Hello from Australia, visiting you guys and being given a guided tour of your shop and gear was a highlight of visiting England
Super informative Becky! I’m a super satisfied customer or GOWM. Bought a D4s and a 200mm f2 which I was hoping you’d bring up in this livestream! Keep up the great work
Very nice video.I hoped and you showed the 200mm 2.0 .Maybe you can do a video to show the differance between a 200mm 2.0 and a 200mm 4.0 and a 300mm 5.6 and a 300mm 2.8. and explain the effect on the picture.Thanks.
Brilliant information about the different types of lenses
Once again, my time crunch caught up to me. I do have a recommendation regarding lenses. There is a Utuber by the name of Ken Rockwell. I don't visit his site often, but he has a Nikon compatibility list that is excellent. He lists every Nikon camera and what lens works. You can Google Ken Rockwell Nikon Lens Comparability. You'll find it interesting. Doesn't give lens specs, but it does say what camera works with what lens.
sounds good , all seems within frequency 👍
A really nice video Becky. Love your enthusiasm.
The Wimberlet AP 500 R/foot work really well with the 500 PF, And it has a Arca - swiss foot.
Great presentation of different options for telephoto lenses
need to hear and discuss the real telephotos the 300 2.8, 400 2.8, 500 4, 600 4, 180-400, 120-300, 800 5.6! i'm sure Grays has them!! i own some and have used a lot of them and they are brilliant! love your store and livestream!
Please show us the AFS 200/400mm 4.0
Be careful when you're buying the 70- 300mm lens it comes in several different flavors I use the FX Af-S on the D7100 take advantage of that 1.5 crop factor. I'm not sure how popular the AF-P lenses were it was something that came out I think now for 3 years I've only seen a select lenses that are p it's the same with the N lenses too I've only seen the select few of those
Hi Becky, in answer to a question in this stream I did say that the PF lenses do work with the D700. I have just do some testing with my old D90 (converted to IR), and my D700 and yes they all both seem fine auto focusing and exposure all great I may add some to your shared folder but they are not very good images as it raining and I am shielding not till August so still trapped in the house. The D90 shoot wide open at F4 for the 300mm PF and F5.6 for the 500mm PF. I have added a folder "Johns PF lenses tests" The D700 and D90 OK but the D90 wide open.
Will we witness a HANDS ON review of Nikon 120-300mm f2.8/ 180-400mm f4 and D6 to compare with 400mm f2.8 FL for action/sports wildlife special.
@@aussie8114 No Im just in the process of updating my gear. Just wondering if getting the 120-300mm f2.8 to replace my existing 70-200mm f2.8 lens. 180-400mm f4 be more useful to cover airshows, sports and wildlife than buying a 400mm f2.8
@@aussie8114 I cover a lot of sports under floodlights with Football,Soccer & indoor where the quality of lights vary from modern up to date lights to very old lights floodlit interiors where you need the widest f stop available. Adding a tc sometimes doesn't help.to give you an idea i was at an old stadium at a nighttime soccer game. I had my nikon 200mm f2 lens and the lights ts were so bad the base ISO was iso 5000 using a Nikon D5 to give you an idea with how poor quality the lighting was.
@@aussie8114 Nikon 200-400mm lens i have used in the past but very soft from about 300mm onwards under floodlight conditions in the version I had. Heard report say the 180-400mm f4 is more consistent throughout the focal range compared to the 200-400mm f4 nikon lens. Likewise the new 120-300mm f2.8 is supposedly superior to the nikon 300mm f2.8 lens.
@@aussie8114 well its a good lens but the 200-400mm f4 iterations weren't as good acroos the focal range as the 180-400.
@@aussie8114 need the faster f stop as the 500mm lens is good but doesn't have the robustness of its build
I become a big fan of your channel.
I have a question maybe you tried both lenses.
Witch one is beter for video and stills on a nikon z6 105 2.5 ais or 135 ais?
Bokeh on the fullframe will be smooth than the crop ,is it right?
great stream, best yet!, but I was wondering, for us "international" viewers is there any way the G.O.W. site can quote the prices in other currencies? ( Australian dollars, for example), by clicking a button for this purpose on the site, ie to sync the "cart" with the currencies and shipping location? as all your streams are great, but it is a real shame we ( Aussies, Canadians, etc.)CAN'T buy from your site, because of this issue, ie we don't know what the price is in our currency or if you can ship it to us, freight charges, etc. eg: I found a cracker of a lens (55 mm f 1.2 manual focus) for ~500 LB but don't know how much it is in AUD , because in my country and local store it retails for ~ $ 3,500 AUD or more! , so how do I see if yours is as good a deal as I think it is??
PS: apologies for the LB, know its not weight, but I can't type the $ sign for your currency in the comments bar.
Come to South Africa Becky ..its freezing here ..mid Winter
