    Tried this with cat's eye polish and blooming gel and got a similar effect, but still went for the Social Claws pigments, which look so much brighter! Thank you for this demo!

    Beautiful I almost bought these last time I was on social claws website but then I told myself off and said no Helen you have about 60 pigments you can't justify buying any more. But now now I NEED this pigment. Beautiful design. Xxx

      You really can't have too many pigments :D.

      Helen Langford you can’t have too many pigments,you always can use them up in so many areas of crafts and arts,mix them in all kinds of paints,varnishes,polishes.Create own gels,acrylics.Use them as embossing powders,even use them instead of stamping polish 😉 Girl,pigments are on top of the game if you start to play around with them as crazy 😜

      @@ligaskirbauska8652 for stamping do you put the pigments over a white polish or do you mix little amounts of polish and pigment please.. I'm just looking for some different ideas for using pigments on my nails.. I'm open to try anything though I am a just a diy.. but I do have regular and gel polish so I would love any ideas ☺️.. please and thank you 💞

      @@jenpierce2385 when stamping with pigment I do like that,stamp with black,white or any stamping gel,leave all on silicone stamp,don’t take off,stamp-transfer to finger,just put in whole stamper right into UV lamp 15-20 sec,gel will dry,leaving you bit sticky stamp like and you can just apply pigment with tiny brush,or just rub fast in with finger any pigments,tiny glitter,metallic,holographic or just basic pastel dusted on also can work,😉,dry it a bit more20-30-50 sec,can take silicone pad-stamp pillow out handle,if it’s clear can turn around it,dry it us
      IDE down,from within for so to say and then when it’s dry just peel it off stamping pad,you’ll have sort of stamped sticker,you can make ahead let’s say set for some client,for special occasion..or you can stamp (without stamping in clients nail)again dry on stamper in lamp,rub in pigments directly there(very comfy you won’t get pigments all over clients fingers,fast can add multiple stamped layers and won’t add one pigment on rest of nail art,it’s fast and effective way of adding stamping without stamping directly on clients nails,fingers 😉) then take off stamping and it’s like nail sticker,you can chop it up if it’s big 😉,You can even work it further,colour stamped paintings,mandalas (love to colour mandalas ahead,chill down and something useful comes out,love to add those mandalas in resin earrings,when made with clear colour gels it becomes like church window,with different nail gels and personalise things ahead of clients,something to do if it’s quite day,some client didn’t came to appointment,to don’t lose time,use it up wisely 😉 you can use these nail art ,,stamps,, not just on nails,but work them into resin arts,add to accessories,create resin art accessories,use nail art techniques in all those crafts.Really.Im by Idea VIP nail artist with over 20 years experience,in developing products for brands,nail art trainings,competitions and so on things behind back,more than anything I love to experiment and trust me the are million of ways of doing things,so experiment,experiment,experiment,worst that can happen is something don’t works as expected and then ask,why it didn’t,How it could,maybe change something,timing of drying gel in lamp,other gel,resin maybe works better and so on,You can stamp for techniques like this also not just with special colour stamping gel,but pretty much any UV RESIN(you can add colour or pigment to and create own gels 😉) you can rub in stamping not just pigments,but many glitters,love to press foils in them,especially those like,,gasoline foils,,transparent but rainbow,holographic designs,if those are done on clear gel then it’s like having holographic drawing,almost invisible or visible at certain angles designs,if you make basic cat eye gel in client and add stamped stickers like that you add like extra dimensions,you can make stamp with magnetic gel polish too and again if you make ahead of time slides like that,client can chose and you save time,while working on client and still client gets let’s say in 1-2 h manicure 3-4 hours manicure,you’re happy and client happy,less sitting time,but still super effective...well,sorry if I rumble and repeat some part,my husband interrupted me couple times and I just wanted to make shore I put idea across to understand well,sorry English is not my first language so it is what it is,if you got any questions,don’t hesitate to ask,I’ll try to clean up,explain better

    I love this look!!! One question, I noticed you used gelish topcoat to mix with the pigments and then Akzentz to drop it into...would you recommend using 2 different topcoats for this or is there a reason why you do it this way??? Thank you :)

    • @tenlittlecanvases
      @tenlittlecanvases  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I liked the way the mixed pigment (with Gelish) spread in the Akzentz...I experimented dropping into the Luxa top which is slightly thicker than Akzentz but I didn't like how slowly the pigment spread...just a personal preference. I've not has issues 2 different tops...both cure in 30 sec in an LED. You may need to experiment with your own topcoats to see how they flow.

    I just got mine today. I definitely will have to play some to get it right. My Bliss is very dark teal in the jar. Yours looks quite purple where mine is definitely teal and it didn't show up much on the black nail. Any thoughts?

    • @tenlittlecanvases
      @tenlittlecanvases  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Keep in mind these are 'interference' duo chrome powders, meaning that the way your light source hits it will affect what colors you'll see...try changing light conditions...for instance, under direct sunlight or LED light the pigment is quite sparkly and tends to show the magenta and purple shift....under indirect LED or diffused LED like in my photos and videos (I film and photograph in a light tent to reduce glare), that's when it shifts all the colors, teal, purple, magenta, bronze, gold, green.

    • @saundraburgess692
      @saundraburgess692 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      So when you take it out of the indirect LED lighting, do you still see all the tones or does it go back to a solid color per say?

    So I tried this with regular pigment and it didn't work....is there a trick?

    • @tenlittlecanvases
      @tenlittlecanvases  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Regular pigments as in not multi-chrome magnetic?
      The thinner the clear gel you place your pigment dots into the better, you'll get a better spread...consider using a 'blooming gel', Mia Secret is a fave of mine. Don't mix pigment too thick, this will inhibit spreading and it can cause wrinkling after curing.

  • @elizabethwhite1014
    @elizabethwhite1014 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm working on re-creating that first design as I type this.... Harder than it looks! I think I had too much pigment and I didn't get spread, it looked more like Hershey's kisses. Going thinner and thinner and I am finally getting a good spread. One nice thing about making mistakes - if you don't like the design on the popstick, just wipe with alcohol and try again. :-)

    • @saundraburgess692
      @saundraburgess692 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've been trying and not getting the spread or the color shift. When you went thinner, did you also get the shift like the video?

    • @elizabethwhite1014
      @elizabethwhite1014 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Saundra - I finally did get some spread but I never gained any sense of control over the shape of the (for lack of a better term) droplets. I tried different size dotting tools and detail brushes, and I made adjustments to the speed which I put down the droplets - but I never was able to get those different shapes. I got decent spread but by that time the mixture was so thin there was very little color saturation and I only got round blobs. I spent several hours trying, ran through 3 dozen pop sticks but I was never able to get anything that looked close. The droplets never took on any shape no matter how I tried to drag them into a teardrop or use the dry vs. wet edge of the topcoat to keep them corralled into square-ish blocks. I even tried using different top coats on the nail (tried 4 or 5) from the one I used to create my pigment droplets. Bottom line - when I had strong enough pigmentation in the mix, it kept a "Hershey's Kiss" shape and always had a tiny air bubble at the top where I pulled the dotting tool or detail brush away and never achieved any shape but round and zero spread. By the time I was thinned up enough to get spread, I was never able to control the drops and keep them from combining, I did not have good color saturation. I'm calling this one of my rare failed experiments.

      Thank you. I haven't had much success either

    • @jesamacher7188

      I had good success recreating this when I used the exact same products and ratios Kim uses. If you don't have the exact same products, you get a different effect. I tried using Madam Glam No Wipe Top Coat and it tends to spread the dots much slower. Still beautiful, but different. I did Kim's ratio of top coat to pigment and it worked! If you don't have the exact products, keep in mind that Kim is mixing the pigment with a TC with an inhibition layer and dropping that into a TC without an inhibition layer. Just some observations that I have found helpful in gaining success! I hope you have had some success, because this is so beautiful in person!

  • @MelissaGemini
    @MelissaGemini 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    That is very beautiful.

  • @brandicontreras1825
    @brandicontreras1825 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    Could you get that same spreading out (it kinda reminds me of when you drop regular polish in water for marbleing) effect with other pigment mixtures like say with the pearlex or the cnd ones or is that just for those specific magnetic ones?

    • @tenlittlecanvases
      @tenlittlecanvases  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, other pigments should work. The amount of spread will depend on: 1. how thick you mix your pigment and 2. what wet layer you place the pigment mix in, like a clear top coat or gel color coat. You may have to experiment to get your best combination for the best spread. Hope that makes sense 😆.
