So every piece he touches grows, and obviously his opponents pieces are always smaller because he doesn't pick them up

I checked the chess engine at the same position just to see if I wasn't missing anything. It gave black mate in #14 or something and at depth 35 was -29.4. the actual reason some pieces are bigger than other is because those pieces are left over from the previous game, you can see when he checkmates or gets checkmated, the remaining pieces are bigger in the next game. 22:18 here you can see, in the last game there was only a black and white king with a white pawn, now the next game, the h pawn and both kings are bigger than usual, you can also go around other games to see it. Now why does it happen, I have no idea.

The pieces really are different sizes. If you look at the bottom of the board squares, you can notice extra space where the smaller pieces are compared to their bigger counterparts. What a weird way to make a game. Must be one hell of a bug.

Black's c bishop is bigger then the f one, queen and king are bigger. It's just so obvious. You can see the padding beneath some pieces is just way less because they are bigger and it has nothing to do with what piece is moved or even touched. I'd say it's pretty random

But I think also the distance from the bottom part of the piece to the bottom part of the square makes up the difference.
