We'd get several claims a year from guys who had gotten on a bike for the first time in decades and promptly launched themselves over the handlebars exactly the same say this guy did. What happens when you don't realize that when you only clamp down hard on your front brake, the rest of your bike (plus you) tries to keep going.
Even if he did…. At 19 mph the car behind him should have been able to stop in time if they were not tailgating. It’s not legal to tailgate no matter how slow the car in front is going.
@@dramalama10 I agree with you about tailgating. BUT that does NOT justify his lie ;) he consciously and intentionally pressed the brakes. In my view, he CONSCIOUSLY AND INTENTIONALLY WANTED to provoke an accident.....
#17 was a bit much; it's a yield sign, not a merge sign. Cars can't merge into traffic unless it's clear. Oncoming traffic isn't obligated to move out of the way so you can merge, especially when you have the yield. I always tell impatient drivers, "Are you going to pay for my car if someone hits me because you were in such a rush?"
Even if there is a lane to turn into (as cammer claimed), so many incidents like this can be due to unfamiliarity with that chunk of road, usually someone from "out of town".

@YardworkWithJohn I'm not saying he couldn't have, but he had no duty to do so which is what matters for assigning fault. Occasionally an insurance company will assign partial responsibility for not trying hard enough to avoid an accident, but generally in a no-injury accident it's just going to go against the driver who broke the law.
Seemed like speed up and didn't want to let the other driver in. If cammer just backed off the whole situation could have been avoided. I doubt that if the insurance sawthe video because both parties were at fault.
@@andrewfidel2220 Unless there was a tragedy, that is (which they can't show here for us to learn from & teach the importance of avoiding preventable wrecks, let alone at highway speeds on an elevated bridge in dense traffic surrounded by solid barriers).
It's also why you don't intentionally drive below the speed limit, brake check someone and then claim you were trying to turn left even though that would have been cutting across a double yellow prior to the center turn lane, or turning left from the travel lane without using the center turn lane. Citations for everyone there, but brake checking is an automatic reckless in this state.
#2 I drive this stretch all the time. The combo of winding slow back roads entering from a dead stop into the winding very fast HWY 9, leads to scary situations like this all the time. Add to that the poor weather, low light/visibility, speeding, hills which can obscure headlights until theyre right behind you, no split lane medians, etc. Then you have all the low IQs who panicked when they have to negotiate a roundabout. Im surprised more people dont die on this highway.
I dont get why so many of these cammers REFUSE to just brake when someone cuts them off, or decide to honk at them for 20 minutes, you're just as much of an asshole as the person who cut you off is, and why would you want to get into an accident? 1) your taught not to swerve as any damage done to property, your vehicle, another vehicle is your fault. Someone could have been in the cammers blind spot, saw the accident and stopped and that is why we didn’t see anyone go by in the right lane. 2) the cammer had no reason to believe the truck was going to swerve into them. 3) you can also see by watching the edges of the clip the cammer did try to slow down to the best of their ability. The crash would have been worse had they never touched their brakes. 4) what about the trucks responsibilities of the “last doctrine” knowing their actions will cause an accident 😂how do you know the truck driver wasn’t looking for a payday?

Yep, because it's that easy to swerve a 35,000 to 80,000 pound vehicle (depending on load) out of the way without it jack-knifing or rolling over. I mean an 18-wheeler truck must handle the same as a 2-door sedan (eye roll).

Exactly. Merge signs do not give you the right of way. Cammer was way off on this one
And when some asshole 2 cars back starts honking their horn, it just adds to the tension, and confusion.
The merge lane is protected by a solid white line.

@@andrewfidel2220 It was a lane merge, two lanes turning into one. And the cam car easily could have gotten off the gas to avoid an accident.

#7 and that’s why you don’t tailgate especially if they’re turning, other driver is the dumbass 🤦
