Then we did not give a Fck.....and now I see this gameplay, perfect timing of items, perfect reading of enemy location, perfect shots even when the enemy player is not seen yet...but where is the magic? Can you explain thoroughly the aim style of clawz? I've seen mouse cams, and it doesnt look like his palm is in much contact with the mouse pad, but his control is still insane. Can you explain how he still wields such control?
Good mouse control from playing a lot + cloth pad + probably wide skates instead of the newer dot skates = A lot of friction. Any sensitivity slower than 15cm/360 is gonna be very controllable with some practice, and I've seen some genuine freaks who can go even faster.

For people complaining about Railgun balance..im pretty sure clawz is more experienced at QL than zenaku and he is just choosing to use the Railgun as much as he is. So its more about playstyle and experience.
Zen comes from QL, he knows this game very good afaik. ALso rail is a broken weapon. It was maybe balanced correctly 20 years ago when ppl had half accuracy of what they have nowadays. To do 100 lg dmg with lets say 40 accuracy, u need almost 3 seconds of constant aiming at the oppoinent, while being exposed to his return damage. WIth rail u do 80 dmg in split second, from other side of the map, without enemy even knowing ur there, not mentioning return fire. Say what u want, it is broken. I do not lnow what the remedy is, but I think if rails does 60 dmg instead of 80 it could still be broken.

@@jankowalski1501 make it a dmr, that way it will be used like how the starting shotgun in quake 1 is used to chip away damage except more accurate. you can make it 20 damage per shot and give it enough of a rate of fire boost to where it mirrors the time to kill of 100 damage railgun, but with it being contingent on hitting each shot, something that is much harder to do than landing just one shot. but if we are being honest, the railgun as it is right now is still less bullshit to deal with than the endless tribolt spam in qc, and the shotgun/machinegun/nailgun buffs.
I would really like it if someone could suggest clawz to try (and possibly stream) him playing either PQL or CPMA. both are way more fastpaced than vanilla quake live/3 gameplay with additional things like airstrafe and instant weapon switch for combos.

@@Deadmeatsz it's not really that people hate cpma air control but rather it's trying to combine two things, quakeworld and quake 3. quakeworld had no railgun, but quake 3 and cpm does. quakeworld doesn't have lg to rail combos, but quake 3 does. people have to be careful about rails, which limits their freedom to move around unlike quakeworld, but they also can't be too slow or else they're going to be giving up too much space and rushed with rockets, and a lot of people find this too frantic. i think if cpm had lower damage values for the guns, most people would like it more, but then it wouldn't be cpm it would be cq3.

the aimbot is just theory. Like in defrag where people use bots to find routes and/or bugs, so one extrapolate to an "ideal agent" and think about the consequences of that. That gameplay differs from that is a different thing. I was talking about "principles", you about "empirical outcome". Ofcourse broken principles can still work out in reality, but I'm trying to go beyond that and find maybe something better. @@ins7181 ha nerfing damage more may not be necessary. Rail is a big comeback mechanic when players are down in items. But low ammo could make the map play differently if players want to stick around and horde rail ammo.
60 dmg but then it charges up by adding 5 dmg per conseccutive hit to a max of 100. But if you then miss one, it goes back down 60 dmg. I think that would work nicely :)

If rail is not broken, then show me how to outplay an aimbot. And this performance is pretty close to aimbotting. How can other weapons counter the angels? And how decisive can the rail player be over one's own playing style? Can he dictate everything, so to speak, and all you can do is react to it?
1. rail is not on every map. 2 lg aimboting is even more violent because it pushes you so strongly you have no idea what is happening you are just dead once it reaches you. rail you can hide, and rocket prediction, but lg you can't with aimbot. anyway his rails are more than solid, but also his rockets are important part of his railing ability when combat is getting closer. this map has always been a rail map anyway.
Rail is not OP, ex_interp is. Shooting someone when they are already behind the wall, hitting shots once they are passed you. etc. It benefits slow reaction time. The problem is online netcode of Quake Live not the rail. This is also why so many players dont do as good on lan.

in ca you have almost unlimited rail, but you can't really rail that much
