I feel like people forget the model of GW2 when comparing it to WoW or FFXIV. GW2 has no sub model, if there is nothing driving you to play until the content you want comes out then don't. You will still get your content, it's just coming a bit later down the line.
Yes, both FFXIV/WoW launch a bit more content on the initial patch and raids come much earlier for WoW and a little earlier for FFXIV. But if they implemented Raids 3 months in their playerbase would have paid an additional £30 by that time on top of the expansion. With JW you are paying for the expansion and then that's it. If you want to take a break you still have all your content. Come back in a year or so even once it's all out if you really are only interesting in one thing.
As for the housing, I heard so many "hardcore raiders" who would say about how they don't care about content like that. Second they try it though they are some of the biggest housing addicts i've seen. Give it a try, it might surprise you.

The content pacing for me is all about hype and being part of an MMO launch experience and I think that's a bit missing for me this time, there is no big world boss to face, no secret mystery legendary collection to find and no raid to figure out.
I really enjoy the epic adventure into new content and finding everything, which some of JW was great for, but I certainly miss having the meta events to play with my community and of course new raid content.
A lot of the discovery in JW launch is also 'single playthrough', and I think it's fine to have content like that but I would really like some 'mastery' content on release as well so I've got something to keep doing after the first few days.
What I'm trying to get across here is that 'log out after 2 days and come back in 6 months' is not the type of experience I like in MMOs, I WANT the game to give me something that I just HAVE to do with my community every day until we've got it on lock (like Dragon's End in EoD for example, or a new raid, or something in WvW), and not even for reward, just because it's cool gameplay, I know some players want the rewards but I don't really care about rewards at all.
And yeah, that's not what this model offers, but that's kinda the point right, I'm criticizing it based off my perspective and preferences. The pricetag here is irrelevant because I would happily pay more for that experience, paying for content and gameplay is a business model that I am A-OK with (which is one of the reasons why I quite like the new anet model actually)
On the housing I simply have zero interest in any non 'functional' systems in the game (and indeed in any game), for some context I use more or less default skins or outfits on all of my characters and I don't own any mount skins at all.
If something doesn't affect what my character can do, or create some kind of gameplay for me, I'm not particularly interested.
I'm down to design beetle racing tracks for competitive play, but that only really works in the guild hall not the homestead because it doesn't use the squad system.
I don't really want to get into comparisions in terms of content amount, because I don't think it's relevant, it's all about the type of content that exists at different points of the expansion, the only thing I would point out is that WoW (not sure about 14) does BOTH of these things. The expac is dropped with a MASSIVE amount of exploration content AND replayable combat content and then they will continue to release more over the course of the expac.
Again I think the comparison is irrelevant because of just how much bigger WoW is than GW2 but I think it is worth saying because the statement wow and 14 release 'a bit' more content is pretty misleading. It's also worth noting that WoW will release new content comparable to it's launch every 5 months or so (new 8-9 boss raids, new megadungeon, new maps, new m+ dungeons etc).
This is irrelevant like I said, I just want to state it for the sake of accuracy, the way you worded your statement seems to imply that wow and 14 expacs are mega frontloaded because of the subfee but that's not the case, wow is frontloaded AND releases a huge amount of content for all player types throughout an expansion.

It would be nice if you could state your role in the squad-overlay, so everyone or at least the leader sees it with one look.

What is there usually to do in MMORPG's?
    You explore.
    You fight.
    You do puzzles.
    You do quests.
I think GW2 is really lacking in the puzzle department. Jumping puzzles are not puzzles and their rewards are lacking. I'd really like them to let us do some problem solving. And not those silly riddles to find collection items. They are so obscure, it will make people look up the answer. Make physical puzzles that you have to solve together in a dungeon or hidden area of a map. Like in Sea of Thieves you get an image of a location and you have to figure where it's at in the map.
And the achievement panel really does not suffice as a questing mechanism.

Repeatable hearts are boring and not content by the way.

Aetherblade Path of Twilight arbor dungeon is a good example of this.

Yes, hearts guide people to events.
However, lets compare it to a succesful game like Sea of Thieves. Their events are sharks appearing out of nowhere to attack you, or kraken or ships. Even an entire fleet of ships can appear.
Whereas in GW2 you have these scripted boring events, follow this guy, protect him, burst trash mobs. I'd really like to see instead some kind of bandit ambush event on the road, and MOST IMPORTANTLY: make them an equal amount of bandits or just 1 or 2 more than the players present, and MAKE THEM CHALLENGING. They should CC you, they should have big animated hard hitting skills. In fact if you just stand there and do nothing, they should be able to kill you in 6 to 9 seconds.
And the things 'guiding' people to those events in that game are voyages (simple quests) or more comparable to hearts, forts. Which bring you to big golden chests of beautiful loot.
How about instead of boring silly hearts, they make castles or hideouts which we can raid whenever we want, as long as we bring either tons of skill or a friend or 2. Again, NO TRASH MOBS, just a few well telegraphed hard hitting enemies with CHARACTER.
And for 'voyages' they could give us an outpost from which we can start an escort, delivery or some sort of mystery to solve.
Basically, they should really take lessons from Sea of Thieves. They game feels so much more enticing, engaging and real.

why you apologizing? you do you. not all content is tailored to everyone, but there's a vast hype around it for the majority of players.

I disagree, Path of Fire has bounties. It has probably more replayability than most recent open world content. Especially because unlike World Events, I can actually run them at more than 15 fps.

The highlight of the expansion: Homesteads.
The thing I couldnt care less about in a MMORPG: Singleplayer Sims Homesteads
To me it just sounds like an excuse to introduce a bunch of gemstore stuff and gacha systems and ppl that do care about homesteads are gna receive a much larger bill than the expansion price.
