@@EMBEEAY it was my biggest problem for 14 years. The fact is that they only stop a small fraction of drug shipments, around 5%. They'll never stop people taking drugs by intercepting them like this, there's just too many.
To be fair, I know the guys will reseal packages, at least in my experience. I’d hardly describe them as “scumbags”. I’m happy my international stuff is screened coming in to the UK.
Would love to see as many as possible rescue dogs in the force! That would help immensely with the backlog and it’s been shown it can be done! There are suitable dogs out there and im sure it will save the force some money a win win
It's a good idea but maybe security instead? You know searching for incendiary items or searching for guns. Prohibition just makes narcotics more dangerous. It did the same with alcohol when that was prohibited. When doctors used to prescribe heroin to addicts do you know how many were prescribed to? 340. That's 340 addicts in the entire country receiving treatment before prohibition changed everything. It was dubbed 'the British system' and it worked! It's incredible isn't it, 340 in the entire country. Now look at what that number is today. The war is all but lost and it's the end user that pays the price with their lives. And I'm not just talking about addicts. Kids who have their anxiety prescriptions cut are turning to illicit benzodiazepines and are dying because they're cut with Fentanyl and Benzimidazoles! You can't say a 16 year old kid whose struggling with anxiety and draconian prescribing rules deserves that? Addiction and mental health issues are often concurrent and should be treated as such. So, advocate for ourselves and for now the harm reduction falls on us. With that being said stick to blister pack medications. They're infinitely more safe however some are still fraudulent so, Wedinos! Wedinos is a free and anonymous laboratory where you can send and test your wares. Send 1/4 of a pill from each blister, ampoule, whatever etc send it to that laboratory and have your stuff tested before using it. It can save your life. Also look through all their samples to get an idea what legitimate medications look like and the form fake meds can take. It'll give you a general idea and you might see something you recognise. These 2 things are the best forms of harm reduction in this country today. Take it further by educating yourselves on whatever you intended to take, the pros, cons, risks, laws and how to get around it all in a safe manner that improves your life, doesn't harm it or worse. That and advocate for ourselves. It's no one's business if we need to take something to get by. I'm on the spectrum and have or had debilitating anxiety. That was until I made some serious lifestyle changes and got on Clonazepam (and other things). Not prescribed to me of course, but I try and I'll not stop trying. But in the meantime to function, to get up and go to work everyday, to have a quality of life I need this anxiety medication and it's not these people's job to take that away from me. (Ok technically it's their job but it shouldn't be, that's the point. I'm hurting no one, I help people and animals. I do not deserve to be persecuted because doctors won't prescribe what I need. Unless you'd all want me never leaving the house and on benefits? Is that what you want? So if not then please please think about what I'm saying because my way has me independent, in full-time work, part time studies and improving my life. Case by case basis, in my case I need this and I can't afford to go private doctor shopping. All my money goes to the vet, I have a renal cat and insurance is great, it really is but it's only 4k a year. That's amazing but it doesn't begin to cover the needs of a sweet and wonderful cat with kidney stones and CKD. So I need to stay in work so my cat can always receive the treatment she needs and live a long and happy life. I also would like a long and happy life and without this medication I can't leave the house too well. Please think about what prohibition had got this country, what it does to your fellow brother and sisters, what it does to you children. Think about alternative solutions. I love your idea for rescue animals I just hope it can be used to actually help people. Not hurt them. Prohibition doesn't just hurt, it kills people, kids. There's better ways. Our governments just aren't the greatest when it comes to what's best for the common person.
I could tell the guy scanning knew what it was and almost just let it pass; when he said “organic material” he was probably referring to cannabis; and who would bet if they or their loved ones smoke …
