Thanks for this great upload of a HW classic song, Tuba Skinny Style, and greetings from Amsterdam, in Holland, always great music from you guys.
Shay Cohn on the coronet leads the group. And Erica Lewis on vocals has been with them for years on the street in New Orleans.
Five have been together for ten years; the others at least six, tho a couple part-time at first. All first class musicians, they practice, busk, and play a lot - It shows. They are a real co-op and good friends. Erika and Shaye go back another couple years and also have a country band, the Lonesome Doves.
hell ya nice job, thank you! I seen them a few years ago, on the street playing and loving life. I think I tipped them a Hamilton could have been a Grant I don't remember how many drinks I had had by then. just saying.

Great playing of a good song. The mic is too close to the guitar; that is most of what we hear.
Country ? Bluegrass ?? Traditional Jazz ??? Who cares ............
As Louis Armstrong used to say. there are really only 2 kinds ofmusic godd and bad and Tuba Skinny is all good.
Had the pleasure of seeing them live at the NC Folk Festival in Greensboro, NC on Sept. 7 and they were really really good. Great show with great crowd response that the band built on.
@@thendrjazz That's very much how it was in Philadelphia the night before this .. the joyous energy in the room was palpable and Tuba Skinny fed off it. Erika was very sick, missed the White Plains show and plopped her head on her hands during supper, but sure delivered. (And her son was sick too; up with her parents.) Greg had a cold too, and maybe Shaye. They were only 1/2 way through a long tour, but they love this music and always play so well !! 'Troopers' in the best sense of the word ...
