That's cool. Having a test Jig is always good, especially if you're doing a lot of the same thing

Jeff, the '03 GMC Denali cluster you fixed years ago still working perfectly. I recently repowered the truck, new engine / trans. She's a keeper!

Very nice test harness but I would go the extra mile and integrate all this cool harness into a BOB, Break Out Box with Banana plug test contacts for multimeter and/or scope test points, your LEDs are a great add on and of course, with proper electronics training we can upgrade the BOB to include voltage and amp outputs, either external/transferable meters (cheap) or built in set ups (expensive), for each test point, or at least the important points, nice video mate, cheers.

Yes with some of my other test fixtures I've spent the extra time to make it nice and professional looking and user friendly. Like my GM class 2 signal box, and Polaris speedometer test rig. But for this, the LEDs work fine and I don't feel like investing more time into right now.

@@DuaneDonaldson this video talks about it a little bit. But most of my GM cluster repair videos show me using it. th-cam.com/video/LnDgK4rJ2us/w-d-xo.htmlsi=Q7fChOYzenJj6ZUR

Jeff, do you repair LCD scoring on air hockey tables? The center horizontal bar on all displays does not light up. Basically, none of these numbers has an illuminated center bar. Affecting numbers 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8 and 9. Number 1 and number 7 are not affected. I could remove the components and ship them. Thank you!

I'm sorry but I don't have any experience with this air hockey display. I'm not sure what it needs or if I have what it might need.

This past summer I sent a few out for repair. Two A9P, and an 8LF which may have been the original for my '88 California only mass air V8 auto mustang. The A9P had constant running fuel pump, no injector pulse, and no CEL. I chose Fox Mustang Restoration because he had the vintage dealer test equipment and actually runs the computer in a car.

I don't know if Circuit Board Medics still does the older EECs, but they also run every ECM in a live car and the computers are usually shipped the day or day after they get them.

Jeff, have you ever looked into the Ram heavy duty “service ABS problem?. Originally diagnosed as antilock ECU unit ( with a valve body ) replacement. I recently heard there will be a recall in 1/2025 for the ECU. I have come to believe ( because road vibration make the alarm come and go ) that the problem is in the plug to the ECU.

    • @jeffescortlx

I have not looked into this particular problem yet. Maybe someday I will.
