Wilk shows that Ghent, Flanders and Belgium have roots flowing in their veins, their hearts and souls. Ow Yeah!
As frontman of Wilk, Jorg D'hondt has quite a track record. He has been on stage for years as an accomplice of many an artist. He shone as a musician with a.o. Shocking Blue, The Incredible Time Machine, Xandee (Eurovision), Lauren Hoffman, and many more.
Now the time has come to tell his own story. In his debut album, Jorg goes in search of his roots and translates his world, memories and visions of the future into sound and riffs that continue to resonate throughout his universe.
The starting point for each song is the bright red ES335, Gibson'64:
"That guitar is the door to my soul. When I pumped this gem through a '72 Fender Twin Reverb, I knew immediately that I had found my inner colour!"
And that colour keeps getting deeper, richer! The songs are ready and the live set keeps growing. In October the debut album was released, new songs are in the making and we are ready to conquer stages and hearts.
Wilk on stage is a tribe, a brotherhood of rhythm and horns, grooves and moves from root to branch.
