- King Tee spoke exclusively with VladTV about coming up in his career with NWA and forming close friendships with all the rappers in the group, including Dr. Dre. The West Coast rapper then shared a story about him and Dre trashing the hotel rooms and even going as far as to throw T.V.'s out of the windows.
Moving along, King Tee explained how he made a move away from the gangsta rap sound with his group The Alkaholiks, who did more party music. To hear more about King Tee's come up, including working with Ice Cube, hit the above clip.
Amerikkka's Most Wanted is one of the greatest albums of the '90s, regardless of genre.
*****
You're fuckin' GORGEOUS... damn, made me wipe my mouth just now... forgive my thirst.
Death Certificate was his best work, top 5 rap album ever
pete louis
I used to think that, too... and depending on what day it is, I still might... but Amerikkka's Most Wanted is complete all the way through... the production was perfect and the passion was intense... I think it's the best album to come out of the NWA legacy and that includes The Chronic
pete louis
"Why are there more niggas in the pen than in college?"...
That was the first time I heard that statement... although it has proven to be false today... that was an eye-opener back then.
"You wanna free Africa, I'll stare at ya... because we ain't got it too good in America"...
Another powerful statement... because everybody was on some Mandela, apartheid shit back then... rockin' African medalions and talking about "free Africa"... but shit was bad in the hood and nobody was talking about that (except for NWA and Cube)... it sounded like something Doughboy would say, like he said at the end of Boyz N the Hood... "Either they don't know... they don't show... or they don't care about what's going on in the hood."
Kory Green I Still Bang that shid Classic Album my favorite song is You Can't Fade Me
Didn't Cube write Boys in the Hood? Half of Eazy first album. A lot of Straight Outta Compton. Cube's pen game is stamped and certified just from that.
Jason Stewart ice cube wrote boys n the hood. The doc wrote most with dre ren and Eazy wrote himself too
Its not ok
Jason Stewart .. after that trash
Adam Strapz eazy e didn’t know how to write , he just had the voice
Eazy didnt write shit
Vlad was clearly hurt when he found out Cube was a mere mortal.
lol
True
bruh.... nigga been butt hurt since Straight Outta Compton movie.
he's been feeling some type of way since SOC came out
@@brocksampson01 ice cube was butt hurt way before that.
Cube must've turned down an interview with Vlad..
Hell yea!
+Nafi Deprince That's a definitely.
+Nafi Deprince vlad stay sneak dissin cube what this neandrathal got against cube lol
Vlad was upset that Ice Cube made controversial remarks towards the Jewish community on Death Certificate.
+G The Genius vlad is not black ?
Cube is irreplaceable. He is a true artist, look, voice, delivery, lyrics, intelligence.
Big up to OG King Tee for giving Deadly Threat props, one of the most underrated MC's on the west. Threats album sicindahead classic!
People don't know Kham and Threat were supposed to be the West Side Connect gang...too bad Threat did just 1 album...
the amount of songs Cube wrote for others is probably triple what others have written for Cube
Ice Cube only had like 1-3 songs written for him. I know one them is Gangsta Fairytale
Have this same energy for Drake
Exactly
Somebody writting for cube. I don't believe that need more proof. Ice Cube is one of the goat's. Lyrical tyrant
Del the funky homosapien is criminally underrated.
Shoutout to c-town
Del the funky homosexual
+Bogeham13 hilarious...
+97ma well his name didn't "kill his career from the jump"...trust me
97ma hip hop fans shallow enough to not give a mc a listen based off a name and stupid enough to not know what homosapien means aren't really his audience anyway
Man I listened to him back in the day but hearing him talk and telling stories, I really like his voice he seems so laid back and chill. King Tee is a legend! 💯
When I found out that Del wrote Cube's "Jackin' For Beats", I was heartbroken.
Ice Cube must of called Vlad a culture vulture or some'n lol
Hecks yea lol
Kansas City Chief comedy.....Vlad IS a culture vulture ass bitch
Somebody need to check vlad about ice cube put some RESPECK on his name
ice cube is a fraud fuck him
ice cube is a fraud fuck him
@Cortez Hollister his music is based on things that he's been through and witnessed. He puts the his name in his music a lot to tell the stories in his point of view because its his music and its not right to just put other people's name in rhymes from criminal activities they've done
+Dr pride Cube is my Cousin so fuck you
Osia Wideman Show us proof or stfu
That Del wrote "A Gangsta's Fairytale" now makes sense. In the song, Cube makes reference to Jack going to see "Dr Bombay" for a shot in the ass. In Del's first album, he had a song called "Dr. Bombay." That wasn't a common lyrical reference in hip-hop.
These sit downs with older hip hop heads ties up a lot of loose ends for me as a kid who grew up in the 80s. Keep up the good work, Vlad.
he Co.wrote it with Cube they cousin's Cube wrote for Del also
That Alkaholiks hat is on point. I want one
King Tee's "Ruff Rhymes" still tight 27 years later!
King T in da house.. Compton 4 life..
+Hip-Hop Kung Fu TRIFLIN'
Played like a piano & color blind was classic songs taking me back when I was a kid.
KING TEE* Absolute Legend!👑💐🎤
You can hear Vlads voice change from excitement once he started asking about Cube having songs ghostwritten lol
Funky Piano still a killer song. So is Color Blind.
Vlad: " So, basically Ice Cube is a bitch. Help me bring this to the light. "
😂😂😂😂
+Macadomusic yabish Vlad has some internal beef with Ice Cube. He should just address it.
Willie Maeket cube probably did call him a culture vulture khazar manipulator of our music and lives and Vlad takes offense to black men coming at him with a reality he doesn't like
NWA - PARENTAL DISCRETION IS ADVISE … Ice Cube killed it
king tee was the man! True hip hop heads know this guy. He was a west coast cat with a ny flow. He was the reason we knew about alkaholics and xhibit. MAD RESPECT
Vlad wants to arm wrestle Ice Cube.
Vlad Always On Ice Cubes Cubical
he mentions two dope names... Threat and Broadway.... I remember when Mad Kap came out too. The Liks, King Tee, Xzibit... man.. just real rap + having fun.
Funky Piano was the joint with Cube and Tee!
Yes sir! And M.C. Breeze had a flow that was outta this world!
yeah they rocked that joint.
funkajafuuzy *Breed
Tha Alkaholiks baby... just what the game need!!!!
+Yoel Dawit FACTS TASH WILL MERC ALL THESE FOOLS
+Mr. Sinister Easily! J-Ro too! Even ESwizzy!!
They are way under rated
Christopher Grant yep no doubt shout out to the liks
One of my favorite MC's!
And definitely my FAVORITE West Coast MC.
King T is a legend cuzzz
Bass is one of the greatest West Coast Rap songs ever. Still bump it till this day.
I don't understand Vlad's beef with Cube, but he's kinda being petty about it
😭
He's mad because ice cube hates jews...
+adrian8007 Vlad is Jewish so basically he got fucked with No Vaseline 😂😄😂
@@thegangsterbender2487 hahahahaha
@@ElijahKMcCoy I don't think he hates all Jews but he definitely hated Jerry Heller.
I'm glad he brought up Threat. He's a underrated West Coast MC.
we all know ice cube wrote most of his own stuff. but of course writers sometimes got involved. BUT not only do these new cats have ghost writers galore, they share bars like it's not problem. they all sound the same and i can't tell them apart! when cube comes on, you know its cube. ll cool J ice t king T x to the z..etc. you KNOW WHO IT IS WHEN THE VERSE STARTS. these new cats sound exactly alike. buncha fuckin carbon copies. so yeah, IT IS DIFFERENT!!
+mrhazel rappers now also steal songs like french montana!!!!
Vlad hates cube lol
+Vigilant Citizen fat cube a fake thug
+OnAComeUpChea fuck you
The Vigilant One .. f... cube he s fake & pussy
😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂
Thanks for shattering my childhood
King T's "Act a Fool" album cover is the hardest I've seen this side of the Mississippi TO THIS DAY..PERIOD. A straight walk up in Dickies and house shoes....fools don't be knowin'..
if I see one more fucking video where shade is being thrown at Cube, imma stop fucking with Vlad. He make it seem like Cube is and was the fakest dude ever. Rap is entertainment. All Cube is tell a story. It seems to a point where it's personal. I'm really thinking he don't Cube because he dissed Jews in No Vaseline.
+Dr pride chill white boy
+Gucci Mane La Flare chill black girl
POOPGOSPLAT chill wigger
Played like a piano still slappin right now today..
What abut today?
Ice Cube is a fucking legend, can't take anything away from that dude and you KNOW he writes his own shit. Sure someone might throw in a chorus here and there, simple thing, but nobody wrote a damn track for Cube. You'd be able to tell instantly that it wasn't Cube's style and something was off, if that was the case.
He wanted to steal cypress hills entire song ...
+da_ruler he tried to steal one of they're verses two
That's like saying the theft robbed the bank and some dumbass saying "yeah but he only took the hundreds and threw away the other bills so he's fine nothing to worry about here" I like ice cubes songs but he'll get his ass shot fuvking around with Hispanics 😂🔥🔥🔥✍🏼
DEL FASHO WROTE FOR CUBE But that was him tryna put his cousin on thou
West coast Legend right here! Crazy talented!
I think Vlad is trying to get Cube to come on his show so he tries to try him whenever he can. He's really trying to get his Birdman type interview from Cube. It's bordering on obsession.
+RinaPinxz22 It's called strategic business.
+RinaPinxz22 Real talk, then he talks shit about Cube not gang banging. Who the fuck is Vlad to check anyones street credibility. If Cube came and pulled a Birdman on him Vald would be scared shitless!.
King Tee was my shit!!!! Act a Fool is a Classic....him and DJ Pooh
Same here, I banged that cassette!
Vlad continues trying to throw shade on Ice Cube.
cube is in the writing credits to a few songs on del's first album though
Thank You! Everybody knows that there are writers and ghost writers in the music biz! It takes nothing away from the final product that we (the public) know and love!
+LanceVanceThug cause Cube produced some stuff in there and plus they're cousins.
Paybacks a mutha!
From- NWA Tha Liks- Xzibit - Lootpack- Madlib- Stretch Armstrong- krondon even collabs liknuts and many more all with a distinct original underground sound. This mans musical input is legendary.
King Tee, Scarface, MC Ren, MC Eiht, and Treach supergroup album would be EPIC!!!!
played like a piano...DOPE AZZ SONG!!!!
i remember tee from ant banks big thangs album, old school. dope song tho, he had a few good joints. west coaster all day.
W
+moodmuzik I miss that old Oaktown Ant Banks sound. Ima Player is still my favorite production from him.
+moodmuzik wow bro thats going back you musta been one of those boombox kids like me
+Willie Maeket That "The Big Bad Ass" album was a production and rap classic.
+moodmuzik "the shit couldn't get no harder...." west side ridin' with spice 1. great track
We need a Del interview Vlad!!
Vlad, your whole aim is to expose these rappers for views. That's a culture vulture!
DwaJay DwaJay yeah to a extent. He’s part of it can’t get to deep that’s why he annoying
Every ethnic group are cultural vultures
Color blind was dope on death certificate king T blessed that one..
I still pump King Tee bass and played like a piano MY SHIZNIT
yeah!
Damn cyrious is 🔥
Bass was that shit! King T the Great!
Still is the shit!
"King T writes the rhymes, that I say..." -Ice Cube
The Triflin Album is sleeper certified classic..i bumped that all summer
I can't front, I don't know too much of King Tee's music. I know 2 or 3 songs off the dome, but that's about it. My dad was a fan. Now, I do know Daddy's (Ice Cube) music though. People give his first, second and third albums a lot of credit, but _Lethal Injection_ thumps too. Oooh and I loved Tha Alkaholics. Nothing beats they first, second and third albums. I remember when they first came out and people were kinda lukewarm, but not I. I was a fan! Good interview, fellas.
Vlad has a vendetta against Ice Cube. He has spent the last year asking anyone affiliated with N.W.A questions about Cube more than anyone and it's always about Cube's background,Cube not having a prison record etc...... Ut must have REALLY hurt him to get turned down for an interview or something for Vlad to still have all these questions about him. We all catch the sneak dissing 🤔
Dang vlad still trying to destroy ice cube LoL
How's that homie
Vlad hates Ice Cube, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Birdman, Kanye West, loves Slim Jesus
+Breon M That's impossible, no one can hate Nassir Jones, no one !!! That's forbidden
+harrythebarry Ok, i'm sorry madame, are you okay now? Did I go wrong when I mentioned your princess Minaj?
+Charlie Doom hes not garbage...very overrated tho
+Kingdrick Lamar Speaks volumes on his taste.... whack AF
Kingdrick Lamar yea but he did say nas picks the worst beats, even if ge did, you cant say that to a god mc
Maybe he wrote a hook or something but i really doubt somebody wrote a verse for the Don Mega...
+TheKillahAkASuperP Yea Cube said in interviews he's okay with people writing hooks.
T just said Del wrote Gangsta Fairytales...Del is Cube cousin...
@@falloutman60 - Like when Cypress Hill "wrote" the hook to 'Friday'.
Is that the hook where cypress just changed the word hand for set. Sugarhill gang called they want a writers credit b real.
Ready for some more of these classic west coast artist interviews like you were posting.
Mrr Bass, happy to see King Tee 💞
vlad is funny he always trying to find something against cube smh
Let's go dippin dippin in da streets! Ayyyye!!
del wrote turn off the radio, cube wrote gangstas fairytale for eazy
Tha Triflin Album was slept on.
im young but that get played like a piano by king tee still the shit, that beat so smooth and sick at the same time
Glad u brought out tha alkaholiks love them boys got all their albums a few T-shirts and the logo is popping.. dope 🎩 king T
everybody talking trash about Vlad but they still watching all his videos.
I remember King Tee use to be at my apartments on Keystone near the Overland Cafe, he would visit my next door neighbor. That neighbor was Xzibit who stayed right next door with his Babymama. I didn’t even know my neighbor rapped by I sure in hell knew who King Tee was. He’s a true LA legend. “Bass” was anthem amongst my crew. Growing up in LA during that time was fun. I have since moved, got married and raising my kids in N Cali. But boy do I miss LA.
Vlad isn't "hating" on Cube. He always uses titles as "click bait". He's honestly a fan of King and his group. Stop it✋
Cube wrote but at some point he had Del The Funke Homosapien and members of Souls of Mischief and others penning for him at times. If you want to know about Ice Cube's pen today, just listen to his albums in the early 2000-2010's. It will say a lot about his writing.
Guess you were there and witnessed it all..
@@nicovanderdrift5508There’s an interview with Sir Jinx who says Del the funky homosapien assisted in writing some songs with Cube
@@MarkWhippy I know, and Del said in an interview he was there and assisted him. Not that Cube needed it, but he was just there.. and I know Del and threat helped Cube out with some penning
Much luv and infinite respect for King Tee
Tru Gansta
Vlad gotta man crush on Cube. God damn.
Death Certificate is the best rap album of all time.
King Tee = Fuckin Legend
Don’t Matter, When you can Write for Yourself
King Tee wasn't no joke!
"Did Slim Jesus write lines for Ice Cube?"
TheTman9898 yes
The important message here to me is how they exchanged equipment and helped each other to gain success. Now people have fits when you ask for some gum🤦🏾♂️
Bass was a great song.. The remix was dope too.
vlad about to drop a diss track aimed at ice cube lol
I hope you got more of King Tee Vlad
Cube wrote eazys verses on gangsta gangsta, and dopeman.
Cube wrote eazy duz it, and no more questions
Cube wrote express yourself for dre
king tee was one of biggies favorite rappers that's why they sound similar on certain songs
King Tee.
The. Legend.
Hahaha! I refuse to believe that Vube had ghostwriters when he in fact was one of Eazy-E's ghostwriters along with MC Ren.
Damn I remember threat! He was dope, I thought he and Kam complemented each others style a lot. And their lyrics! Man...
aye King Tee, my pops said he was with u in a studio session in like 1992. he was signed to Black Orchid records. he passed away already but he said it was u and some other niggas and my old basketball coach Marcus Nash. he said everyone was trying to get you to flow but u got toooo drunk and didnt wanna fumble. thats wassup tho hopefully i can interview u if u remember the nigga. his name was P-Nut aka OG Nutt. whiteboy from NC. tryna show the world his talents.
Vlad,
INTERVIEW DEADLY THREAT.
man I remember back in high school when the alkoholiks and xzibit dropped it was sick, I miss that shit
Funny on my cd it says gangsters fairytale wrote by Cube and Eric Sadler
King Tee one of my favorite rappers even though he’s not a lyrical miracle but he literally inspired one of the greatest rappers in hip hop history the notorious b.i.g big literally said king tee influenced him and it’s one of his favorite rappers of all time. Trifflin album is his best project
you was it this dude who had the orange lowrider with the orange and white pinstripe in the background on his album cover ? tht was the only reason I bought tht album and it turned out fires 🔥🔥
Vlad LOVE trying to discredit Ice Cube with every interview with a veteran West Coast artist. What did Cube did to Vlad?!
“Long live the Alkaholiks call it what you call it”
gangsta fairytale 1 & 2 was some creative azz barz. I didn't know del wrote that 4 cube.
When it comes to ghostwriters, there is a difference between Cube and someone like Drake. Cube made a name for himself and earned his respect for chit he wrote not chit someone else wrote. Drake on the other hand cane into the gane with ghostwriters, completely different scenarios. That's why people make an issues about Drake and his and not about Cube.
05:15 here we go again
