This makes me homesick, especially the part in Xi'an. All I was thinking while watching was " I had been there, 8 years". the Hui Community, full of snacks and local food, and the Bell Tower, used to be the places where I visited every day, every week. Now they seem so far away.
If you want to travel and low on budget, China is a very good option. Low cost, the food is good and generally safe and clean. Travelling to Japan would cost twice more.
