When the Soviets were pulling out of Afghanistan, they took inventory and discovered an entire warehouse full of items that their army had been needing for years. The guy in charge of the warehouse had been sent home and they never found a replacement so everything just sat there until the Americans arrived.
That was a big embarassment for the Kremlin, but the leadership changed and the citizens were never told about that (inventory being left there); I do wonder what they were told about the country not being represented at the Olympic Games in 1980 from which they were excluded.

In the Marines, I spent a lot of time in the depths of Iraq. We would go weeks without a shower. It was a normal thing. I feel a little more camaraderie towards her, knowing she was grungy along with us.

It is a measure of difference rather than of right or wrong. Women comedians speak on very different topics than men. This is demonstrated by the fact that male and female comedians have vastly different audiences. This can be widely applied to which comedians appeal to different age groups and even nationalities. This response is not intended to start a typical comment section debate; I honestly do not have time for that. I am not sure why an opinion would elicit such a strong reaction. @mark...it was the Sobiets who invaded Afghanistan in '79 but I don't know what if anything they left behind. The 1980 Olympic games excluded the USSR for their police action.
