Those dry apples are such a good snack, very good idea. I was wondering where the apple trees were in the middle of the bamboos hahaha but then as I continued to watch I saw you were collecting the material to dry your apples! Loved to see your walk through the "forest" lol

I wish we had wild bamboo in northern east USA. I garden, it would be wonderful to have free long lasting trellis and garden stake materials! I have a multi level tiered hanging net bag which zippers closed. I'll try drying apples in that. I feed the wild squirrels in my yard, so if I hang out apples to dry unprotected the little squirrels will think it's a snack for them 🤣.

Oh yes, try that. Haha, don't let the squirrels get to them 🤣

Should they not be washed afterward... what about the bugs that have landed on them and taken a poop?

At 42 degrees there are no bugs, plus remember what doesn't kill you makes you stronger! I grew up listening to my mom saying that. Hahaha

An occasional bug in food isn't going to hurt me. When gardening and growing my food bugs can occasionally be on it especially because I don't use any harmful toxic pesticides. Insects such as ants, crickets, grasshoppers, and meal worms are safe and edible for humans, although I try to avoid eating bugs because I don't want to harm them. When I harvest herbs, berries, etc. from my garden I rarely ever wash them. I only wash my fruit and vegetables if rain has splashed garden soil up onto them, I don't want the texture of gritty soil on my food.
