I love such videos! I was always used to travel for a week stay, with a M-sized suitcase. It's the first time this year in June, that I travelled with just ONE cabin carry-on, small piece of luggage and actually made it! I couldn't believe it. I packed clothes+beachwear for 1 week trip+toiletries and everything was enough and lasted! Couldn't believe it. Of course the fact that it was summer, made things easier with smaller and lighter clothes. My next trip will be a total challenge as I will be travelling in Feb for 4-5 days with an even smaller piece of luggage (backpack 36L) as I booked a cheap ticket that allows just ONE under seat PIECE of luggage (45X35X20). Of course I will be staying at a friend's house where I will have everything that I will need (towels, toiletries, etc.) but still it will be a big challenge for me, even to manage carrying my very personal stuff in such a small bag. Let's see! But it is so liberating to travel light indeed! Thank you for the great video.
You can bring enough on carryon. Connecting flights are easier, your luggage never leaves you. Just make sure liquids are 100ml or under, in a separate bag, ready to take out when going through security.
I love how there's the spot in the front you can put your laptop! I always carry mine in my backpack with all my cameras & everything, it gets so heavy! Lol
Thanks for the great video Aly! I've been using packing cubes for 24 years and LOVE them. Helps with organization and packing! My larger one (medium) is just starting to wear out. I keep whittling down what I take, even if it's for months, and it sure makes a BIG difference!!
I clearly have NEVER known how to pack! This video was amazing! Clothes aren’t my issue, but my girlie products, OMG, I’m traveling like Dianna Ross or Cher!😅
Thank you. I use hostel dorm beds so not always possible to get washed stuff dry quick especially in winter. Am aiming for just 30l backpack longterm even inc my meds as cant go through bag being lost as cost me so much time and money. No extra personal bag. Mexico was grest but not cheap plus hurricane stopped me going to Puerto Escondido had to get refund as was shut down and got morning bus out...still liked it but on a budget and found prices not so different from Europe unless you lived on a taco each day.I took intercity buses but was costly but wanted to avoid minibuses as many more dangers .An experience.
I love the packing cubes that have another compartment for the dirty clothes. It also compresses down. Because when you travel what do you do with dirty clothes!
Yes those are always a good idea. The packing cube set that I used in the video has a bag that can be used for shoes or dirty laundry (I briefly showed it in the video)
I have scoured your packing videos. THANK YOU!! Have ordered the packing cubes. Looks like you didn't use all in your suitcase. I assume the others went in your hand carry on under the front seat? Thanks for letting me know!
This is exactly what I needed!!! We are leaving to Mexico in a month and I’m determined to do carry on only 😅 plus coming from Canada, I was concerned about the size of carry on!
Somehow I manage to get along just fine without packing cubes. I cruise and haven't had a problem with the amount of storage space in those cabins. I think, however, that I'm an underpacker.
So great! I'm going on a highway 1 California trip for two weeks- any tips! We start in LA where it's warm and end in SF where it's cool! We're going to do hiking, some beach and site seeing. I'm struggling. I think I'll do 2 shorts, 4 tees, 2 tanks, a skort, 1 jeans (wear on plane), light jacket...that's what I'm starting with.
Different airlines wont take Level 8 carry on . For example Air Canada and West jet allow only 55 centimeters high , 23 centimeters thick and 40 centimeter wide. I like the level 8 because of the laptop pocket and seems lighter. Any suggestions?
In Canada, I've flown on WestJet, AC, Swoop and Flair with this exact Level8 suitcase, and with the green soft-sided one, I've flown on all except AC with it
We just flew on Swoop again last week. I'm not sure how strict they are, but the bags I use shown in this video are at the limit in size and I've never had an issue. Both are from Amazon, links are in the description and the exact size dimensions are listed on the product pages on Amazon
Tip for ADHD travelers: Cubes in my experience are not the way to go. They turn into a disaster fast. Instead I suggest clear zip lock bags with pre sorted outfits. It cuts down on the panic and anxiety. Sincerely, An ADHD traveler and backpacker.
It’s hard for guys to pack A specially dress up shoes. Your not allowed to enter nice restaurants without dress up shoes. She’s take a lot of space Great video
Oh man, how I wish I had seen this 2 weeks ago!!!! SUBSCRIBED ✅ My check in bag got DESTROYED by the cruise ship line, to the point where it was unusable. They replaced it with a new, but totally different one. Now I have to pay to actually replace the one that was destroyed because I borrowed it 😢. From now on it will only be carry on luggage 🧳
Aly, as a guy, I'd like to see what your husband packs for a week's vacation! Thanks!
Great idea! Stay tuned 😊
Did a guy video ever get made???
Answer the man! 😂
@shanelsmith34 haha yeah it's been almost a year!
How about for a full sized woman?
Oh thank you so much, at last a video without excessive dialogue! I find them painfully longer than they need to be.

I love love love packing for my vacation! My kids laugh at me 😂 but I count it as part of the vacation experience
Such a HUGE HUGE bag for carryon. In NZ we are only allowed 7kilos… and the bags are much smaller than yours looks!!!!
You can bring enough on carryon. Connecting flights are easier, your luggage never leaves you. Just make sure liquids are 100ml or under, in a separate bag, ready to take out when going through security.
PS: any chance you can do a video for seniors? Packing, tips for travel, things to avoid if you are older?
I love how there's the spot in the front you can put your laptop! I always carry mine in my backpack with all my cameras & everything, it gets so heavy! Lol

Of all the packing videos I’ve watched, you pack the most like me. Love this video!
Thanks Chrys!

I (Kelley) want to pack light. I am just a what if kinda person and I pack for what ever what if comes to mind. lol I struggle to stay under 50lbs

We cruise 🚢 often and I love packing cubes! You should try a cruise 🚢 They are awesome 😎
I definitely want to try a cruise one day, hopefully soon 😊

How did it go?
Somehow I manage to get along just fine without packing cubes. I cruise and haven't had a problem with the amount of storage space in those cabins. I think, however, that I'm an underpacker.

What is the total weight for carry ons with your airlines. Its great that u can fit what u need in the bag but lots of airlines weigh our carry ons.
Nice video - lots of great tips!!
Love these vids. What are the bags you put your shoes in please?
English budget airlines only allow a much smaller carry on case these days, reallt hard to fit it all in
Aly Smalls are you going to do more videos of you putting on and wearing Wide brimmed Hats including wearing them in a car
This was a very informative packing video. Just curious. Where do you pack your computer with the soft sided bag?
In the front zipper compartment
❤❤❤so so good tips on packing. Going to follow these for our trip to Las Vegas this May for a week . Xx
Have fun!
Thanks for the footrest hammock! I’m getting this
It is life changing! I have a video coming up with some more flying tips where I demo the foot hammock. It's the best!

Aly...who makes your small underseat bag ?
I def bring too much on trips after watching this lol
I see that each airline has different size carry on sizes. What is the size you guys chose?
Where did you get your belt? It looks super cute with the dress in one of your other videos.
Amazon! I just added a link to it in the video description (I labeled it boho belt)
Love your video - thank you!
Thanks Suzanne :)
I noticed you didn’t appear to pack any trousers ⁉️
Well done . Thanks
My struggle is always shoes.
Swoop and the carryon requirements... I am finding it so hard to find a carryon. How strict are they?
We just flew on Swoop again last week. I'm not sure how strict they are, but the bags I use shown in this video are at the limit in size and I've never had an issue. Both are from Amazon, links are in the description and the exact size dimensions are listed on the product pages on Amazon
This is still overpacking >< I can get a week in a personal item. I strive to see how small I can pack into.
Good job!

Where is the flat purse from?
how do you handle purchases? or do you not buy much?
I don't buy much, and if I do, it has to be small/lightweight
No curling iron?
Not when I travel anywhere hot/humid, but I do bring it on other trips and it tucks in nicely against the spine of the suitcase
Aly, what do you use to get your teeth so white? 😁
Can you show us how to pack when you are visiting your location where you would actually need dick clothing to stay warm?
It’s hard for guys to pack
A specially dress up shoes. Your not allowed to enter nice restaurants without dress up shoes.
She’s take a lot of space
Great video
Funny 😁
I tried rolling that last road trip I went on....items were MORE wrinkled!
This is sensible, but not useful for winter trips. A trip where you’re in yr bikini all week is easy to pack
Oh man, how I wish I had seen this 2 weeks ago!!!!
