Any time someone doesn't quite get Aurora's emotive genius.....I direct them to THIS performance.
Yes, she can sing. Yes, she's got stage presence and an "it" factor.
But....her ability to *_inhabit_* a song and let the song itself use her body to emote....is second to none.
Every nuanced glance, subtle micro gesture, slight shudder, etc....conveys SO much emotion. She IS the song here.
Only Aurora can sing about such a dark subject matter and make it sound beautiful!

I have always known about Aurora, from she got noticed here in Norway. I was like many others: whow she is wierd and a greate singer, and then forgot about her until next time I see her....
When covid hit, and all my hobbies got shut down, and I had seen too many series on tv, I was bored... Then I figured I would check out some music, like I did in the 80's, really listen, not only as background music. I figured I would support Norwegian artists, so dived into a lot of artists, but fell in love with Aurora's music, messages and preformances.
The strange thing is that I can't say why she effected me so deeply. It is very difficult to explain in words....
I have seen "everything" on TH-cam and Norwegian media, and more, when I finally got to see her live, in her home town Bergen.
I was SO ready, I knew it would be greate, I knew what I was going to see.... Oh my... I was SO wrong..... In a few minutes she had me standing with my mouth open, slightly blue in my face bacause I forgot to breathe, looking like a dork, not knowing what hit me....
She was eaven better than I could dream about... Her singing was one thing, her almost childish warm humore another, but it felt like she was a friend singing to a bunch of friends. It is hard to discribe..... It was like you had watched a video and heard the sounds of a fantastic fireplace, but nothing could compare to finally sitting in front of it and feel it's warmth. It was a magical concert.
Then I was going to see her in Arendal a month or so later, this time with my son (16) and wife. This time I knew what was coming, and I was ready..... And I was wrong again.... She blew me off my feet again....
Now I am going to 2 concerts in November, and this time I know.... That I don't know 😂. I know she is going to be fantastic, the rest I will just experience....

@@allergic5 I agree. I think Murder Song at the Nobel Peace Prize concert is probably my favorite performance of hers, but All Is Soft Inside at KEXP Iceland is my favorite to watch. That entire show is an absolute treat.

At the end of an argument, the man pushes his wife out of the window. She falls on the meadow and dies.
Either his guilty conscience haunts him or she comes back as a ghost to hunt him down. In any case, he can no longer find peace. Their words are now louder than his own. Whether only in his head or because of her as ghost.
It's really worth listening to the lyrics at Aurora songs. These are important issues.

My absolut favorit song. So sad and beautiful. A man kills his terminally ill wife to end her suffering. It's hard for him but she wants it.
The song is sung from the perspective of the woman's ghost after the deed has happened.

This song is sublime. It seeps into your soul, makes you cry, breaks your heart from the pain and beauty and then takes you to a magical, spiritual temple or church with those ending harmonies and offers healing.

I like how your wife kind of mentioned how its like a profectiont and its not intentional and its coming from her within her uniqueness type side and hubby also said something realy smart to were shes not creating it for us but through her soul to release her pain her sorrow and what not yet you both said the same thing to were it actually shows the connection you 2 have too .What trips me out is im thinking this song is lovely and beautiful and beautiful sounding yet if i wouldnt of watched her singing at this type radio wkipt video were this lady is discussing things with her as she speaks between songs and Aurora says oh its Valentine's day and says we don't celebrate that much in Norway and the song shes going to sing next is it Happened quiet and Aurora says this song is kind of a Valentine's Day song except for the partner kills the other partner in this the song and i would of never known that and within this song its rather similar to the murder song to were there dead and discussing there death as they already died I think as like she says they had dreams as sad as it seem she had dreams and then says don't speak over my voice i well return from the shadows and then sounds like she says something in the bed that almost sounds like bleed in your bed and something outside the window?I had know idea the song was something of a relationship that leads to murder.Its almost like as you 2 said before. its something more of an insight that she has yet someone has said someone collaborated this song with her yet that make no sense cause how can 2 people actually write something i feel can only be in one person head to come up with like the one part of dont speak over my voice ill come back from the shadows is just so unique to were there is no way that some other writer can come in an Invision those words within a pair cause it still just trips me out how it was come up within that type arrangement and if anything was collaborated with another then that person was just an agreeable source

No, there is no words for how amazingly beautiful her performances are, and this one is no exception 😍😍
It’s a beautiful melody and very sad lyrics.
The song was inspired by domestic violence, possibly rape but most certainly murder. And in the end she (the victim) comes back to haunt him.

Full agree with the analysis. Other lyrics is like ‘are your dreams as dead as they seem’ :-). Points towards the haunting.
Aurora is, I think, unrivaled in her ability to write compelling lyrics on very serious issues and in bringing beauty to dark themes.
Indeed. And as good as she is at that....I think she's THE best at literally allowing her body to be a vessel for the universe itself(?) to create and perform *_through._* Her body and face, especially here, look SO relaxed and loose and soft and vulnerable. She never looks like she's forcing it, or clenching, or straining. It always just....flows. Just happens. Most performers never get THAT good; Aurora seems to have been practically born with that talent.
I would recommend you to watch or even react to the Once Aurora documentary. It brightens how much she had to overcome to become the artist she is.
8:20 - Maybe a good word to describe her music is "authentic"? She definitely brings authenticity with her music and her performances.

Love this song and performance and yes she is unique and she sings even about dark subjects without overwhelming you. It is like a combination of beauty and joy, and sadness in the same time. And her voice, harmonies with Silja are just great.

When Aurora first started creating music she had no thought of performing for other people until her mother told her that she should share with others because it might make someone feel better.

Thanks again! I love your reaction to Aurora ❤ - Aurora’s mum called her music medicine for people- so she incurried her to perform for people - I call her a musical Avatar . That’s is a song about rape- and I think Aurora has a empathy who stretches outside her own experience- tha means that she can feel others pain without living it herself. Best from Bergen ❤
