I love Magnum TA as a wrestler when I was a kid. He was my favorite to pull for I was so heartbroken when the accident happened. Just to watch this video and find out what kind of man he really is makes me feel so good about pulling for him as a child. I'm 47 years old now and I still love that guy. Considering everything he's been through and the attitude that he chose to have got him to where he is today. He's an incredible man and incredible human being. I'm still one of his biggest fans to this day.

I'll never forget seeing JJ talking with Magnum, crying about how sorry he was and how much it killed him that he had to hit Magnum in a match between Tully and Dusty. What a fight that was. I was also in tears as a kid watching that one.
I prayed for Magnum so many times hoping he could wrestle again some day.

Hannibal, you are the best interviewer I've seen. Your questions are concise and focused on helping the interviewee tell their story. AND, you don't trying to upstage, or suck the oxigen out of the room. Well done. At minute 47 Magnum nails it. I have not watch wrestling since the mid 80s. It was completely different back then.

Magnum TA was "THE MF MAN"! He was on track to be that superstar. You just wanted good people like him to have his day in the sun. It makes you curse at Fate for dealing such a cruel hand to Magnum TA. But, it's good to see him in good spirits, knowing what he overcame to be alive and breathing.

And I'll be god damned we were broke in by the same crowd and I had no clue, Matt Bourne and a couple guys from the Sawyer family in Portland at the Aladin theater...Crazy

OMG I hated those Anderson brothers. I found out they weren't even real brothers years later but they sure fool me as a lil kid. Magnum was my favorite wrestler. My whole family watched wrestling on the weekends. It was our bonding thing. My mom hated the heels. She use to scream at them thru the TV like they could hear her.... like she wanted them to tag her in to join in the fight.lol Omg I miss those days. I'm glad Magnum is doing well. He will always be my favorite wrestler ❤ Today's wrestling sucks ass. SORRY BUT IT JUST DOES.

I am happy to watch Magnum TA prior to his accident.....I just started watching NWA in the summer of 1986.His rivalry with Nikita Koloa was interesting to watch. If Magnum did not have that accident, there would have been a rivalry with Ric Flair versus Magnum TA. Who knows,Magnum TA would have been a babyface in the WWF. I remembered having a Magnum TA poster on my wall as an adolescent living in Brooklyn New York.........To be a Magnum TA fan from Brooklyn, that is an indication I was and still is a huge wrestling fan. In my time growing up in Brooklyn New York, the promotions that dominated the New York ,New Jersey and Connecticut area was WWF/WWE,AWA and ECW. I love you Magnum TA and stay strong through this uncertain times.

Since you uploaded the "Gentleman's Choice" documentary on Gentleman Chris Adams, which I bought on DVD before you uploaded it, I would be interested in obtaining Magnum T.A.'s documentary which was available on High Spots called I Never Quit. I'm not sure if it is still avaiable for sale there or some other vendor. I do have all 5 volumes of Barry Owen's Portland Wrestling series, which includes a match between Magnum and Ric Flair when he was wrestling in Don Owen's Pacific Northwest Wrestling territory. I'm not sure if it was in Volume 1, which I think it was or Volume 2. I have only watched the first two volumes. I will have to write a review of each volume eventually on Amazon.

@Paul Jackson I don't know about Hogan. His longevity as a top draw is up there with Bruno and Lou Thesz. Austin's popularity and that of The Rock's was greater at their peak in absolute numbers, but neither had the longevity at the top of the three wrestlers I mentioned in terms of drawing power. Warrior had some appeal, but he couldn't have been that great, since he dropped the WWE title less than a year into his reign. Dusty had popularity but not on the scale of Hogan, and the same with Sting.

Magnum Ta was my absolute favorite wrestler,as a 10 year old kid . I think it was Tnt wrestling or Nwa it was right before WCW. It was 1986 or something. My man Magnum, another one of those bad cats i unfortunately missed when we moved to Calif. from Houston,as it took me away from my second home with Paul Boesch and the Coliseum.Didn't stop me from getting hooked on this guy on WTBS,both for that no-nonsense way he carried himself in and out the ring, that I-Quit with Tully at Starrcade '85 was no joke and still remains my all-time favorite even my lil bits are blown away as much as i was all those years ago. What could've been had his career not got cut short, but a run as the NWA champ would've been memorable.Stay in good health,my friend

@@rosario508 The Wrestler (1974) is pretty as close to anything about a documentary on the industry. Bloodstained Memoirs is also good, so is Beyond The Mat, which goes beyond the storylines. The Mickey Rourke version of The Wrestler (2008) is good, but in terms of movies about the history of the industry, other films might fit what you're looking for better. I Like To Hurt People and Grunt The Wrestling Movie might be of interest as well. There are other documentaries like 350 Days which are also good. July 21st, 1985 at the Charlotte Coliseum was a great night! Tully Blanchard in a grueling, exhausting effort, got a pick-me-up, a second wind, if you will. A female security guard came down to ringside where Tully was laying and gave him a little kiss, some inspiration, if you will. Tully then got up on his feet, swung his right, connected, and knocked out "Johnny Glass Jaw" Magnum T.A. with one punch and pinned him in the middle of the ring 1-2-3 to become the new NWA United States Heavyweight Champion! Poor Ol' Maggie May was undefeated no longer. That was a night I'll never forget.

    • @ptothej100

I thought it was strong, but it put a lot of pressure on him to pull it off. That's the problem with having a finish that requires momentum from the opponent, perfect timing and controlled strength every time. Opponents come in all sizes and shapes. Magnum's belly to belly on Kamala was very impressive, tho.
