Before becoming a pro, Oil King used to be a KOF player and only switched to USF4 later. 2. Ugang is a 17-year-old SF5 player from Taiwan. 3. Micky is a 16-year-old player from Hong Kong.

As a casual player, I like this format of following a single player through a tournament and becoming more familiar with their style, particularly with an expert to point out that kind of stuff.
I think it's funny that, like you mention, they seemed scared of making Terry too good based on his toolset, but then they were also like "Mm, Bipson..."

@@DANCERcowi don’t think the argument for costume is correct i mean modders drop a lot of costumes and they’re really detailed and cool. I just feel like Capcom focuses more on the costume avatar bc i makes more money i suppose?

But this feels like the kind of thing they'd want to promote on the main channel(s), but don't for whatever reason.
Always happy to see Terry in action. If anything else, he's really fun both to play and watch! On that subject: is the Granblue Rising Beatrix stuff coming to TH-cam? I love watching you learn characters in that game, and I think she's got that "Terry" watchability factor as well.
Terry got so many bad matchups its insane, they should make his SHP plus and buff his anti zoning game (his crack shoot is trash, cammy and chun has similar shit and are 1000% better)
I am a player that doesn't know much about frame data, and typically judge characters off vibes. Just being honest. I play a ton of Terry, and he's really fun, but even from my perspective I think buffing Terry would be a really delicate tightrope. It is insane that he can take a player from mid screen to the corner with a simple TC. I think people underestimate how useful it is that he can choose to switch sides, with the lane switch move, out of the corner with one punish and with cheap resources for very little risk. However as a vibes player, even I never ever use his standing heavy. It's DOOKIE. I feel like capcom should tune him just a tiny bit, like maybe his medium punch like Sajam says. But I don't think this character would be very fun to fight if he was Rashid or Akuma tier. I think if capcom finds a way to balance him where he sits around the same place as Ryu, he would be just right.
So I got terry to master about a week after his release, and I will say that his buttons are somewhat underwhelming. His heavy punch is pretty stubby and awful, and getting massive fame requires pretty niche combos or massive punishes. His lane switch attack is very niche as well, but he does have some solid target combos and his crouching medium kick has great range. Character definitely isn’t awful, but the only thing really keeping him afloat is that he has access to a multitude of tools like a DP and OD reversal.

Also go research his frame data it will help inform a lot I am MR 1470 on Terry and i compete on him. I don't really think he is has anything bad, his HP is absolutely fine and leads to some of the highest damage off DR punish counters. It's just he has nothing cheap and easy to just throw out. I.e Ken / Akuma HP.
I gotta give props to people who read Chinese because my eyes are not sharp enough to even begin to see what to type into a Chinese Google Translate. It's like they gave 100 pixels for the characters and like only 7 are blank. It's even worse in Pokémon when I got Chinese Trades because it's the exact same problem on a smaller screen.
i like a very Aggressive Terry play style. . Terry is a Rush Down character. you get the best outta Terry when you play him very Aggressive. do not et your foes do anything. rush them down. like Fatal Fury / KOF .
