Weather conditions vary and most definitely have an effect on times i.e. wind aiding times don't really count. I'm sure no one thought 9.80 would win Gold in the 2020 Olympics for men...
Jeter is definitely an amazing athlete ⭐ love her warm gentle spirit. I'm happy shes doing great after retirement, definitely doing something she enjoys.🇯🇲👏🏾❤ the rivalry between her shelly n kerron was soooo exciting 🤪😍
That 10.67 into a headwind was 🔥🔥🔥. Wasn’t this a week after the world championships? She was a huge contender for the gold in Berlin 09. Had she held her nerve, who knows what would have happened there. Great competitor. Love seeing the relationship she has with Shelly Ann.
That is also about the whole package. Nerves, pressure, the ability to relax under pressure. That is what, athletics is all about. But Carmellita, is truly a Jetter. She is fast.
Carmelita Meter has been a favourite sprinter of mine. To me, she embodies hard work, perseverance, and beauty. She was a real powerful sprinter. Know she will be a great and inspiring coach.
Love her!!! Her sprint form is next to no one . High knee drive , dorsiflexed toes e.t.c i think her only short comings was relaxation but she is still my best female sprinter.
Was going to drop a comment but you already posted my comment. She is my favorite female sprinter ever. Her form is spectacular. The relaxation was her issue. But that’s what happens being a power runner. Jeter flew and this the JET. Love ❤️ her to pieces.
@@amgmusicsl I used to make all my sprinters watch her when I coached track and field. I think that if she has gotten to John S sooner, she would have broken the world record. I also always thought that she stayed in her drive phase for too long. She is a combination of strength and speed. You don’t need to drive that long when you bring your own power to the track. Ask Flo-Jo. When she broke the wr, she didn’t stay in her drive phase that long at all.
@@bensmith522 Yeah it was late when she transitioned over to John Smith who by the way still helped to refine her. She never seemed to relax but she was always about the bizness when she lined up. She is my benchmark today - not SAFP or Elaine both of whom are phenomenal as well. Just love Jeter’s form, cadence, lifts, Power etc etc. She was a beast!
That 10.64 was amazing. I only wish she had gotten to John Stewart earlier. She would probably have broken Flo-Jo’s record. But she most def let everyone know that running under 10.7 is possible, and she did it on an antiquated track.
Carmelita is one of the most under-decorated sprinters on this planet! First of all, she should’ve been running the 200M more; she was totally built to be a 200M champion, but didn’t train properly for the event. Furthermore, Jeter has one critical problem she never seemed to fix, which is, she ran too damn tense! Just about every time she lined up, she was tight, and I don’t understand why her coach did not correct this. Had Jeter learned to properly relax, she would’ve easily run 10.6’s consistently, and definitely would’ve at least been down in the 10.5’s. I think tons about Jeter and I’m more frustrated with her lack of decoration more than any other Sprinter. Simply put, she’s our unrecognized great.
@@stevie586 The Jet is my favorite female sprinter after Flo Jo. Her technique and form was superb. Still watch her in 2022 years after being retired. She is the benchmark for me.
@@Gro-485 Agreed! A clever, well-constructed metaphor for sure, friend. (Edit: it's krypton, CRITICAL to know because when you take away the "k," you take away it's available power as you unknowingly "(en)crypt" it! 🤪.)
@@stevie586 (Total amateur chiming in here): A nobody once said to me she was 'militant,' which I interprete as an over-serious, Jordan-esque warlike determination to dominate. IMO, she compares to Maurice and Ben, who were "bulk-&-hulks" powering down the track. With his muscle mass and G.O.A.T. tat (oops!, he didn't anticipate the coming of 'The Bolt!'), I can't figure out why Maurice couldn't shave off another tenth....Maybe it was tenseness as with Ms. Jeter. So, could he have done that? Lastly, with scary-fast Shaun (Shawn?) and Justin joining him in the 4-by at the Olympics in '00, it still bothers what happened because another meter or two and he would have caught that Frenchy!
If Jeter was from Jamaica, she would get the fulfillment that she deserves. But track and field isn't a popular sport in the USA. BUT, Carmellita Jeter is well recognized in Jamaica and rightly so. Shellyann Fraser Pryce speaks highly of her, remarking that she would always have to be on her A game when Carmellita Jeter is in her race.We love Carmellita Jeter as one of the greats in Jamaica.
They were such friendly competitors and rivals, as they should be. After all, we’re still all of African decent. Just brothers and sisters from other mothers and fathers.
These videos are awesome ! Taking a trip down memory lane with the best athletes ever ! I could watch hours of this, thank you ! Alot of people who are more casual fans probably already forgot how amazing Carmelia was...but the performances she delivered are truly unforgettable !
“University of South California” As an LA native, this is the first time I’ve heard anyone pronounce USC like that. It’s not technically wrong but still lol
All the top sprinters ever were & are all on it. It's big business. As long as they don't get caught no one cares. And yes even the great Usain Bolt, Carl Lewis & Michael Johnson were all on it too.
I love you Jeter ur one of my greatest athletes, brilliant, beautiful soul. Love from yard🇯🇲🇯🇲🇯🇲
Aaahhh this was probably the last time in history 10.9 is winning worlds or Olympics…Carmelita did well for someone who started so late in life
The wind was a factor

Carmelita mentors a lot of female track runners...even Sha'carri Richardson.
All the best for Carmelita! She's such a hard worker and deserves everything she has earned, and more!
Thank you for heeding our plea and doing a video on Jeter. Once again thanks for the good job you're doing. Keep on keeping on.
Love her. Always applied pressure during her prime.
Will always love her

I loved Carmelita!!!!!!
Thank u for this video of Jeter.
You are welcome hope u enjoyed it.
The best of them all the. Jet
At 0:37 Jeter is 28 years old in 2007. At 01:53 she's referred to as a young athlete in 2008. I love her to bits. She's a phenomenal human being.
Not young but not old, if she could stay healthy then she'd have many years after that
Believe it or not we Jamaicans LOVE Carmelita Jeter ❤️
Carmelita!! We LOVE YOU!!!!
Nice Work By Your Staff!
Her 10.64 was pre super soike era aswell which is nuts, if she was still in her prime now i wonder what she could have achieved.
What an. Amazing athlete awesome career
She is amazing and beautiful. I love her, I love all of them.
Jeter has a hop to her run and once it starts it's over with it
And she is beautiful.
You're always a Champion lady
Yes I remember her she is great 👍 and a Jeter speed 10.64
My favorite girl ❤️
So true
Beautiful and fast. DAMN
🔥🔥🔥
She’s Fast 💨
That is a lovely woman. Her body was rock hard and ripped, but she had the nicest voice...
ของมีคุณภาพไนกี้
What they never told you is she abused somethin… you don’t get a man’s voice like that natural. Wake up
With Jeter 10.64, Elaine make her look so slow with her 10.54. Love Jeter sportswomanship though.
Injuries are the nemesis of anyone's career....
Classy style
Jetta is ma lady !!!
Her late start (mid to late twenties) probably hurt her.
If only Shacarrie would focus like these women. She would be phenomenal.
😥😥😥❤❤❤
Love Jeter but in 2009 SAFP 10.79 and Kerron 10.80 was fastest going into final.

Yes possible a world record or under 10.60
She may be the fastest American woman alive BUT she is NOT the fastest woman alive in the world. Get your facts right
What are you talking about? That's exactly what he said!
Age doesn't matter at that time

Jones’ times still stand. Her results during and after 2000 were nullified.
What in the hell is a run way model running that fast?
1:45 wtf was that why did she fall lmao
Boy if she coaching you been running 🏃♀️ fast
I only here bronze, bronze. She should be called the Bronze queen.
