Thank you for watching, I am Japanese Potter Shuji Codama.
In today's video, I'll show you how the work Airput takes shape.
Air puts are hollow so that they have air in them.
It is made by combining two plates.
Please take a look at the moment when two plates become one!

BTW, what is that dark grey clay that Japanese potters always seem to use?
粘土は鉄分の少ない粘土です。
私は信楽の粘土を使っています^_^
So cool! 😍
thank you😊🙏
Awesome design Shuji. Is it possible to visit your studio in Japan?
thank you. Yes, if you let me know the date in advance, you can come.
How was it glazed and do you worry about the glaze inside running out during firing?
The inside is not glazed. I put the glaze in a bucket and let it sink.
What is the purpose or function of this style bowl? Do you need to poke an air hole for venting during firing?
It offers a wide range of possibilities for serving food. There is a hole in the bottom to release the pressure.
그릇의 형태가 아름답습니다
좋은 영상 감사합니다
감사합니다. 코멘트를 주셔서 기쁩니다.
Nice! Do you put a hole in the bottom or somewhere to let the pressure out as it shrinks?
yes! It has a very, very small hole in the bottom.thank you
