    Most people would think they've made in life if they could afford to own and run the tender.

    • @patthonsirilim5739
      @patthonsirilim5739 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      the front tender is a proper 68 feet 3 deck catamaran jet yacht a respectable yacht for any multi millionaire put in perspective how insane the main one is super yachts are getting so big there more like a cruise liner then a yacht at this point its has lhd like ability with its hanger and aircraft this thing if converted could actually be a proper long range explorer naval ship

      @@patthonsirilim5739 I have the feeling that sometime in the not-too-distant future, somebody is going to buy a decommissioned carrier and refurbish it as their personal yacht.

    • @nanoflower1
      @nanoflower1 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@dmannevada5981 I don't see that happening as you would basically have to strip it down to the hull and build it back up. Better to commission a shipyard that builds carriers to build you a giga-yacht based on the basic carrier chassis. Yes, I do think someone will end up doing something just like that in the next 50 years given the way these large corporations just keep getting larger and larger. Which means the money supply for the toys isn't stopping any time soon.

      Jinisinsane actually he saved quite a lot by building at Kleven instead of building at a bespoke gig yacht shipyard like lurssen. They built Ulysses and andromeda based on a commercial naval design and saved much money on the construction as well since the interior was not as handcrafted as usual yachts but was more done to a commercial standard more seen on cruise ships.

    A 57ft Yacht used to be on the top deck, it was a navy blue hanse 575. But they took it out because it took too long to assemble (putting the mast on etc). They sold it to another guy, who then sold it to my dad. We had it for a year and it was awesome, we sailed everywhere and it was such a cool boat and I wish we still had it. Without betraying confidences - Graeme is a very keen SCUBA diver, adventure sportsman & explorer. Another of his hobbies is working on the design of Super Yachts - with designers. As he is using a yacht he is working on the designs & build of a new yacht. He generally gets his build money back selling his used yacht into the Russian market where buyers want a Ulysses type yacht but haven’t the time, desire or network to design and build their own custom yacht

    The snubber is for taking up shock in the chain, in a wavy condition the yacht jerks on the chain, this can cause several things one being the anchor can jerk loose. The snubber gives the chain some elasticity so there’s no jerking it also takes the strain off of the windlass.

    Any chance you can get your hands on the GA for Ulysses? Could be interesting to see the difference between this and Andromeda.

    they look like commercial fishing/tug boats. Dont know if it's the colour of the industrial looking design and equipment on deck.
    Megayacht without a swimming pool? Bizzare.
    Look at 3:47, look at all the clutter on deck and look at the other yacht in the background. Looks so much cleaner and sylish

    Buying 2, 1 as a place holder until the owner has what he wants, price no object. Reminds me of a smart move most 'normal' people won't consider.
    A Texas Billionaire wanted his house built, and the Contractor explained the "T" crane situation in the US.
    They were in high demand, so rentals and used equipment were costly, and hard to get what you wanted.
    "So that means used equipment, 18 months old has a high resale value?" asked the owner. "Yes".
    His simple solution, buy the "T" crane you want to use for my house, in my name, so I own it.
    I'll rent it to you under current rental rates, and I'll sell my crane, used once, only to build 1 mansion in 18 months. It appears I net positive, and you ALSO save money on building my home.
    Done deal.
