Coimbatore to Madurai journey via Palani || Diesel racer through TN Countryside! || Indian Railways

- Update: Now this train runs as single service 16721/22 Coimbatore Madurai Coimbatore Intercity Express
Presenting another ALCo treat to viewers, in the form of the now becoming rare Erode DLS WDM3D. This train operates as two parts, 1) from CBE to Palani as train no. 06463 and 2) from Palani to MDU as train no. 06479. As the route is not electrified from Pollachi to Dindigul, end to end diesel locomotive pulls the train. This route is the shortest to Madurai from Coimbatore and is highly under utilised. The train has a fully unreserved composition and runs daily with the fare from CBE to MDU being Rs. 90. Glimpses of the Western ghats can be seen enroute. Enjoy the ride!

Daily service departs CBE 2 pm, reaches Palani 4:30 pm, departs Palani at 4:45 and reaches Madurai 7:40 pm. Return service departs Madurai 07:20 AM, reaches Palani 10:10 AM, departs Palani at 10:30 AM and reaches CBE at 01:15 PM. Thanks for watching 😊

very valuabe info. Those days this train ran as a metre guage between coimbatore and rameswaram. Now this train runs as a passenger. Very informative and well shot video.very cheap trainfare. The train used to have a first class coach and i loved to travel in this sector. Would take off @ madurai by 10.30 and reach coimbatore by 4.40 am. Thank you. It was a metre guage train named as Rameswaram Coimbatore express.

There are 2 train numbers for #Coimbatore_Palani_Madurai which is just 232.94Km, so the patronage of this train is very poor as 2 Train number is confusing and difficulty in getting tickets. So we request railway ministry to run it as a single train from #Mettupalayam-Coimbatore_Palani_Madurai 268.45Km , Even in railway search Coimbatore to Madurai search example this train is not reflecting.56623 & 56609. Kindly keep Palakkad division out decision as they are diverting all the train to Kerala and sabotaging the needs of Tamilnadu, Only Salem & Madurai division

Good view,nice focus of video coverage but Pollachi to Dindigul line track is very old it seems ¬ fully electrification done.Actual route to covai from mdu is via palani, Pollachi only.long back there were 3trains from mdu to covai regularly.this is short cut route to covai from mdu.due to lack of trains public takes via karur erode from Dindigul.Centre may do needful to southern people.thanks.

19:34- I don't think jeyam movie was filmed here. It was different railway stn with pushpattut name. Btw it was very beautiful video. I too travelled in same train but it was from mdu to cbe. It was very shaky when the train travelled in max speed.
