    Found your channel as I’ve been going down a rabbit hole of YT vids in reference to gov contracting. Everyone talks about contracting as pertains to your expertise or your business. I wanted to get in specifically to sub out the contract and handle the admin and invoices. This video opened my eyes to lodging! This is exactly what I did when I worked for Air Force Lodging. I also learned so much about the vernacular on the webpages. I’m a PM now for a gov contract but I work for a company and never submitted proposals. Thank you for posting these vids I’m currently binging your vids🙏🏾

    Thank you for sharing this info. Question... will I need funds reserved for the rooms before the govt pays?

    • @GovKidMethod
      @GovKidMethod  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      They will put a card on file when the reservation is made.

      @BrittanyWalser 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      When you say "They" do you mean the government will put a card on file with the hotel. OR will we "Prime" submit an invoice to the govt once the reservation is confirmed for payment? Thanks!

    Hi Derek!Great content, actually all your videos are so full of great information, thanks! I was looking at a lodging contract and the scope was asking for proof of funds, is that normal in a scope for lodging? I’m new to contracting but I’m wondering why that is needed. Thanks!

    • @GovKidMethod
      @GovKidMethod  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey thanks! That is not something that we see a lot of on these "small" contracts. Since every bid is different, I don't think it would be a far stretch to guess that their particular contracting office may have been burnt in the past so now they are requiring to verify proof of funds. Not something you should be seeing a lot of thankfully.

    I am a professional septic tank cleaner. I have two trucks. I know for a fact all of these state and federal parks need outhouses pumped out . I am willing to do the work. Do you ever help get contracts as a business in exchange for a fee?

    Hi Derek! This is great information. I'm interested in providing hotel lodging for the military and would like to know if you offer say a one on one training for lodging ONLY. If so, can we set up one on one training? I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

    To clarify, if the government is covering the hotel expenses as the intermediary, would I need to pay for the entire room upfront and then get reimbursed after the event? How is this process usually handled?

      Card on file is needed, but maybe some hotels are different than others. Maybe some will allow NET30, and some will want specific deposits. I’m not 100% sure, just speculation

    Hey Derek/Gov Kid Method,
    Do you have any recommendations on how to build past performance as a lodging contract company? Sourcing & managing government lodging contracts.
    Could I build past performance sourcing & managing commercial housing for travel nurses? For families or individuals experiencing loss of housing from natural disasters?
    Thank you for the dope video! Your feedback is greatly appreciated ☺️

      51:00 touched on my question! I’m still open to any words of wisdom you may have. Thxs!
      I absolutely have past performance sourcing & managing lodging for family & for past team members when I was a housekeeping manager for Hiltxn- a minimum of 15 team members.

    • @LearningToLove..

      Yes, I do know someone with a business and I can absolutely book lodging for them.
      You are the g.o.a.t. Derek!!
      I will follow through with this strategy. My goal from February to august is to build a strong past performance portfolio with the resources I have access to.
      Thanks!

      I completed my undergrad degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management & have always been intrigued with the extended stay & short term lodging (hostels, bed & breakfast, hotels, motels, host families, etc.)
      I look forward to extended my experience & skillset to the government.

    How can you find out what price the government usually pays for lodging?

    • @GovKidMethod
      @GovKidMethod  23 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It's the million dollar question. Unless they give you a rough order of magnitude or estimate of sorts, then you're relying on past contracts overlayed with the new scope of work.

  • @KayGWalker

    Before responding to stage 1, should I reserve the hotels rooms? Or at what stage do you secure rooms to ensure you can fulfill contract.

    • @GovKidMethod
      @GovKidMethod  3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      If you can cancel without a fee then book it when you submit. If not, you have to wait until award to secure the rooms. You don’t want to be stuck with rooms you can’t pay for.

      So hypothetically what would the payoff be for a contract like this how much expected take-home pay would be grossed off of contracts and this nature

    • @candacecarter5864
      @candacecarter5864 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you have to pay for the rooms and then her reimbursed?? Or do they pay you as soon as you get the contract ?

    Couple of Questions: Do you recommend setting up a website for your LLC? And how many contracts do you personally win a year? Last question is how much net do you make a year doing this (you don't have to answer if you don't want to). Thanks! I'm mainly curious if there is a lot of competition in the market.

    So is it okay to add this NACIS code even if it's not your normal code?

    • @GovKidMethod
      @GovKidMethod  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes. There is no such thing as normal. Your NAICS code selections should be fluid to reflect the evolving nature of your business. I would clean house on them quarterly in your SAM entity, removing the ones you're not using any longer.
