I switched from Arch recently back to Kubuntu because of the instability. I like Arch, sure, but it got annoying fixing everything all the time. Plasma nowadays is really cool with lots of great features
I'm hoping you guys do a Seoul vlog just like the New Zealand one. I'm eager to watch it on OSFTVlogs. I love the vlogs you do, and funnily enough, those are the only vlogs that I've ever watched XD.
Hello Phill, yet I'm early again lol I remember i was running kUbuntu 18.04 on my celeron laptop back in 2021 and it was surprisingly fast. Nice video!
I might give ubuntu variants a pause for now, mostly did this one as a follow up to Arix. KDE Neon was going to be featured instead of Kubuntu, however, due to major black screen issues in VMWare after installation, I went with Kubuntu instead.

@OsFirstTimer you could try and make a bunch of smaller videos and schedule them to be spaced out in the time you will be there and the time you will be editing the footage?
Correction: Since 2017 Ubuntu dropped the Unity desktop environment in favor of Gnome, there is "Ubuntu unity" tho which poses the same status as kubuntu.
16:47 Well you can do this on windows (not 11) by unlocking the taskbar and moving it to the side? Honestly Microsoft removing such useful features is the reason why many people are actually giving Linux a go or buying mac hardware
@@OsFirstTimer I'm legally blind and rely on the zoom feature. I found a bug with how it tracks the mouse when you have more than one monitor. It had been a big since KDE 4 but I found it in 5.27. @@acidiclight Oh that's awesome, thanks for telling the story of what you developed :) Edit: Oh, I remember you! Good on you for getting into linux development.
@@OsFirstTimer well, it’s the Win8 video to that’s the oldest. Anytime Diana says “Why do they have to keep changing things all the time”, I’ll follow up with: “You get used to one thing and then they change it. Why?
Hey guys, hope you enjoyed seeing KDE 1.1.2 from 1999 last time in Arix. This time around she tried out KDE Plasma 6.1 from 2024 :)
I switched from Arch recently back to Kubuntu because of the instability. I like Arch, sure, but it got annoying fixing everything all the time. Plasma nowadays is really cool with lots of great features
This is the closest we have come with windows 98 in 2025
i was really thrilled to see my suggestion in my notifications
12 years ago, Diana tried Kubuntu 12.10
12 YEARS. That's insane.
Yeah, it's been a while so I thought it would be ok for her to try the latest, especially since the original was a shaky cam video :P
I miss the bouncy ball from back then
Remember the Diana Perfect Operating System? That was Arch Linux with KDE.
still her arch enemy though
Ive been watching this channel for 11 years ( my account was created since i got a new email and my old gmail got hacked ) and i never got bored
If the recent OSFirstTimer overload has kept everyone entertained, then that's awesome to hear :)
I'm hoping you guys do a Seoul vlog just like the New Zealand one. I'm eager to watch it on OSFTVlogs. I love the vlogs you do, and funnily enough, those are the only vlogs that I've ever watched XD.
After trying out KDE 1.1.2, this is a nice sequel of sort
Yeah, it just felt like the perfect follow up.
Hello Phill, yet I'm early again lol
I remember i was running kUbuntu 18.04 on my celeron laptop back in 2021 and it was surprisingly fast. Nice video!
Exactly what I needed before bed :)
You can actually just start typing in stuff like "3*6+2" or "3 meters to feet" while you're on the desktop 🙂
Oh cool, never knew that!
Just passed my maths exam and this is peak relaxation now :)
Congratulations 🎉
nice
@@TheBlueAngryBirds Thanks mate
Awesome, I know that feeling :D Enjoy your period of relaxation now :)
Congrats
Oh wow so the OS's Diana checked out in the past will be checked out again with newer versions?
A small few of them, especially if they are still popular today and filmed during the shaky cam era.
A osft upload during the time I'm awake!
5:37 hopefully this means we will get another holiday video on your Vlog channel?
Fingers crossed
Im surprised diana hasn't tried out any windows 8 beta versions yet
Great video though ❤
thatd actually be really cool
I think the early build of windows 8 that still had a start button would be kind of cool... Still considering it though :P
@@OsFirstTimer try build 7997, almost 8000, that will trigger something in her
@@Randi_MyMan He could also show windows 8 history, similar to what they did with longhorn
Oh no I meant to say windows 8, not whistler lmao
I think Diana likes Firefox. I'm not sure, tho
The Ubuntu video did well in terms of views, so hoping this one does even better!
The entire last month has been a struggle with views, I'm hoping we get some more viewers soon so more people can enjoy our videos :)
I wake up 6 minutes after this came out yay
so we are trying every variant of ubuntu now?
you should try ubuntu unity next.
my favorite Linux distro is debian 12 with kde plasma
I might give ubuntu variants a pause for now, mostly did this one as a follow up to Arix. KDE Neon was going to be featured instead of Kubuntu, however, due to major black screen issues in VMWare after installation, I went with Kubuntu instead.
@OsFirstTimer I used kde neon before switching to debian on my new ssd.

The real definition of too much browsers lol, I hope the RAM is okay haha
I know right... And she wanted to fill the other side with chrome browsers :P
Exactly 12 years ago from Kubuntu 12.10 video! Xubuntu next? 😂 Great video!
Hey, the outro music video link in the description is not available anymore...

Why did you translate ήτα (η) as h?
@@andreiamalitei cuz there is no ητα in english and she probably pressed h for η to appear
A lot of Firefox Browsers😅

also, if you are actually going to seoul, i hope theres a vlog!
There will be, but I'm worried OSFirstTimer will go down for a month as a result of the holiday + editing time for that massive video.
@OsFirstTimer you could try and make a bunch of smaller videos and schedule them to be spaced out in the time you will be there and the time you will be editing the footage?
That mouse click is satisfying 🤤 also, did mum try windows NT 5.0 with the 15 second startup sound 😅 already?
I personally feel like the mormo document is hard to beat :)
Ya'll need to do Redox OS eventually. It's a non-Linux OS written all in Rust.
That's a lot of bars!
Correction: Since 2017 Ubuntu dropped the Unity desktop environment in favor of Gnome, there is "Ubuntu unity" tho which poses the same status as kubuntu.
3:00 Well, you could actually name it with those "symbols". You'd just need to change the keyboard layout to Greek. Those "symbols" are Greek letters
Oh wow, never knew that :O Thanks for letting me know :)
missed the chance for the outro to say something like "but we're all out of time for now, see you in the next episode"
LMAOO
you should try the KDEs you havent tried yet on old debians. you tried kde 4 back in 2013 with the arch linux video but thats been a while
Before OSDT
I PREDICT EVERYTIME A VIDEO COMES OUT IN MY HEAD ITS CRAZY
BRO FR
This is kinda ironic to me because i just installed KDE on Ubuntu yesterday (i was bored of gnome)
