in total (5% each attack, 10x stack)
so.... try it by yourself 😉

in theory yes, -100% CC res from both snake field & the HG and not to mention more poison atk from chimera

On Global Eternal Love, there's like 10 Chimera cards on the exchange. I think people are selling it for zeny, since it's about 1.1B each. I assume it's people that used that card for PvP before but now want to cash out on it.
Is the poison status up all the time?
Yes, you can have poison up all the time, which is why it's unfair. Unlike hard status like stun, you won't hit a certain limit where it stops applying to the target.
Hey Wobbly, I believe your explanation is a little bit misleading FOR RONIN ONLY, I made a lots of test, and even with 2chime, 1 LOD, Ninja card and Tail, (75% poison dmg inc), instead of 1 mino star (25% L dmg + 5% MVP dmg) poi tata (25% moob inc) Tail (10% skill dmg inc) Alice (15% mvp dmg), and the 2nd line of berserk rune at 29%, the poison set is down for about 30%+ final dmg, so its not only the burn losing in my case 63% dmg inc to burn, its also all the endgame/gacha gear. I firmly believe that for RONIN you can't take advantage of poison in any form. let me know ur comments about it!
Thanks for sharing your experience with that. I've seen some Ronins using poison and some people mention they have a hybrid build. Maybe because Rath's in their party use it. I personally wouldn't use poison since I main Ronin and I 100% agree that you take a big loss in damage. But I think it depends on your Ronin's stats so some of it may vary depending on the person. I've also seen some whales use poison build as Ronin, but maybe they are taking some damage loss and it's less optimal.

@@WobblyWallaby oh Sorry, 1 last comment, I also believe that other clases as you show on the video area 100% benefited for the poison meta, for example, to my point of view the meta is here no for the current ranking of jobs, but for the upcoming heroes/collabs, I spend a lot of zenny and bcc trying to get all the pieces for the build, thinking of the Thor job maybe?
I think Thor has a lot of potential. I had some requests to try out the poison build with it. I'll make a video on it
+20% dmg to large armor a.e and Drake star card will let you be able to slot in 1 card . whales can just use +15 combustible knife for Pen
True, even with 1% large monster depo with mino star will get that extra percentage
What, ck +15 isn’t even that expensive. My only spendings nowadays are only cards, depo, so 24m+ a day will only takes you 3-4 months only from daily farm alone, not including card drops from ora/instances/daily farm, and im not even close ro being called a whale
Using fire build is much cheaper and just requires 1 firelord kaho card, matchstick mouth and the left side elemental gears (othershore and accessories)
Is the fire build just to make them burn? The burn damage on bosses won't exceed a certain amount. But good versus players since I don't think they have a cap
@@WobblyWallaby matchstick+kaho gives lots of burn status. And makes fire dmg do more. Couple that with fire accessories, othershore armor with +20% elemental DMG and fire converter and you can do huge damage to targets. In void especially it melts mvps.
For comparison: my RM can hit dark snake lord for average of maybe 5m per hit with HA. With heinrich using fire build I can hit snake lord for 35m on his auto skill

@@domingoiiflores5816 I use 2 +15 dagger (2x Mino star, 1 kobold leader 1 firelord kaho star), +15 othershore armor with +20% elemental DMG (poitata star card), 2 +15 heart of molten fire accessory with +12% fire atk (valk rathgricy cards or hein). Matchstick (magic firewood) mouth gear.

umm is poison better than bleeding?
I think it depends on which damage multipliers you have for bleeding. Poison just happens to have some of the best cards to go with it, such as Chimera star and Ninja.

Can you combo the poison status with rath’s FOP? For PVP and PVE.
Elga is the only class that show how much difference this poison build is atm. The damage output is huge
Does Elga's magic and physical combination have some special effect with the poison damage?
@@WobblyWallaby nope. It’s her level 4 and level 7 hero core passive skills. My Elga have over 200% pen/mpen combined. So for instances with very high final damage like whiteship and PSR her damage is insane. Also at lvl 7 core her 3 atks are count as separate damage. She can solo PSR in less than 5 mins since each of her atk deal 2m+ for a combine of 6m+ per 3 hits at 98% final damage reduction. No other classes can do this kind of damage in PSR atm

Not worth it especially if youre planning to buy those cards
