The Chinese called Hmong people Miao because that's how they pronounced it. I'm Hmong in the US. That city is where a large majority of Hmong people settled during the migration away from the war thousands of years ago. I believe the Hmong people were even further northeast because folklore songs mentioned camel... the only place near China that have camels originally is the northeastern side. I'd love to visit that city one day to trace my heritage back. Thanks so much for the video.
It is terrifying to have a mind influenced by Western liberalism, to the extent of perceiving minority villages becoming tourist destinations as painful. The local minorities can earn a decent income by staying at home. Do you know that this is the kind of lifestyle that most Chinese people envy? While the traditional culture and way of life of the minority groups are beautiful, they also desire to live in modernized environments with air conditioning, cinemas, high-speed trains, airplanes, cars, and better healthcare and education facilities.
