    You can tell this music means something to the performers by how they play. Really very enjoyable.

    The master captured the unpoluted natural sound in his Kayakeum, I mean not poluted by technology. Utterly beautiful!!!

    ancient korean music score is very hard to be recorded. Therefore, the player have to throughly read thru the scores, understands and imagine what the music is trying to convey in order to properly play the music. therefore each player plays the music a bit differently. most ancient score records the playing, not the melodies and it differs from master to master, instrument to instrument. Although nowadays most players are using translated version in western musical notation.

    Just now I read the wikipedia link to learn that Hwang Byung-Ki died two days ago. R.I.P.
    He was obviously big in the gayageum world, as much of the gayageum music I have come across on youtube seems to be his compositions.
    What is the name of this piece in English, please?

    It seems Korean traditional music is like hard rock or heavy metal in comparison to Japanese and Chinese music witch in comparison sounds like pop or lite music. It just sounds more heavier. Perhaps I like it so much bc it’s like hard progressive rock

    そうそう!本当!でも楽器の音階自体は
    琉球や明宋代以降の中国のと、ほぼ同じなん
    です!だっから琉球音楽を韓国楽器で弾くの容易。
    リズムも本当に面白い!!音のはじき方とか
    抜き具合が‥ 独特ですよね〜!

    Isnt Sanjo mostly improvisation?

    • @Gichanasa
      @Gichanasa 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Indeed the meaning of Sanjo is “scattered melody,” and the instrument & methodology are quite conducive and fertile to improvisation similar to the blues music of the West, Sanjo pieces are noted, taught and learned note for note, perfected over many years, down to even following the styles and nuances of the particular teacher whom the pupil is studying under(there are about half a dozen such master teacher branch categories in South Korea, and several in North Korea), very much like how classical pieces of the West are learned and performed according to the score. Good question and definitely an interesting aspect to research further.

    님 일제시대가 아니구요 ㅋ 김창조(1865년~1920년)씨에 의해 시작되었구요. 일제시대 훨씬 전입니다. 일제시대는 1910년 이후인건 아시죠??
    가야국 우륵이 신라로 가져가 번성케했구요.
    * 신라의 가야고는 일본에 전해져서, 일본에서는 이것을 "신라금" 이라 합니다

    가야금 산조는 산조가야금이 탄생한 후 생겨난 음악, 산조가야금은 일제시대에 만들어진 가야금, 자세히 보고 싶으면 검색 사이트에서 " 일제시대 가야금 " 검색하면 많은 자료를 볼 수 있음.
